Just a fantasy
Democrats have had their fantasy of jailing Donald Trump yanked away from them more times than Lucy has yanked the football away from Charlie Brown. Each time, they struggle up off their backs, dust themselves off and assure themselves that they’ll definitely get him next time.
Once again this week, media outlets went wild teeing up that football with rumors of looming indictments from a Georgia grand jury. Then the grand jury forewoman decided she wanted to be a media star and went on a whirlwind tour of liberal news channels, blabbing publicly, and in an obviously biased and unserious way, about indictments that haven't been issued yet, in an inadvertent gift to the defense attorneys. Already, Trump haters are bracing to feel their backs slam into the ground again.
Will they ever learn? Of course not. That's why it's called "Trump DERANGEMENT Syndrome."

Ohio Train Derailment Updates
Despite President Biden still not declaring an emergency in East Palestine, Ohio, the EPA announced on Tuesday that it’s taking charge and ordered the Norfolk Southern railroad to pay for a program to clean up the toxic waste spill. And if they don’t comply, the EPA will do it themselves and seek triple damages from the railroad.
…Although whether that will actually happen is an open question since, according to a report by the New Republic, Norfolk Southern has spent about $100 million on influencing the government since 1998, including over $79 million on lobbying and nearly $17 million on political contributions, some to the very people who would have to “hold them accountable.”
The EPA likely had to step in, if not to clean up the toxic waste spill then to clean up the toxic PR for the Biden Administration. Three weeks after the spill, Biden has yet to visit the town, and when Presidents’ Day found him in Ukraine, giving $500 million in aid to people in another country, that was pretty much the last straw for many residents and for the mayor.

In fact, former President Trump is on track to visit the town before the current President ever does. Trump plans to meet today with locals and donate thousands of gallons of cleaning supplies and more than a dozen pallets of water. Speaking of bad PR for Biden, this just underscores complaints circulating on the right that Biden doesn’t care about small town Ohioans because they tend to be Trump voters, and if this had happened in a minority neighborhood or a blue city, the feds would have swooped in to help on day one.
“Transportation Secretary” Pete Buttigieg, facing rising calls for his firing or impeachment over his dismissive comments and lack of action for over a week, told CBS that he’s been all over this derailment issue from the beginning. He claims he was just so focused on the federal response that he should “have spoken sooner about how strongly I felt about this incident, and that’s a lesson learned for me.” I think if you believe that, you are incapable of learning a lesson.
Finally, here’s how bad the Biden and EPA response to the disaster has been: Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell actually agree on how awful they are!

A New, Interesting Presidential Candidate
There’s another Republican candidate for President in 2024. Tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy announced his candidacy last night on Tucker Carlson’s show.
Ramaswamy said his first priority in office would be to repeal Lyndon Johnson’s executive order mandating “affirmative action,” or race-based quotas. He said, “Every Republican since Johnson had the opportunity to do it. I’ll do it on Day 1 without apology."
His platform also would involve addressing a "national identity crisis" that includes "faith, patriotism, and hard work" being replaced by gender ideology, a focus on climate change, and "COVID-ism." He said he would dismantle the climate change agenda, put an 8-year limit on federal bureaucrats, eliminate "worthless" federal agencies, make America totally independent of China, protect political expression as a civil right, and combat and annihilate drug cartels. And I’m sure we could count on him to stand up to the “woke” mob, which is what he’s most famous for.
Interesting platform, and for those who think he doesn’t have a chance, I’ll point out that according to Forbes, he has a net worth of $600 million, which I can assure you from experience definitely helps. The media also completely dismissed the chances of another wealthy outsider from the business world in 2016. At least the GOP race is getting more interesting by the moment. The Democrat side is just getting weirder, with Biden reportedly planning to run for reelection at 82 on the theme that the Democrats are competent and the Republicans are crazy (run that by one of the millions of people who’ve been fleeing blue states for red states.)
The announcement had barely been made before some on the right began attacking Ramaswamy, calling him a “Soros plant” and other pejoratives. Bonchie at Redstate.com examines those claims and finds scant evidence for them.

Democrats lose their minds over J6 video release
On Monday, Tucker Carlson announced that his producers were given access by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to over 40,000 hours of Capitol Hill video from January 6. He said they’ve already been looking at it for a week and are taking this week to comb through the rest of it. Reports are planned for next week.
In the meantime, Democrats can hardly contain their fury. This is after the same material was given to the Democrats for their impeachment (the second one) of Trump and also for the hearings of the J6 Kangaroo Kommittee.
Their fury is born of fear.
Late Monday night, Nick Arama at Redstate.com wrote about California Rep. Adam Schiff’s panic over this. Tucker had said during his announcement that it was impossible for him to understand “why any honest person would be bothered” by it. Logically, no honest person WOULD be bothered by it, not in the slightest, but Schiff is. Make of that what you will.
Schiff tweeted on Monday: “Kevin McCarthy turned over Jan 6 videos to right-wing propagandist Tucker Carlson. A man who spews Kremlin talking points. Suggests Jan 6 was a false flag. And spreads the Big Lie. Make no mistake, this isn’t about transparency, it’s about spreading dangerous conspiracy theories.”
Where to start? Schiff is the former head of the House Intelligence Committee who repeatedly lied about having evidence (“more than circumstantial”) that Trump was colluding with Russians.

His conduct was so egregious that he’s since been stripped of his committee membership. Schiff made himself a household name by promoting a conspiracy theory himself --- that of Trump being in league with Vladimir Putin. This has been revealed as a giant hoax, but apparently the news has reached everyone except Schiff and a few other shameless partisans.
When Schiff mentions the Big Lie, I actually think of three, and all were perpetuated by Democrats. The first, championed by Schiff, was that Trump was an agent of Russia who colluded with Vladimir Putin to win in 2016. The second, also championed by Schiff, was that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation, designed to help Trump win re-election in 2020.
The third, also championed by Schiff, was that Trump desperately clung to power after losing the 2020 election by orchestrating a coup on January 6, 2021, and that there was sufficient evidence to charge him with crimes.
All of these were Big Lies. Schiff did his part to keep them going.
When the J6 footage was given over to House Democrats, it was for use in staged events that were in themselves huge propaganda pieces. They even hired two top ABC News producers to create the edited videos for their nationally-televised J6 hearings.
So complaining now about right-wing propaganda is downright comical. We just want to find out what happened on Capitol Hill during that 24-hour period.
If January 6 truly was a false flag, this video very likely will provide evidence of that. If, on the other hand, it provides no evidence of any false flag operation, Schiff should be very happy to see that notion discouraged. So why does he seem so nervous?
As Arama said of Schiff, “if he cared about the truth, he’d welcome the release. But to Schiff, the truth is just something to lie about, to achieve his political aims.”
Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell pointed out that “Schiff is always against transparency.” But this time, Schiff is not in control.
In an update on Tuesday, Arama wrote that “Schiff wasn’t the only member of the partisan witch hunt Jan. 6 committee throwing a tantrum over the release.” Tearful Adam Kinzinger (“who is thankfully gone from Congress,” Arama said) was also throwing a hissy fit. Kinzinger tweeted: “So Kevin McCarthy shared the surveillance footage, not with the rest of congress, investigators, or anyone like that. It was Tucker Carlson. The ‘elisestefanik’ing’ of McCarthy has been breathtaking, and not the man I thought I knew before Trump. Lies lies lies”
With all the words leftists are trying to remove from the English language (a la Newspeak), it’s nice to know they’re adding words as well: in this case, the verb “elisestefanik.’ I assume the meaning is “to move to the right.” Well, for McCarthy, that can only be a good thing.
What Kinzinger tweeted doesn’t make sense. The Democrats in Congress already had full access to the video, and they wouldn’t share it except for strategically selected and edited snippets. His complaint only serves to remind us of that and imply they weren’t there to fact-find, only to damage Trump. “He can’t start crying now,” Arama said, “when he’s the one exposing what a failure he and his Committee were.”
To round out this discussion, THE BLAZE quotes a number of Democrats who really should just go into a medically induced coma for the next few weeks as news comes out about what is in this video. They just can’t handle the anxiety.
Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson, who chaired the J6 committee, said in a statement that “it’s hard to overstate the potential security risks if this material were to be used irresponsibly.” He repeated Schiff’s talking point about Tucker spreading “misinformation” and referred to “Putin’s poisonous propaganda.” (Nice addition of alliteration!)
Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin, who blamed the J6 attack on the Electoral College system, asked, “What security precautions were taken to keep this from becoming a roadmap for 2024 insurrection?” (Editorial comment: REALLY??) He also said he could “smell the MAGA propaganda coming.”
Mulvaney, a former spokesperson for the J6 committee, said the committee had treated the video with “great sensitivity” and that “it’s hard to overstate the potential security risks if this material were used irresponsibly.” To that, a McCarthy spokesperson responded that, “Unlike the previous Democrat majority, the House Republicans will treat the security of the Capitol separate from partisan political interests.”

RELATED: Since Hunter’s laptop being “Russian disinformation” was mentioned above as one of the Big Lies perpetuated by Democrats, we have a couple of updates for you on that. First, Michael LaRosa, spokesman for Jill Biden --- sorry, “Dr.” Jill Biden --- has left her staff to join a Democrat nonprofit started by Media Matters founder David Brock and hilariously called “Facts First USA.” He’ll serve as a senior adviser, reportedly to help the White House “navigate the House GOP’s investigations amid the drama surrounding first son Hunter Biden.”
Facts First USA, it says on their website, aims to act as a “Truth SWAT-team” to counter the “bad-faith lies and misinformation.” brought to you by the GOP. I suppose they’d be all over us just for putting quotations around “Dr.” above, even though it was just a joke and everyone knows Jill Biden has a doctorate in education. Why anyone would want to publicize their doctorate in education these days, we don’t know. That was another joke. Sort of.
To give you an idea of how fact-based LaRosa’s strategy is, he’s a former producer for Chris Matthews on MSNBC and also touted the acuity of Senate candidate John Fetterman to quell fears about his fragility ahead of the election. “The guy is a political athlete, one of the best ones I’ve ever seen,” LaRosa said. Facts first, my shiny behind. (Fetterman just joined the Senate last month and after missing sessions and being unable to understand what people were saying is now in the hospital for a stay of at least several weeks for clinical depression.)
Anyway, the story linked below outlines several ties to the Bidens and Clintons, who, as we know, have always taken an extremely fact-based approach to politics. The website says, “We will work to reach the limit of the right-wing rage machine --- to keep it within their own echo chamber rather than allowing it to become part of the mainstream media coverage.” Just what we need, more attempts at limiting what voters can hear. Another thing that occurred to us is that it’s very hard to say “right-wing rage” five times fast. Try it!
Also, Steve Krakauer has an op-ed for FOX NEWS analyzing the media’s shameful treatment of the Hunter laptop story. Highly recommended reading. It appeared in conjunction with the release of his new book, “UNCOVERED: How the Media Got Comfortable with Power, Abandoned Its Principles, and Lost the People,” which should be a textbook for every Journalism 101 class but, sadly, won’t be.
