BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
The Jobs Report
By Mike Huckabee
Compared to the last Administration’s program to “Make America Great Again,” I question whether expecting a million new jobs as the economy emerges from lockdown and getting a pathetic 266,000 while the unemployment rate rises really qualifies as “Building Back Better.”
Psaki to leave after one year
By Mike Huckabee
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki let it be known that she plans to quit that job after one year.
Naturally, the media rushed to defend her (it’s their kneejerk response) by pointing out this is nothing unusual: Trump also had four spokespeople in four years. Well, as the dad of one of those spokespeople, I have a little insight into that. Trust me, Jen is not doing the same job Sarah did, not by a longshot!
I know it can’t be easy to justify and deflect this Administration’s insane and destructive policies and her boss’s constant gaffes, but it’s sure a heck of a lot easier than representing Trump in front of them. Jen actually thinks she was being unfairly pressured when they dared even to ask her about the crisis at the border! And when they did, it was questions like, “Do you think all these people are coming here because President Biden is just so wonderful that he exudes welcoming rays of love?” With Sarah, they attacked everything she said, even suggesting she was lying about baking her own pies!
I’m surprised to hear that Jen Psaki is not staying any longer than the average Trump spokesperson for the same reason I’d be surprised to learn that chocolate tasters and mattress testers have the same rates of early retirement as lion tamers and bomb defusers.
Racism in the White House
By Mike Huckabee
Isn’t it terrible when there’s someone in the White House who’s an out-and-out racist?! Oh, and to be clear to the media: I’m talking about the current occupant, not the last one.
One of the biggest obstacles to Trump’s agenda was frivolous discrimination lawsuits that delayed him for years before mostly being thrown out. Biden may find one of his biggest problems is justified discrimination lawsuits that are upheld. One of the most open-and-shut cases has just been filed by a Wisconsin dairy farmer.
The recent $1.9 trillion “COVID relief” bill included billions in loan forgiveness for farmers, but only those who are “socially disadvantaged,” a Democrat euphemism for non-white. The plaintiff is a double amputee who’s lost both feet and has to get around with a cane to feed and milk 70 cows a day, but his skin is white, which makes him “privileged.” That makes him ineligible for the loan forgiveness program that any non-white, able-bodied farmer next door could obtain.
Problem: It’s a clear violation of federal anti-discrimination laws to base loan eligibility on skin color. Remember when Democrats used to rail about racist banks that didn’t give loans to people just because they lived in black neighborhoods? They called it “red-lining.” Now, they’re following the same racist template, only with our tax money. Let’s call it “white-lining.”
The farmer’s attorney, who is also representing four other farmers, called this “out and out racist,” and said, “I really don’t think that there should be racism allowed in the federal government at any level.” He said eligibility should be based on qualifications, not race, and “if it would’ve been against any other race, everybody would’ve been onboard and would’ve been complaining immediately.”
The law firm’s website notes that the Supreme Court has already ruled on so-called reverse racism, and their verdict was, to quote the Beatles: “You Can’t Do That!”
Speaking of farmers getting the shaft from Joe Biden, when he promised all that free stuff would be paid for by taxes on the super-rich, you probably didn’t picture people in overalls who grow your meat and vegetables. Well, start picturing it.
Biden claims that his proposed estate tax hike would include an exception for family farms taken over by heirs, although that’s very vague. But he also reportedly wants to eliminate a deduction called Section 1031. It allows farmers and ranchers to defer paying capital gains taxes when they sell land if they use the money to buy other land, which many have to do because they need fresh soil and to diversify crop growth. Without that tax break, the government would take the money they need to stay in business.
Someone needs to tell the Ivy League socialists writing Biden’s tax plans that if they want to keep their kale salads, they’d better find something else to tax besides America’s struggling farmers.
Salute to Tennessee
By Mike Huckabee
Salute to the Tennessee legislature for voting overwhelmingly (but still over Democrat objections) to ban racist "Critical Race Theory" teachings from the state's schools.
Big Tech Cancel Culture News Round-Up
By Mike Huckabee
That “independent” Facebook commission that decided the ban on former President Trump should continue turns out to be (prepare to be shocked) stacked with Trump haters. They include a former editor of the leftist Guardian newspaper, several law professors, a Yemini activist and a Pakistani digital rights advocate. Sounds about as ideologically diverse as the faculty at Brown University. Or the rest of the staff at Facebook.

Trump is bypassing Facebook and Twitter by posting comments on his own new website, https://www.donaldjtrump.com/desk. Someone reportedly not on Trump’s team set up a Twitter account to post Trump’s comments, and Twitter promptly banned that, too. Then Twitter started suspending any accounts that post statements from Trump’s website. So if you actually bought their excuse that this was anything other than censorship for vindictive partisan reasons, welcome to the real world.
The Christian news outlet LifeSiteNews.com has been permanently banned from Facebook for allegedly questioning the safety of COVID-19 vaccines by quoting the government’s own Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System database.
The Canadian conservative news site RebelNews.com, which already had its videos removed by YouTube, has now had its PayPal financial service cut off with no explanation, which could put them out of business. They were accused of violating PayPal’s Terms of Service, but they say they haven’t done that in any way, and PayPal is not responding to their attorney’s requests for an explanation. They’re asking for donations to help fund a lawsuit.

PayPal even cut off service for the site’s charity “For Canada” that does nothing but raise funds for things like helping the Red Cross after a major wildfire, and the editor's personal account that he hasn't even used in years.
At the link, their editor makes the alarming but accurate point that this banning of services and forums for people who don’t parrot the government’s leftist line is an echo of China’s “social credit system,” in which people who dare to criticize the government soon find themselves blocked from being able to rent an apartment, buy a cell phone, purchase an airline ticket or do just about anything else that involves leaving their bedroom.
Communist China should not be the model for American tech companies. The government needs to intervene now, but since Democrats are in charge, that won’t happen. So two other things must happen: (1.) Americans need to switch to competing services that respect free speech and freedom of conscience and abandon these too-big-for-their-britches sites. And (2.) voters need to make sure that after 2022, Democrats are no longer in charge of anything.
Two entities that have proven beyond all doubt that they can’t be trusted with power are the Beijing government and the Democratic Party.
Trump Approved
By Mike Huckabee
Former President Trump endorsed New York Rep. Elise Stefanik to replace Liz Cheney as head of the House Republican Conference. In response, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi insulted Stefanik with the kind of sexist innuendo that if a male Republican had said it about a female Democrat, the Twitter mob would be demanding he be fired, canceled and possibly become Harvey Weinstein’s cellmate.
