BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
Night 3 of Rioting
By Mike Huckabee
UPDATE: After a third night of rioting in Minneapolis (sorry, CNN, but that’s the correct word)…
…approximately 60 people were arrested. Oh, and look who’s shown up to spread calmness and rationality.
And as I feared, the now-former police officer who apparently mistakenly killed Daunte Wright was identified, which has caused police to have to barricade her home to protect her and her family from violent protesters. Her neighbors have also reportedly left their homes in fear, because one of the hallmarks of leftist protesters for “justice” is attacking people who had nothing to do with whatever they’re protesting.
21 Days in Charge
By Mike Huckabee
It’s been 21 days since President Biden put Vice President Kamala Harris in charge of the disaster he’s created at the border. And in all that time, she not only hasn’t visited the border, she hadn’t even held a press conference. So it’s official: she’s now taken over all of Joe Biden's duties.
In a related story, as the border policy lawsuits keep piling up, Texas and Missouri just sued the Biden Administration to force them to reinstate Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy.
Many Health Experts Cry Foul
By Mike Huckabee
Many health experts are crying foul over the FDA and CDC’s decision to pause giving out the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine because six women developed severe blot clots after taking it. They say that’s six reactions out of 7 million doses, or a one-in-a-million risk, while to cite just one example, about one in 3,000 women have reactions to birth control pills. They also say the risk of COVID is far greater, there appears to be no risk to men, and this pause undermines public confidence in vaccines, which is already an uphill push in some areas. But there are also some other so-far “unspecified” problems with that vaccine. Here are more details on the pause and the controversy.
And the Surgeon General explaining that the pause is needed to investigate because they don’t know if the clots are related to the vaccine.
If you were leaning toward the J&J vaccine, which is one shot instead of two, this article might be of interest to you. It compares the various vaccines and describes how they work.
Here’s some welcome good news
By Mike Huckabee
Republican Julia Letlow has been sworn in as a member of Congress from Louisiana. She won a special election to replace her late husband Luke Letlow, who died of COVID-19 before having a chance to take office. That reduces the Democrat majority to 218-212. Since tie votes fail in the House, that means Nancy Pelosi can’t lose more than two votes.
There are some other special elections coming up, but Pelosi expressed confidence that getting a majority vote “won’t be a problem.” That’s because, while pundits might talk about a few moderate Democrats keeping radical left bills from passing, when the pressure is on, they usually fold like cheap card tables. So if you’re in one of those special election districts, get out and vote Republican. Don’t depend on a swinging door to hold back the flood of leftism.
We Have a Date!
By Mike Huckabee
According to this story from Townhall.com, we now have a date for when President Biden will finally address a joint session of Congress.
But hold on there, pardner! The story is that Nancy Pelosi sent Biden an invitation to address Congress on April 28th. Fox News added, "The White House has yet to formally respond to the invitation, though it can be assumed the date was agreed upon mutually with Democratic leaders."
You know what they say you do when you “assume.” Personally, I couldn’t help noticing that in Speaker Pelosi’s letter, she invited him to speak to Congress on “April 28th,” but she didn’t specify which year.
Interesting Column from Former Sen. Kelly Loeffler
By Mike Huckabee
This column by (unfortunately for America) former Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler makes an interesting point that should be highlighted.
While all these “woke” corporations are boycotting Georgia for trying to make their elections secure, the lies being told about that law are obscuring the fact that it actually makes it easier to vote legally in Georgia. In fact, it will be easier to vote there than in many blue states, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Delaware. And Delaware is not only Joe Biden’s home state (although he never accused it of practicing Jim Crow voting laws), it’s also where 65% of Fortune 500 companies are incorporated.
If they’re going to boycott Georgia for allegedly “restricting voter access,” then why are they incorporated in a state with even more restrictive voter laws? If they’re not going to be great, big hypocrites, shouldn’t they move their bases of operation and reincorporate in, say, a good liberal state like California, where taxes are sky-high but voting laws are only a suggestion?
The person responsible
By Mike Huckabee
As we watch more out-of-control violence rage through American cities, a hat tip to Ed Driscoll at Instapundit for reminding us that President Biden already pinpointed the person responsible for all of it: the guy in the White House.
A Reader Writes Back...
I agree with your reader's comment: not enough Americans do not pay attention to what's goin on in our governements (National, ate & local) and schools. Perfect example: man-on-the-street interviews by some well-known TV show hosts show just how ignorant many people are about our history, as well as our current government and events. Some don't bother to vote (PTL) and others vote informed only by the liberal MSM. Educating the masses is the most important goal for conservatives.
