DAILY BIBLE VERSE
Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
Psalm 42:11

Joe Biden's Economy
While Democrats in Congress focus like a laser beam on the only known GOP riot in history, the Labor Department just announced that inflation in May hit 8.6% from one year before. Economists had predicted 8.3%. Prices rose a full 1% in May alone. That’s the fastest rate of inflation in 41 years, since December of 1981.

There has been a strong rise in hourly wages, but it’s more than offset by rising prices. On an annual basis, real wages dropped 3% in May due to inflation eating up earnings.
Here’s where some of it is going: Redfin reports that for the first time in history, the median monthly rent in the US has surpassed $2,000. That’s 15% higher than one year ago.

In a related story, a new Quinnipiac University poll found that Americans ranked inflation as their most urgent issue, outranking gun violence by 2-1 (surprisingly, nobody named blaming Trump for the January 6th riot as the most urgent issue.) While a large majority support raising the legal age to buy a gun to 21, only half support a ban on so-called “assault weapons,” which is the lowest number since 2013. And Biden’s approval rating sank to 33% among Americans and 35% among registered voters, tying the lowest rating he’s ever received in this poll.
I’ll tie this all up with my favorite meme so far to be inspired by the January 6 Committee Show: “When someone suggests that I ‘Remember January 6,” I remember that gas was $2.19 a gallon.”
Speaking of gas prices
Thursday, the company behind the popular gas price tracking app Gasbuddy announced that for the first time ever, the average price of gas in America topped $5.00 a gallon. For drivers in some states, that must sound like a bargain. The most expensive is (surprise!) California, where as of this morning, the average price of a gallon of regular is $6.42, and the most expensive in the state is $7.799.

But never fear, President Biden has a plan: force everyone to buy electric cars when we’re already facing electricity shortages that have experts warning of widespread blackouts this summer. Okay, it’s not a good plan, but at least it’s better than what Congress is working on: trying to blame a three-hour riot that happened 17 months ago on a President who’s been out of office for 16 months. At least Biden will save Californians a little gas: thanks to his trip to the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, the southbound lane of the Pacific Coast Highway was shut down. You’re welcome, Californians!
No video
The D.A. of Napa County, California, announced that no video of the arrest of Nancy Pelosi’s wealthy husband Paul Pelosi for DUI will be released at this time because it’s an “ongoing investigation.” No decision has yet been made on whether he’ll face criminal charges, although I suspect the odds are a lot lower than if he were a working class Republican.

By the way, the major reason I’m running this story is because a fake story swept the Internet that the charges had been dropped. A lot of people understandably found that easy to believe, but it wasn’t true. Not yet, at least.
Biden to reverse another Trump policy
The Biden Administration has found another Trump policy to reverse, this time in Israel. And for them, it serves double duty by not only reversing Trump, but also signaling weakness and rewarding Palestinian leaders for a wave of deadly terrorism.

Interesting suggestion from Mike Pompeo
Here’s an interesting suggestion from former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for preventing school shootings that might actually make a difference: giving jobs to US military veterans as school mentors, character coaches and after school instructors.
https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/veterans-schools-shootings-safety-uvalde-texas
Pompeo says these vets can not only help model standards of behavior that are sorely lacking in schools these days – “leadership, compassion, courage, love of freedom, and the importance of health and fitness” – but also increase school security because they are trained to spot and evaluate potential threats and counter them before they occur.
Might I also add that they're trained in the safe and effective use of firearms. Oh, but having armed security officers in school won’t help stop shooters, or so the left claims. Tell that to the elementary school students in Gadsden City, Alabama, who may not have been alive today if it weren’t for their school having locked doors and an on-site security officer.
A man trying to “aggressively enter” the school tried several doors but couldn’t get in. The principal saw him and altered the school security officer who called police for backup. The would-be school invader engaged the police and was shot dead. No children or teachers were harmed.
Here’s a warning for parents
Just because you send your kids to a self-proclaimed “Christian university,” that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re being taught in a way that’s consistent with Biblical teachings. In some cases, they might be openly hostile to it. Like this story involving Emory University, which I also warn that you will likely find quite offensive.
New Kind of Gas Tax
There are three reasons that you should read this story by Alex Parker at Redstate.com on a move by New Zealand’s government to tax farmers on the gas their livestock pass. (1.) It illustrates so well the insane zealotry of today’s radical green movement; (2.) It shows just how oppressive and intrusive governments can become if you don’t have a Bill of Rights to rein them in; and (3.) It’s hilarious if you’re immature enough to appreciate how many flatulence jokes Parker works into it.
