President Trump Returns To The Border
By Mike Huckabee
Former President Trump joined Sean Hannity and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on the Texas border for a townhall on the illegal immigration crisis caused by President Biden’s reversal of Trump’s border security policies (and no, that’s not an op-ed, it’s a statement of fact.)
Trump said, “It was over,” we’d stemmed the flood of drugs, criminals and illegal immigration, and then Biden reversed all that within months. Trump called it a “disgrace.”
The full episode isn’t online yet, but here’s a long clip of it:

Incidentally, this isn’t just a crisis for US national sovereignty or law and order. It’s also a humanitarian crisis for the migrants, who took Biden’s words and actions as a signal to rush in. In addition to the overcrowded, unhygienic and unsafe detention conditions, as the story notes, 202 bodies have been found so far this year of migrants who died from the harsh journey, and it’s getting worse due to the extreme summer heat. Several bodies recently have tested positive for COVID and some appear to have suffered from heat exhaustion and dehydration.
Some GOP House members did what VP Kamala Harris hasn’t: they actually traveled to the worst areas to see the crisis for themselves. One said that seeing what’s happening with children there made her want to cry.
I fail to see how policies that led to the current tragic situation for all concerned are more “compassionate” than simple border security, just like every other nation maintains.
Office Problems
By Mike Huckabee
Usually, you have to get a few years into an Administration before disgruntled staffers start leaking negative comments about their boss to the media. Maybe the Trump haters set a new precedent, although I get the feeling they were already waiting and primed to undermine him before he even moved into the White House. But the partisanship toward Kamala Harris is normally so over-the-top positive that when you see stories like this, you have to think, wow, she must be REALLY bad at her job!

Politico (NOT a rightwing website) cited interviews with 22 current and former Harris aides who describe the Vice President’s office as a “tense and at times dour office atmosphere” where "ideas are ignored or met with harsh dismissals and decisions are dragged out." As a result, morale is low and aides are struggling to communicate with top staffers. Even Harris’ political allies reportedly have difficulty reaching her.
One source said, "People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment. It’s not a healthy environment, and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like (bleep.)" Imagine the media outrage if staffers had described Mike Pence's office like that.
Much of the blame is being placed on Harris’ chief of staff Tina Flournoy, although if things are that bad, you’d think some of the blame might be placed on the person who hired her and allowed the situation to fester. When you add this to her recent embarrassing trip to Central America and her refusal to deal with the border crisis, a picture is emerging of someone who’s “not ready for primetime” when it comes to executive leadership skills. That’s particularly worrisome when she’s second in line to a Chief Executive who is increasingly looking to be ready for bedtime.
Must-See Video
By Mike Huckabee
An Arizona state Democratic Representative mocked the dangers of communism and insisted that “white supremacy” is the biggest threat to America. Then Republican Rep. Quang Nguyen, a Vietnamese immigrant who escaped communism but whose family members were not so lucky, came to the microphone and took him to school. And I mean real school, not the kind that teaches kids how bad America is and how cool communism is.
Congratulations To Gary Sinise
By Mike Huckabee
Congratulations to a true American patriot and Huck’s Hero, Gary Sinise, whose foundation to help veterans and first responders is celebrating its 10th anniversary. It’s almost impossible to count up all the good and all the people he’s helped in that time, but this article will give you an idea.
Gary was my guest on TBN in 2019, and we talked about why he supports our veterans and why he’s such a grateful American. The entire interview was too long for the show, so we posted it in full to YouTube as a digital exclusive that you can watch here, and I hope you will.
A Good Day For Conservatives In The Supreme Court
By Mike Huckabee
It was a good day for conservatives in the Supreme Court, with two 6-3 rulings in our favor. I already wrote about the SCOTUS upholding Arizona’s voter integrity law against DNC opposition. The wider meaning of the ruling is that you can’t get a law overturned just by claiming it has a disparate impact on minorities; you have to show that it was enacted with the intent of discrimination. Today’s Democrats like to claim that racism is the intent of every action, but actually proving it may be a lot harder.
Later, the SCOTUS issued its final ruling of this term, striking down California’s requirement that charities have to disclose their major donors to the state Attorney General’s office. The Court found that it burdened donors’ First Amendment rights and wasn’t narrowly tailored to an important government interest. Proponents claimed it promoted “transparency,” but conservative, religious and pro-life charities suspected that the information would quickly be leaked, and then leftist thugs like Antifa would use it to dox and threaten their donors, intimidating them into cutting off those groups’ funding.
Not all of the Court's recent decisions went the way I’d like, but at least enough did to keep hope alive that the courts do offer a viable path to block the left’s massive power grabs. Or at least hold them at bay until the 2022 election, when I hope and pray the voters will remove the people who are drunk on power from behind the wheel.
