"Democrats Say The Darnedest Things" Dept
During an appearance at Columbia University, Nancy Pelosi had a slip of the tongue and referred to Hillary Clinton as the President.
She also claimed that Hillary was the person Putin feared most. That was another slip of the tongue. She meant to say, “Bill”…“the person BILL feared most.”
In a Washington Post puff piece, President Biden was praised for his disastrous foreign policy by both the writer and various Democrats, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken. He was hailed for not relying on “sweeping theories or cut-and-dried principles” or even experts’ advice, in making foreign policy decisions, but on his “long-honed” “instincts.”
I assume they’re the same instincts that won him the reputation of being wrong on every foreign policy issue for the past half century.
Not to be outdone, Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd said of Biden, “He’s got fluency on foreign policy that gives him confidence — he knows he can win the argument.” Of course, it’s easier to win when you’re arguing with someone who’s not actually there.
Finally, Trump Derangement Syndrome terminal case George Conway declared that “millions of Americans pretend Trump is a sane human being.”
Don’t mind George. He’s just jealous because nobody pretends that he’s a sane human being.
Not Even Texas Is Safe
The Texas Medical Board suspended the medical license of ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. Eric Hensen of Palestine, Texas, for refusing to force all of his patients to wear facemasks because some literally could not breathe with a mask over their noses and mouths.
And this, children, is why you don’t let bureaucrats in far-off cities make medical decisions that apply to 100% of patients, whom they have never even met.
Disney Frustration
I recently suggested that “Get woke, go broke” should be amended for some people to “Get woke, go broke, learn nothing.” I’d say that Disney CEO Bob Iger is one of those people.
This week, Disney held a shareholders’ meeting, and a number of stockholders unloaded their frustrations on Iger for tanking Disney's share price by alienating families who are Disney’s traditional customers with their “not-so-secret gay agenda” and opposition to anti-grooming laws in Florida. But Iger still refused to budge.
Despite having to cut 7,000 jobs to slash $5 billion from the budget, Iger still claimed “diversity is a real priority for us” (there will be a diverse range of people in the unemployment line soon), and “A company has a right to freedom of speech just like an individual does.” And like an individual, if he uses his freedom of speech to say something stupid enough to his customers, he’ll go broke. And Iger attacked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as “not just anti-Florida but anti-business” for (1.) thinking parents should have a right to some say over their kids’ lives and education; and (2.) trying to make Disney follow the same rules as every other business.
Iger apparently thinks he’s outsmarted DeSantis by pulling a last-minute sneaky legal maneuver to keep Florida from rescinding Disney’s control over the area where its parks lay, but legal analysts say it might delay the takeover by a couple of months at most, but will ultimately fail. In the meantime, DeSantis is once again showing he doesn’t suffer fools lightly and has now ordered an investigation of Disney for potential criminal wrongdoing.

Good News/Bad News
The Good news is that a new UK edition of the perennial bestseller “Gone With The Wind” will actually be Margaret Mitchell’s original text without a lot of “woke” revisions and edits. The bad news: it will include a lengthy “trigger warning” at the beginning to warn readers that there are “white supremacist” aspects of the story and “hurtful or indeed harmful phrases and terminology.”
Thank goodness someone finally thought to warn readers of “Gone With The Wind” that it was set in a time when people owned slaves! Frankly, my dear, I don’t know how else they would know.
The Woke CMT awards
The CMT Awards’ heavy-handed woke political messaging, including a number by Kelsea Ballernini with three drag queens in LGBTQ rainbow colors (just days after a trans person murdered six Christians in Nashville) got the show trending on social media, but likely not in the way the producers intended. The phrase that trended afterward was “Country music is dead.”
I have zero interest in defending that show, or much of what passes for country music these days, but I will defend real country music. As long as we have recordings of Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn and all the many other greats, country music will NEVER die. And real country music is still alive and well. Just don’t expect to find it on the CMT Awards. You’d be better off watching my show instead, where artists like these boys are keeping it alive…
