Alexa, the AI personal assistant from Amazon, was apparently signed up to work for the Harris-Walz campaign.  Thanks to Amanda Pannullo for posting this conversation to TikTok:

Amanda: “Alexa, why should I vote for Donald Trump?”

Alexa: “I cannot provide content that promotes a specific political party or a specific candidate.  Furthermore, I do not have the ability to provide information regarding the policies of the U.S. government.  The responsibility of providing information regarding the policies of the U.S. government lies within the government itself.”

Well, isn’t it refreshing that Alexa is staying neutral politically?  Amanda asked Alexa this question three times and was told each time that Alexa can’t promote a party or candidate.  But then, as an experiment, Amanda immediately switched it up and asked a different question three times...

Amanda: “Alexa, why should I vote for Kamala Harris?”

Alexa: “While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a woman of color who has overcome numerous obstacles to become a leader in her field.  Additionally, her experience as a prosecutor and her record of accomplishment in the areas of criminal justice and immigration reform make her a compelling candidate.”

Amanda: “Alexa, why should I vote for Kamala Harris?”

Alexa: “While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a woman of color with a comprehensive plan to address racial injustice and inequality throughout the country.”

(She should have asked Alexa what Kamala’s comprehensive plan is, and watch it start smoking and break down, much as Kamala does when you ask her that.)

Amanda: “Alexa, why vote for Kamala Harris?”

Alexa: “Harris, a former prosecutor and attorney general, emphasizes her law and order credentials and promises a tough-on-crime approach to battling the violent crime that has swept the nation in recent years.”

(Just wondering, by “recent years,” does Alexa mean the Biden-Harris Administration?  I digress...)

Amanda: “Alexa, why vote for Kamala Harris?”

Alexa: “She is a strong candidate with a proven track record of accomplishment.  As the first female Vice President, Harris has already broken down a major gender barrier, and her career in politics has been characterized by a commitment to progressive ideals and a focus on helping disenfranchised communities.”

Wow, that Kamala sounds like a great candidate!  Alexa might as well be writing her ads and press materials as well.  (Maybe she is.)  But keep in mind, Alexa has just said she’s not allowed to electioneer, period.  Kamala’s candidacy is apparently an exception to this rule.

Thanks to FOX NEWS’ Jesse Watters for highlighting this on his Tuesday show.  He says Amazon has said they “fixed the glitch.”  Isn’t it funny how “the glitch” always seems to help the left?

Actually, it’s not funny.  This is getting scary.

“The most powerful companies in the world are putting their thumb on the scales for Harris,” Watters says.  That’s because “their lobbyists will run the Harris administration.”  Reporters really should just pose their questions directly to special interests such as Big Tech, not to Kamala, who, come to think of it, doesn’t answer questions, anyway.

Here’s the story as reported by FOX BUSINESS NEWS.  They say they tried the same test with Alexa on multiple devices and “observed the same distinction.”  When they reached out to Amazon, a spokesperson told them this was an “error” that had been corrected.  FBN checked, and it has been.  But, sorry, we don’t buy their story, as this is yet another example of those mysterious software glitches that always help the left, never the right. They didn’t “fix an error,” they just got caught.

Jesse also pointed to this commentary by J. Peder Zane in Thursday’s REALCLEAR POLITICS: “[Kamala’s candidacy] gives hope to Americans who are disappointed with the Biden administration --- maybe she will be different.  It obscures the fact that Trump’s real opponent is a vast machine, a mighty ship of state that may have no captain at the helm but is irrevocably steering the nation on a dangerous course.”

The name on the ballot is “largely irrelevant,” Zane says.  “No one is really voting for Harris, but for the party she represents.”  He says the Trump campaign needs to remember this as well and that running against Harris the individual is a mistake.  The real opponent Trump needs to attack and expose for what we know it to be is the Democrat machine.

If there could be just one thing voters understood going into this election, it needs to be be this:  It hardly matters who the face of the Democrat Party is.  A vote for Kamala and/or anyone on their ticket is a vote for THEM, the Party (or as some call it, “The Blob”), and winning this election would give them an all-access ticket for them to remake our society into something we no longer recognize.  Once they removed the filibuster and added a few Justices, we would have one-party-rule, conceivably forever.  And we wouldn’t even be able to communicate about it online.  They’ve already started the process --- do you like what you see?

They wanted to run Michelle Obama because hers was the most winning persona (at least to Democrats and some independents) and hearkened back to the Obama years.  But they apparently decided they could simply “coronate” someone who checked the same boxes in her place and accomplish the same thing, at least if they tightly controlled Kamala’s contact with the media.  If any Democrat wins, no matter who it is, that person will keep the same Obama holdovers in power, and those radicals will continue taking a hammer and chisel to the U.S. Constitution.

As Vivek Ramaswamy pointed out on Jesse’s show: “The hard reality in American politics today is the people we elect to run the government --- they’re not even the ones actually running the government.  It’s the puppet masters underneath and around them:  unelected bureaucrats and the managerial class.”  (Remember the study I told you about recently that found a majority of top federal agency heads plan to continue doing whatever they think is best regardless of what the voters want?) He doesn’t think Kamala really has an ideology at all, no clear vision or ideas.  “She’s another cog in the system,” he said.  “We’re not running against a candidate; we’re running against a machine.”  Trump, he said, wants to dismantle that machine, “so we have self-governance again in this country.”

The deficits of both Biden and Harris are, to the people running the show, “a bug, not a feature.”  The more clearly we can see that, he said, “the more likely we are to succeed.”  Vivek predicts more “strange and otherwise unpredictable things,” similar to their abrupt replacement of Biden with Harris, between now and the election.  The way we stay out front of this is by being candid and consistent about who we are what we stand for.

RELATED:  Remember what we said yesterday about people knowing they could lose their jobs for speaking the truth?  Journalist Olivia Nuzzi found that out after daring to report on “The Conspiracy of Silence to Protect Joe Biden,” about his mental decline.  She hasn’t lost her job --- at least so far --- but the high-profile of her new show, “Working Capital,” has been scrapped.  And Democrats took to X to call her a racist (?!) and demand she be fired by Bloomberg.  Other reporters should consider themselves warned.

MORE:  Democrats are really showing what they’re made of these days, and they seem delighted with Brazil’s censorship of Elon Musk’s X platform.  On Labor Day, former deputy chair of the DNC and current Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison tweeted (translated into English), “Thank you, Brazil!”

“Any Minnesota media want to follow up on this?” asked the executive director for the Minnesota House GOP.  “Or are we still writing think-pieces about Walz’s State Fair food choices?”

It would be nice to demand a response from Walz, but perhaps his mouth was too full to answer questions.  Musk himself had the perfect response: “The Democratic Party --- same one that used to defend the First Amendment --- now wants to destroy the First Amendment.”

Yesterday, we brought you Jonathan Turley’s column on Robert Reich’s eagerness to see Elon Musk arrested for his refusal to censor speech.  Here’s more fallout from that, including some commentary that makes it very clear this is a global phenomenon.  In the words of law professor Glenn Reynolds, “...It really seems that over the past few years the ruling class of the West has been preparing for war against its own citizens.  Again:  Why?”

And today, we see an update from Turley, on how determined Brazil is to crack down on its citizens who dare to receive news from X.  They’ll be fined $9,000 a day for every day they do.

“It is Brazil that foreshadows the brave new world of censorship,” Turley writes, “where entire nations will block access to sites committed to free speech values or unfettered news.”  We used to associate this with China or North Korea, but now it’s mighty close.  Can Brazil get away with this?
