BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

Prayers for Dan Crenshaw

By Mike Huckabee

I hope you’ll all join me in offering prayers for Rep. Dan Crenshaw, who underwent emergency surgery Friday for a detached retina in his left eye. Crenshaw says the surgery went well, but having lost his right eye when he sustained life-threatening injuries in an IED explosion while serving as a US Navy SEAL in Afghanistan, he will be effectively blind for a month or so. During this time, he won’t be making public appearances.

Crenshaw released a statement that you can read in full at the link. He’s a genuine American hero and a terrific Congressman, and I hope and pray he’s fully recovered and back to work as soon as possible. Boy, do we need him now!

Social Media:  Biased Publishers NOT Neutral Platforms

By Mike Huckabee

With the election of Joe Biden and the Democrats, the leftist social media CEOs of Silicon Valley are no longer even bothering to pretend that they obey the federal law that requires them to act as a neutral platform, not a biased publisher. The latest example is one of the most outrageous yet.

Last month, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a roundtable discussion with some medical experts about COVID-19 and what the so-called medical authorities such as the WHO and the CDC got wrong or right. They questioned the value of mask-wearing, particularly for young children and people who were already vaccinated; the lockdowns of schools and businesses; and slammed the ideas of a “vaccine passport” and forcing vaccinations on people who’ve already had the disease, saying that they’re actually undermining trust in public health and leading to fewer people getting vaccinated.

Now, if you read this newsletter regularly, or have a brain, you probably think those are perfectly reasonable areas for discussion. But not YouTube, which yanked a TV news story offline just for including video of the discussion. YouTube said it was removed “because it included content that contradicts the consensus of local and global health authorities regarding the efficacy of masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

The people in the video were not untrained quacks. They were professors of medicine from Harvard, Stanford and Oxford Universities. But according to YouTube, they are not qualified to question the "consensus" of the same “settled science” crowd that admitted last week, after a year of obsessively scrubbing everything we touch with disinfectant, that your chances of getting COVID-19 from touching an infected surface are only about 1 in 10,000.

But YouTube is hardly alone: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is pushing for federal regulations to make social media platforms legally liable for spreading “misinformation” (now redefined as “things leftists disagree with”), which would conveniently make it nearly impossible for any new start-ups to challenge established giants like Facebook. Note to kids who love socialism but don’t know what it is: billionaires using their connections with a corrupt government to crush any upstart competition is a hallmark of socialism.

So what is it about these tech nerds-turned-Silicon Valley billionaires that makes them think they know what’s objectively true and correct (more so even than a Harvard Professor of Medicine), and that anyone who questions them is dangerously ignorant and must be silenced – apart from being leftists, where that comes with the territory?

Roger Simon at the Epoch Times has a theory: they’re “Asperger’s Fascists.” He suggests that many of them suffer from Asperger’s Syndrome, meaning they’re very bright and understand science and business, but have difficulty with social interaction and nonverbal communication. They operate within a narrow world of restrictive and repetitive patterns of behaviors and interests, mostly limited to technology and political correctness. Having decided what they believe is correct, they're determined to use the money and power technology has given them to force everyone to comply, so there will be no disturbing, chaotic clashes of ideas from people who prefer freedom of thought and the right to question authority and point out when they think it’s wrong.

Of course, while this sounds eerily plausible, it’s just a layman’s diagnosis. Simon isn’t a Harvard medical professor. Although, come to think of it, to the people he’s talking about, even being a Harvard medical professor is meaningless if you question what they believe.

Hunter Biden

By Mike Huckabee

Hunter Biden not only got a lucrative book deal (one of the favorite piggy banks that big media use to line the pockets of their chosen politicians), but he’s been enjoying fawning interviews from the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, who nod along as he poo-poos all that meaningless nonsense about his laptop, drug addiction, prostitutes and high-level corrupt business dealings with foreign governments.

Greg Gutfeld had some interesting commentary about this on his weekend show.

Toward the end of that clip, conservative comic Michael Loftus makes a great point that Hunter Biden is the poster child for the modern Democratic Party: rotten at the core, but everyone pretends it’s not. Like the way Hunter can get kicked out of the military for doing crack, then get put on the board of Amtrak. Loftus compared it to an intervention where, instead of telling the subject that he has a problem and needs help, they tell him, “It’s okay! You’re doin’ awesome!”

To be clear, as a Christian, I am a firm believer in forgiveness and redemption. But first come other steps, like humility, confession and asking for forgiveness. You shouldn’t expect forgiveness, redemption and vast Earthly rewards while you’re still covering up your sins and lying about them.

Kurt Schlichter has a new column about this at Townhall.com that’s brutal even by his standards, but his rage is understandable. He takes a look back at recent glaring examples of how our justice system has been completely corrupted into two tiers, one where well-connected liberals and favored groups (Hillary Clinton, Hunter Biden, Antifa, BLM, etc.) can blatantly violate the laws and skate away to riches and acclaim; and another where the rest of us (Trump staffers and voters, people who merely show guns to protect themselves from Antifa thugs etc.) face relentless prosecution, even if it requires fabricating evidence to obtain bogus warrants (and when they do that, they face little or no consequences.)

Worse, President Biden is doubling down by calling for new, heavily-enforced background checks on law-abiding gun buyers while it's been reported that his own son lied about his arrest record on a gun background check with zero consequences.

Schlichter believes the media lionization of Hunter Biden is deliberate, to send a message to us about what they think they can get away with and we'd just better get used to it. I’m not sure about that, but I agree when he predicts that it won’t work out the way they think. The American people may be feeling demoralized right now, but as the 2022 elections near, I believe they’ll shake that off and turn their righteous anger at all this hypocrisy into action at the polls.

For four years, some pundits warned Trump Derangement Syndrome Democrats that if they didn’t take a hard look at themselves to understand why so many people voted for Trump and correct it, and if all they did was attack Trump and people who voted for him, then they really weren’t going to like what came after Trump. The first two things already came to pass. Will the third?

Proof: Running a business is harder than running your mouth

By Mike Huckabee

It appears that college student/gun control activist David Hogg has discovered that running a business is a lot harder than running your mouth, so after just a few months, he’s already exited the “progressive” pillow company he created to drive MyPillow (and somehow, Fox News) out of business.

The fact that he announced that he is releasing all his shares in a pillow company that not only doesn’t have shares, it doesn’t even have pillows, was not a good sign that he’s learned enough about business yet to open a lemonade stand. His partner claims that he will somehow soldier on without Hogg’s invaluable contributions and will begin manufacturing their so-called “GoodPillows” as soon they figure out how to obtain a trademark or how or where to make pillows. Although I don’t know why anyone would want a pillow that’s guaranteed not to let you rest easy because, whoever you are, you’re a racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic Nazi.

If you’d like to relive this hilarious leftwing pipe dream from the start, here’s Jim Treacher’s February column at PJ Media that showed what happens when you convince yourself that having a Twitter account means you actually know things.

Best part: when Hogg asked for suggestions for a good place to locate the factory, he said, “States that are not California (cost of living is too high.)” Gee, I wonder why?! Try a red state like Texas or Florida, where they don’t impose so many taxes and regulations that it’s like smothering start-up businesses with a pillow.

Brave Statement of the Obvious

By Mike Huckabee

If a society of leading physicists issued a press release stating that gravity exists, the response would likely be, “Why are they wasting our time telling us such an obvious truth that everyone should already know?” But these days, when a society of medical experts releases a statement that there are only two sexes, male and female, and that biological sex differences are real and measureable, they probably expect to be treated as heretics, like Copernicus when he dared claim that the Earth wasn’t the center of the universe.

It’s a measure of how corrupted medical science has become by politics and pressure from LGBTQ+ activists that it should be considered courageous or even necessary for the Endocrine Society, a group of 18,000 endocrine clinical specialists and researchers, to make such an obvious statement. Of course, they also felt compelled to add a lot of caveats about how this doesn’t refer to gender identity or sexual orientation, and that “male” and “female” refer to biological sex, not “gender.” Blah-blah-blah, but that’s all to cushion the really explosive news here: that men and women are biologically different! Stop the presses! And the Presidential executive orders letting men who “identify” as women compete in girls’ sports!

The Society says that recognizing that people are born either with XY or XX chromosomes (i.e, “male or female”) is vital for public health because there are so many differences that “affect virtually every aspect of medicine and biomedical research.” Not only the countless physical differences in male and female bodies, but that males and females react to diseases differently, experience pain differently, metabolize drugs differently and on and on.

Let’s hope that with this brave “The emperor is naked” moment, the Endocrine Society is signaling a long-overdue pushback against replacing medical science with politically correct magical thinking. Not that long ago, who could have imagined that saying, “Sex is a biological concept,” would be considered a revolutionary statement?

How could you possibly wish someone like Hogg on Fla or Texas? For Shame!
