BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

Bad Weather Alert: Stay Safe
By Mike Huckabee
Those of you in the South, from Texas to Florida, please keep an eye on the weather for the next few days. Forecasters are predicting strong storms with a possibility of damaging hail and tornadoes. Please take all precautions, stay safe, and remember to keep your animals safe, too.
51st State Update
By Mike Huckabee
On party lines, House Democrats passed their bill to make DC the 51st state, and let us hope that, like so many politicians who end up in the Senate, it will remain there until it dies of old age.
Naturally, supporters of the DC statehood campaign railed that the only reason anyone would oppose it is racism. This is their fallback excuse for opposition to all of their terrible ideas. They refuse to entertain the validity of the argument that it’s a blatantly unconstitutional, naked power grab that would give the people who profit most from the federal Treasury and federal power an even bigger voice in how those things are handled.
But while many opponents are pointing to the clear Constitutional ban on DC statehood, very few have cited the history and the reasoning behind why the Founders specifically created the District of Columbia and put it under the control of the federal government instead of placing the seat of the US government in any state. So let’s give thanks to Darlene Click at the Victory Girls blog for digging up that fascinating story and offering a history lesson that the left would prefer nobody learn in schools – along with a lot of other actual American history they don't want kids to learn in schools.
Earth Day: President Vows To Cut Carbon Emissions
By Mike Huckabee
Thursday, in an Earth Day virtual summit, President Biden vowed to cut US carbon emissions in half by the year 2030. I don’t think he’ll still be in office then, but it does seem like he's been there for ten years already.
In an interview with Fox News, a spokesman for the Heritage Foundation said their analysis of Biden’s plan found it very similar to what’s already been tried in Germany and California, with negative results (California has the highest gas prices and costs of living in the US, plus regular power shortages.) They estimate that it would cost far more jobs than the number of “green jobs” created. It would replace reliable energy sources such as natural gas with unreliable sources such as wind (frozen wind turbines were what caused Texas to suffer a blackout during a recent Arctic cold snap.) It would raise energy costs by about 30%, not just for consumers but for businesses that use energy, which is all of them, so that would increase costs across the board. American families would pay thousands of dollars more per year for energy and consumer goods.
At the link, Rick Moran at PJ Media examines Biden’s words and his “never mind the price, it’s an emergency, but it will pay for itself in the long run” rhetoric (sounds like he’s selling aluminum siding.) He also compares it to previous, very similar plans, warnings and promises.
I find it interesting that Democrats keep telling us that we need to be more like Europe. Well, France is in Europe, and they get over 70% of their reliable energy that doesn’t create greenhouse gases from nuclear power plants. There are 56 in France alone. Try building a new one here and see what happens.
Final postscript to Earth Day 2021: Remembering all the doomsday predictions from previous Earth Days and comparing them to reality.
2020 Arizona Vote Audit
By Mike Huckabee
Voting equipment and more than 2 million ballots have been delivered to a facility in Maricopa County, Arizona, for an audit of the 2020 vote, in which Biden was the first Democrat presidential candidate to win in decades. Workers from four audit firms will conduct the audit, which will be streamed live for public viewing on One America News Network and online at www.azaudit.org.
Despite that transparency, some officials tried to resist subpoenas for the ballots from the state Senate, but were overruled by a judge. The Democrat secretary of state claimed the audit will be “biased,” but didn’t elaborate on how.
Personally, I don’t understand all this resistance to examining ballots and voting machines. The same people who’ve assured us that it’s tantamount to treason even to voice doubt about the results of the 2020 election are now telling us we can’t trust an audit of the ballots that’s taking place right in front of our eyes. Surely they know it was the most secure, trustworthy election in American history! So why not drop all the objections and show those doubters how wrong they are, so we can all move on?
Georgia Mom Goes Viral
By Mike Huckabee
Gwinnett County, Georgia, mom Courtney Ann Taylor has gone viral and become a national celebrity overnight thanks to a video of her at a Board of Education meeting, ripping school officials for continuing to force facemasks onto children, despite mounting evidence that the coronavirus barely affects kids and masks on small children do more harm than good.
Click the link to watch that must-see video and read more about this tiger mom. And then, before you quote her and have someone sneer, “But the science” at you, read this:
It’s an interview with a Stanford University medical professor who agrees that masks on children do more harm than good, and he explains the reasons why, from the way they interfere with developmental needs of children to the fact that kids usually don’t even wear them properly.
31 Days And Counting
By Mike Huckabee
Thursday, Republicans ripped Vice President Kamala Harris for going 30 days after being put in charge of overseeing the disaster created at the border by President Biden without visiting the border or even holding a press conference.
This makes it 31 days, but the good news is, she’s finally leaving DC today. The bad news: she’s going to New Hampshire.
Someone please tell her that thousands of illegal migrants are not streaming across the Massachusetts border into Nashua.
A Reader Writes Back...
At this time of national strife I am reminded of the courageous work you did, as Governor, equalizing the sentencing of black Arkansans to correspond to the sentencing of whites. I am not aware of any comparable effort elsewhere in the nation. I wish that your strength on that issue was better known.
I was glad to have it confirmed that Officer Sicknick's death was likely natural, and not a consequence of the previous day's riot. That said, I have too much respect for those who daily put themselves at risk to keep the peace in our cities and Capitol building to feel anything but disgust for those who would blast him in the face with bear spray.
