Acts 18:9 NIV
Infuriating immigration story
Just when you think the situation at our southern border can’t get any worse, or the handling of it by the Biden Administration any more shocking, something like this cranks it up another notch.
Health and Human Services (HHS) whistleblower Tara Lee Rodas testified to the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security and Enforcement that she’s seen firsthand that the federal government is delivering migrant children into the hands of human traffickers who put them into forced labor and other forms of slavery.
I’m going to quote her verbatim because I don’t want to get any details wrong, but I also don’t trust myself not to become furious if I try to recount this myself:
"I thought I was going to help place children in loving homes. Instead, I discovered that children are being trafficked through a sophisticated network that begins with recruiting in their home country, smuggled to the U.S. border, and ends when [Office of Refugee Resettlement] delivers a child to a sponsor. Some sponsors are criminals and traffickers and members of Transnational Criminal Organizations. Some sponsors view children as commodities and assets to be used for earning income — this is why we are witnessing an explosion of labor trafficking.”
"Whether intentional or not, it could be argued that the U.S. government has become the middleman in a large scale, multibillion-dollar child trafficking operation that is run by bad actors seeking to profit off of the lives of children.”
This situation is so bad that even the New York Times has started covering it, accusing officials of ignoring signs of "explosive" growth in child labor.
Rodas said she sees it as a humanitarian rather than political issue, since it’s been going on for at least 10 years. But I have to assume the “explosive” recent growth is due to the explosion in illegal immigration that’s resulted from this Administration’s open border policies. They didn’t seem to care about what these children suffered in making the dangerous trek to our border or being smuggled in by coyotes. But having allowed them to come in by the tens of thousands, they aren’t even protecting them from human traffickers, and are even facilitating it?
I’ve seen a lot of scandalous stuff in the past two-plus years, but this is the worst and the most unconscionable. If this Administration would fight as hard to save children from human traffickers as it does to keep killing them in the womb, this problem could be ended.
Better than Biden
Even the Taliban is doing Biden’s job better than Biden is…
https://www.washingtonpost.
And speaking of this Administration leaving Americans behind in a war zone, former Obama diplomat Brett Bruen blasted Biden for leaving 16,000 Americans stranded in war-torn Sudan, calling it “shameful” and “a bloody disgrace.”
Having led rescue missions of US citizens abroad himself, Bruen writes, “It is a bitter irony that today, as Biden announces his bid to again represent some 330 million Americans as president, some 16,000 are stranded inside this troubled East African nation. In lieu of rescue, Americans are...advised to undertake a treacherous trek - on their own - across a 500-mile battlefield to Port Sudan.
It's unrealistic, dangerous, and deeply irresponsible.
This is not the way the United States behaved when I served overseas.”
Sadly, the US under Biden is behaving in various terrible ways that it’s never behaved before, but he seems to think he’s doing such a great job, he deserves another term. The people he’s left trapped overseas aren’t the only Americans who worry they won’t survive four more years under him.
Latest Dispatch From the Fascist Left
In an eerie echo of China’s totalitarian “social credit” control system, Democrats in Minnesota are considering a change in the law that would record alleged “bias incidents” on the records of citizens, even when they aren’t considered crimes.
Republican Rep. Harry Niska asked the bill’s co-sponsor, Democrat Rep. Samantha Van some hypotheticals, like if someone wrote an article arguing that COVID-19 was a Chinese bio-weapon that leaked from a lab, and someone reported them to the Department of Human Rights, would that go on their record as a “bias incident.” Shockingly, Van replied that not all incidents are violent or criminal, but that rhetoric is “bias motivated,” so “it can be considered a bias incident." Niska called that response, “Very troubling.” That’s an understatement.
He then asked, what if someone reported somebody for wearing a T-shirt that said, “I love J.K. Rowling,” would that be put on their government record as a “bias incident?” Van replied, "I’m not going to say yes or no to that question." So, "yes."
Niska pointed out that the Democrats are trying to criminalize protected speech and religious beliefs, and turn what’s going on inside people’s heads into “thought crimes.”
I guess they think that will never affect them, because they don’t have actual thoughts. If they did, they would be horrified at the very thought of what they’re trying to do. But here’s a thought for them to try to wrap their minds around: The First Amendment still applies, even in Minnesota.
“Transgender” swimmer "Lia" Thomas stirs outrage
“Transgender” swimmer “Lia” Thomas stirred outrage by complaining that women aren’t giving “her” athletic endeavors enough support (and “she” needs athletic supporters.) Thomas claimed that women who say they respect “her” as a woman but don’t think it’s fair for “her” to compete in women’s sports are "using the guise of feminism to sort of push transphobic beliefs."
https://www.foxnews.com/
So this large, muscular person who reportedly displays “her” male genitalia to female teammates in the locker room is not only claiming to be a woman and scarfing up all the women’s swimming trophies and records, now “she” claims to understand feminism better than feminists, knows their private motivations, and condemns them as bigots. Feminists reacted to that about as well as you’d expect, and for once, I’m completely on their side.
You know, if I hadn’t been so stridently lectured that “Lia” Thomas is a 100% real woman, I’d say those comments sound an awful lot like “mansplaining.”
Related: Kevin Bacon is the latest Hollywood celebrity to wade into the culture wars, taking to social media to oppose laws barring drag shows in schools and declaring “Drag is a Right.” This prompted one commenter to ask how to make sure her kids keep six degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon.

Civil trial against Trump is under way
I hesitate even to report this because rape is a very serious charge and should be taken with the utmost gravity, and this is going to be thoroughly politicized. But since I have to catalogue all of former President Trump’s legal issues, I will inform you that the civil trial is under way in New York for Atlantic writer E. Jean Carroll’s lawsuit against Trump for defamation and allegedly raping her 24 years ago. Trump has branded the accusation as a lie and a scam.
Carroll took the stand Wednesday to tearfully tell her story, which was reported without question by most media outlets. But she’ll likely face a very tough cross examination today. It’s not clear if the judge will allow defense attorneys to bring up the fact that she claimed in her initial deposition not to be funded by a Democrat donor, but later admitted her lawsuit was being funded by an anti-Trump billionaire who co-founded LinkedIn.
Since most media outlets are 100% on Carroll’s side, here’s an opposing view from Ben Bartee at PJ Media, who doesn’t even like Trump but calls this lawsuit “a total sham.” Of course, that doesn’t mean Trump won’t lose it, especially with a New York jury. Just be warned that it’s already ugly and likely to get uglier.
Meme time
The Biden reelection campaign just launched its official website with a graphic showing Biden with VP Kamala Harris next to text reading, “TOGETHER, we can finish the job for the American people” on a solid blue background. They quickly learned that in the Internet age, you never make something that’s that easy to alter. Click the link for some of the funnier variations, and see why Biden is trying to send makers of humorous memes to prison.

Why does the press continue to play along?!?
President Biden is being razzed after a camera captured his crib notes at a press conference Wednesday. They revealed that he not only was told which reporters to call on, but their questions had been pre-screened and were also written down for him in advance.
To be fair, this did not mean his answers were any better-prepared or more coherent than if he’d just heard the question for the first time.
The bigger scandal here is that the press corps is actually playing along with this partisan charade. Can you even imagine them doing this for Trump?! I think that whoever the next Republican President may be, he or she should start the very first press conference by telling the reporters that they will be expected to submit all questions in advance for pre-screening. And when they start screaming about it, tell them that if they were willing to do it for Biden for the past four years, they can just keep on doing it.
Buttigieg's feeble excuse
Pete Buttigieg claimed that the House Republicans’ bill restricting transgender (i.e, “male”) athletes in women’s sports is “really getting in the way of our ability to” repair roads and bridges.
Talk about putting the “trans” into “Transportation Secretary!” Apparently, despite having been given $1.6 TRILLION for “infrastructure” just 17 months ago, Buttigieg needs Republicans to put aside other issues and give him even more money. Even though it appears more likely to go down a rathole than to fill up a pothole.
A feeble excuse like blaming trans legislation for not repairing roads and bridges reminds me of P.J. O’Rourke’s classic definition of a liberal: Someone who believes that some people are just too poor to pick up the trash out of their own yards.
Also worth noting in that story is that he repeats the same “big lie” the President loves to tell, that Republicans are “banning books.” No, they’re making sure that books given to kids in schools are age-appropriate and don’t expose first graders to sexually-explicit material. It’s something that every school board in every state does – or used to do up until some school boards were taken over by leftists who want to replace the “Three R’s” with Triple X.
Disney v. DeSantis
The Disney Corporation is notoriously litigious, and they’ve predictably responded to losing their special privileges in Florida by suing Gov. Ron DeSantis. The lawsuit accuses DeSantis of a "targeted campaign of government retaliation" against them that violates Disney's free speech rights, and it challenges the legality of the new state board overseeing the district they controlled like a kingdom for 55 years.
Yes, he targeted Disney specifically, and not any of the other corporations that were running their counties as their personal fiefdoms.
DeSantis said he believes the case has no merit, and they’re just upset at having to live under the same rules and pay the same taxes as everybody else and want to keep controlling things without proper state oversight. He said, "The days of putting one company on a pedestal with no accountability are over in the state of Florida."
I can’t help enjoying stories like this because I love watching leftists twist themselves into pretzels by defending the big, rich corporation every time DeSantis says something they’d normally agree with 100% if it weren’t Ron DeSantis saying it.
No idea
"I think it's very important [...] for us at every moment in time and certainly this one, to see the moment in time in which we exist and are present and to be able to contextualize it — to understand where we exist in the history and in the moment — as it relates not only to the past but the future."
https://twitter.com/
It’s impossible to argue with that…because I have no idea what it means. But I think the 1950s “psychic” Criswell would agree, because as he warned us in “Plan Nine from Outer Space”:
“We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember, my friend: Future events such as these will affect you in the future!”
ICYMI: Another company partners with Dylan Mulvaney
Yet another company that partnered with flamboyant “trans” media influencer Dylan Mulvaney is getting hit with boycott backlash (or am I expected to call it “girl-cott” backlash?) It’s the makeup giant Maybelline. Some are even calling for boycotting all the products of their parent company, L’oreal. Others pointed out the irony that Maybelline’s slogan is, “Maybe she’s born with it,” which Mulvaney definitely wasn’t.
https://www.westernjournal.
While Bud Light’s customers are mostly male, Maybelline’s are female, and they’re offended by the Mulvaney deal for totally different reasons. They say it’s insulting to women, that Mulvaney is not a woman but a male who “portrays women as ditzy bimbos,” and that it’s not an unfair representation of real women who work, run homes and take care of children.
Social media figure Allie Beth Stuckey tweeted that we now have grown men telling actual women “what it’s like to be a girl, as if they could have any earthly idea.” And Madeleine Kearns said in National Review, “Perhaps the greatest silver lining of the transgender movement has been how it exposes the follies of disregarding sex and sexual difference. ‘Womanface’ is the new blackface. It’s time to get outraged.”
On a related note, I saw an interesting interview with a priest who noted how many of today’s major news stories seem to come right out of Genesis, with humans claiming the right and ability to create life (cloning, AI), to end life (abortion), and to assign genders, all powers that are specifically reserved to God alone. Even if you don’t believe in the Bible, just reading Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein,” which is actually an allegory about a doctor who tried to play God, would tell you this is heading down a very dark road.
If you think it’s an overstatement to suggest that today’s left is hostile to Biblical truth, check out this video.
Two Bibles kept in a private lounge for Arizona legislators started disappearing and being found hidden away under couch cushions or in the refrigerator. So security installed a camera. It captured Rep. Stephanie Stahl-Hamilton, a Democrat and ordained Presbyterian minister (!), hiding the Bibles under two sofas. When asked by a reporter why she did it, she just walked away.
Maybe it’s because that book contradicts virtually the entire Democratic Party Platform of 2023.
Remember when
Remember the good old days, when “Another One Bites The Dust” was just a great Queen song and not the latest banking news headline?
John Solomon: Trump attorneys make “extraordinary” move
Last week, it was revealed that current Secretary of State Antony Blinken was ultimately behind that “classic earmarks” letter in October 2020 smearing the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation. Blinken called Mike Morell, former acting director of the CIA, and Morell quickly got the ball rolling. (Morell says Blinken didn’t “directly ask” for a letter.) In a mere two days, Blinken had the letter, signed by 51 former intel officials who hadn’t even seen the hard drive.
So, how did Blinken think to call Morell? As explained by John Solomon in a new piece for JUST THE NEWS, this wasn’t the first time Morell helped create a fake narrative to boost the Democrat presidential nominee. In 2016, he wrote an op-ed on behalf of Hillary Clinton in THE NEW YORK TIMES in which he used his CIA background to lend credibility to his accusation that Trump was “an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation.” He was one of the first members of the intel community to use that lie.
The tie to Russia was totally concocted, and Democrats ate it up with a spoon.
The Clinton campaign was ready with its coordinated response, saying that Trump was “unfit” to be President. And, look! They had a letter, too, kind of like the “classic earmarks” letter of 2020, and signed by 50 self-described national security and foreign policy experts. (They keep going back to the same pages of the same playbook over and over.) “Not fit”...”dangerous”...lacking in “the character, values, and experience to be President,” the letter said. “He weakens U.S. moral authority as the leader of the free world. He appears to lack basic knowledge and belief in the U.S. Constitution, U.S. laws, and U.S. institutions, including religious tolerance, freedom of the press, and an independent judiciary.”
I know --- it sounds as though they’re describing the current administration, not President Trump’s. But that’s what they came out with when Hillary was running against Trump. And the letter goes on from there; take a look.
http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/
When the “classic earmarks” letter came out in October 2020, right before the election, former FBI intel chief Kevin Brock wrote a column for THE HILL alleging that spies actually were trying to influence the election. But he wasn’t talking about Russian spies --- he meant American spies, the spooks who had signed that phony letter. “Why was a letter written at this time?” he asked. “To help Joe Biden politically, and nothing more.”
And now Solomon writes, “To some intelligence experts, Morell’s actions stand as a poster child of the danger that Brock warned about nearly three years ago: a national security apparatus suddenly intervening in elections.”
Former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes told Solomon, “I think you have to assume that this has permeated across basically the entire bureaucracy in Washington, DC, especially in the intelligence agencies.”
Solomon spoke with Brock again to get his perspective on what we’ve learned about the origins of the “classic earmarks” letter. “When a disingenuous statement can have a material effect on not just policy, but on a national election, then it becomes a kind of fraud on the American people,” Brock said.
The 2020 vote is the third such election in which Morell, a 33-year veteran of the CIA, has stirred controversies with actions that utilized his ties to the intelligence community. The first was in September of 2012, when Obama was running for re-election against Mitt Romney. Morell edited intelligence talking points to delete reference to al-Qaeda’s role in the Benghazi attack before Susan Rice appeared on the Sunday news shows to lie.
Morell later denied that he had done this for the political benefit of President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton.
But if you look at all his actions in context, they seem highly political. In 2016, about a week before Morell first speaks of Trump being recruited as an “unwitting” agent of Russia, then-CIA Director John Brennan gives a heads-up to President Obama about Russian intelligence showing that Hillary was planning to distract from her email scandal with a story about Trump and Russian hackers interfering with U.S. elections. Just four days before that heads-up, Clinton campaign adviser Jake Sullivan --- who today is in the Biden White House as national security adviser --- puts out a statement saying the Russians have hacked the Democrat National Committee to help Trump.
Incidentally, today there is STILL no evidence that the Russians hacked the DNC. It was just “conjecture” by the company CrowdStrike. The theory remains that the material released was from an internal leak, not a hack.
Again, Morell has testified that Blinken didn’t directly ask him to write the “classic earmarks” letter but that his contact sparked that effort. The Biden campaign did later thank Morell for his trouble, as Biden was able to use that letter to shut Trump down when he tried to bring it up during the final presidential debate. Imagine their gratitude.
Solomon appeared on Tuesday’s HANNITY show to discuss Morell’s role in both letters. Regarding the 2020 “classic earmarks” letter, the FBI had received the laptop in December 2019 and authenticated it as Hunter’s, he said, by the spring of 2020. So we know the FBI was lying when they warned Big Tech of the coming “Russian disinformation campaign” involving Hunter Biden.
And Morell was, in Solomon’s words, “right in the middle” of the Obama, Hillary and Biden campaigns, furthering helpful lies each time.
Moving on to Antony Blinken, Republican Reps. Andy Biggs of Arizona and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin are now calling on him to resign as Secretary of State for misleading the public on the Hunter laptop case.
https://www.
In a major update to the Blinken story, we now know that Blinken has had a long, chummy association with Hunter Biden --- who knew? --- going back over a decade, including Hunter’s time on the Burisma board and his pursuit of various other lucrative influence-peddling activities. This opinion piece in the WASHINGTON EXAMINER details all the ethical problems with this that the media pretended not to notice.
And Bonchie at REDSTATE shows the relationship is clear as can be.
As Stephen Miller said on Hannity’s show, “It’s just one bombshell revelation after another” with these phony-baloney stories and cozy deep-state entanglements. Here’s just one example: Then-Deputy Secretary of State Blinken held a meeting with Hunter at the State Department (!!) in July 2015. This was while Hunter was on the Burisma board and his father was Vice President. Blinken, his wife, and Hunter emailed frequently during those years, with Blinken using his private email as opposed to official State Department email. (Remind you of anyone?) Hunter was forwarding their exchanges to his business partners. No wonder Blinken would have wanted to discredit that laptop!
Miller called for criminal indictment for conspiracy to interfere and obstruct the American election. “If we can put someone in jail for a meme,” he says, “we can certainly pursue criminal charges in this case.”
https://www.foxnews.com/video/
Finally, in a must-read column, legal analyst Margot Cleveland offers six reasons why the IRS whistleblower who’s come forward about the special treatment given to Hunter should terrify all involved --- at every level.
