I hesitate to get into this subject because it makes an easy target for liberals to accuse you of being a hysterical “religious fanatic.” But honestly, could Hollywood’s promotion of Satanism get any more blatant? Satan used to be said to hide in the shadows, but now he seems to be hogging the spotlight at every red carpet event in Tinseltown.

I’m sure you all remember the big “Pro-Satan/pro-hedonism” production number at the Grammy Awards. Or maybe you heard about the animated “comedy” series, “Little Demon,” about a single mom and her daughter whose dad is Satan and she’s the Antichrist? That was picked up by Disney for its FXX channel. The story was so unbelievable that Snopes.com fact-checked it. Yep, it was true.

Actress Aubrey Plaza, who voices the mom Laura and executive produces the show, was quoted as saying, "I love that we are normalizing paganism. Laura is a pagan. She's a witch. She's jacked."

At least Disney had the flimsy cover of claiming it was a show for adults on the FXX channel. But how do they explain this latest news, that they’ve greenlighted a German original show for Disney+ (largest viewing segment, ages 2-17) called “Pauline,” about a teenager who gets pregnant after a one-night stand with Satan? The producers tout it as a “coming of age” story. More like a “coming of the age of Armageddon” story.

Movieguide chairman and founder Ted Baehr called on parents to petition Disney+ to abort (they should like that) this series’ release, saying:

“We can’t let this twisted and disturbing content corrupt our children’s values and beliefs…If released, there will be millions of young viewers who may perceive this twisted and disturbing story as desirable and exciting…The show’s attempt to normalize and even promote demonic association is a blatant attempt to blur the lines of morality and make evil desirable.

Some actors are also starting to risk ridicule, blackballing and cancel culture by speaking out about what they have to deal with behind the scenes. The actor Tyrese suddenly took an interview promoting his new “Fast and Furious” movie in an unexpected direction, saying this:

https://youtu.be/vym1zdUqE6U

“As much as I’m supposed to be promoting this movie and talking about my album, I just feel like we’re in competition right now because they are trying to normalize the devil. The devil is on the main stage at award shows and in every video with signs and symbols. And I say, ‘You know what, we need to stop treating our relationship with Jesus like the little buddy you talk to before you go to bed at night and be more vocal about all the things that God means to us and all of the things God has brought us through’…They’re going above and beyond to promote the devil and it’s p***ing me off. The devil worshipers used to be really secretive, going down into the basement, this secret world. Now they’re just out! “

That interview prompted another writer to call back to a recent interview the media had buried with former child actress China McClain, who appeared in several Disney Channel projects. She says her openly professed Christian beliefs have gotten her blackballed in Hollywood, and she’s speaking out. She recently took to Twitter to say this:

“The entertainment industry is about influence. There is a reason why you see people dressed up as Satan. Full-on visuals of Satan, people dressed as Satan, dressed as a demon, got upside-down crosses all on (their) clothes, or pentagrams all on their clothes…They know good and god-darn well that God exists. They also know that Satan exists. They’re just counting on the fact that y’all don’t know that…They affect you. That’s what they do in (the) entertainment industry. It’s about influence. I’m not gonna sacrifice the honesty in order to be politically correct.”

And if you still think this is just a lot of overblown hand wringing over nothing, let me introduce you to gay rapper Lil Nas X’s new line of “Satan Shoes.” (He also once released a video showing him dancing provocatively with a devil, then snapping the devil’s neck and putting his horned crown on his own head.) Each pair of the black and red sneakers is made with a drop of human blood and decorated with pentagrams, upside-down crosses and the words “Luke 10:18,” a reference to this verse from the Bible: “I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven.” The shoes are priced at $1,018 a pair, and the limited edition of 666 pairs sold out in one minute.

This is so blatant that even Nike rushed to distance themselves, saying that even though they were made using Nike Air Max 97s, they had nothing to do with making them and do not endorse them. One YouTuber who bought the shoes to review them said he immediately threw them down the garbage chute to get them away from him.

It’s easy for the media to dismiss Christian protests of this blasphemous garbage, and claim we’re taking it too seriously. Indeed, one of the makers of the “Satan Shoes” said, “We all knew that some people would take the Satan element of this seriously…but I’m not sure we were entirely prepared for how much of a furor it would cause. Obviously from our perspective, it’s just fun, right? There’s a really rich wealth of symbol(ism) to work with, but some people have been very up in arms with it.”

Maybe it’s because a lot of people realize that promoting Satan to young people is not “just fun,” that this should be taken very seriously, and that Christ expects us to rebuke him forcefully.  And they’re also finally waking up to the truth of the old saying, “When someone tells you what they are, believe them.”

Believing the Word of God that God is in control and that things happen because He at least allows them does not mean I'm not left scratching my head wondering why. I was seriously wondering in 2020 whether God allowed the election outcome so that the Democrats would connive themselves into having to run the country during the Great Tribulation. (Refer to Proverbs about he who digs a pit falling into it.) I did not however state that that had to be why. This development that you describe has me wondering if perhaps the Rapture and Trib may in fact be close after all.
