“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

It is precisely their lack of respect for law , order and the Constitution in the entire election process that caused all of this in the first place. Anyone with a brain could have seen this coming. Constant Demonization for the last 5 years. Now they are being told they are brainwashed conspiracy theory nuts and that their grievances should be completely and totally ignored, mocked and laughed at. What did you think would happen after these people have been treated like low class dirt and told to shut up and that the Politicians have zero concern over their grievances. Sorry. The democrats could have avoided all of this had they simply and sincerely addressed those grievances. They would have had the perfect opportunity to make Trump look like a fool and settle the issue once and for all had they been open enough to agree to look into the matter.. They were not. Now there are 4 people dead and millions of people who will not be Governed by an *Beijing Biden administration. Blood is on their hands and they are at fault! Ah yes, lets forcefully remove Trump from office, expel Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley..No that won't look like a left wing coup.
As if it couldn't get worse.. My bet is the media and the dems will use this incident to justify more censorship and punish all those that do not tow their line. They will paint them as enemies of our Grand democracy they don't care about and use that as justification to turn the screws on anyone who dares to speak out. And you don't think that will cause more violence?

I am furious the rioters at the Capitol are being called “Trump Supporters” by some news people even Fox!! Have you watched how Trump’s supporters are always peaceful & never engage in violence. This is Antifa most of it. They are dressing with Trump hats etc. Also these delinquent’s I believe are being paid to do this. George Soros I believe is behind it. Same old thing they are doing to keep President from getting elected. He WON this election & it was STOLEN from him but more importantly the American people abt 74 million of us!This news on Fox is crap & people have & are leaving Fox! I could say a lot more abt this garbage!

Completely disappointed with our republican representatives and will never vote for them again either. They were hire to protect us and they and the Supreme Court failed us! The few that tried like Texas Cruz can’t do it alone-so disappointed with the other chickens!

I feel like maybe President Trump has been let down by the American people. And he is feeling so depressed that he is taking it out a little bit on his vice president. I am extremely unhappy with the results of this election that I am positive is fraudulent but my God is in control and I will live for my God. I will pray for President Trump to come back to us in four years with renewed strength to bring America back to greatness. I will also say prayers for Biden and prayers that the American people will unite in turning to God with prayers and in peace.

How do you think Trump should have handled this? He wanted them to be peaceful. What would you have said or done? There were so many people there no matter what he said they probably wouldn't have heard him.

Whoever participated in the capital rioting needs to be arrested and charged with criminal charges. I need to bring up that many of those who participated might be part of Antifa and not all Trump supporters. What would be better for them than to have President Trump and his supporters trashed for what they are doing to incite violence. I saw many with those helmets that Antifa participants use and many with plain red hats. An FBI leader interviewed said the same thing.

I have seen enough of Trump, BRING IN THE CLOWNS! Trump's high point for me was the 4th of July celebration at Mt Rushmore. Let's stop defending the lawlessness and the total lack of oversight over the protesters. I realize the damage was done by a minority of the demonstrators but we are responsible through our negligence in controlling the mob. Deaths occurred and their blood is on Trump's hands.

Rioting & destruction of cities and private businesses and property...no accountability.
A constant 4-year barrage of negative reporting by most of the media...no accountability.
Changing of voting rules & procedures by unelected bureaucrats...no accountability.
Elected officials who went along to get along...no accountability.
Unverified voting irregularities and outright fraud by ballot handlers...no accountability.

I don't understand with all the affidavits and forensic investigations how the media and Socialists (pardon me, Democrats) can say there was "no" fraud. Please explain. I put some of the blame on Pelosi who started in on Trump 4 years ago. Add Soros, BLM and Antifa in the mix and last night's protests (oh, if you might be white or Republican--but who knows who they were?--they were riots) were just a culmination of mistreatment of anything Conservative for 4 years. The storming of Congress was wrong, but I suspect the perpetrators were not the Support-Trump protesters. There are right-wing anti-government people just like those left-wing thugs. Media should be honest (sorry, wishful thinking on my part) and report, not editorialize, who these people were. I guess there is no such thing as investigative reporting in this day and age.

I am not a lawyer. I only hope that an investigation can still go forward and justice can be done. It is troubling that we would have an administration in government by fraudulent means. I am a Christian and know God is in control. It is imperative that as Christians keep our eyes on the Author and Finisher of our faith.
