BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
We Are All Neanderthals Now
By Mike Huckabee
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott fired back at President Biden for calling his lifting of the state’s facemask mandate “neanderthal thinking.”
Abbott made two good points: First, that’s not something a President should be saying (particularly one whose sole qualification for replacing the previous President was his claim that he doesn't call people names), and second, the biggest COVID threat in Texas right now is coming from Biden himself.
He’s the one who’s brought back the terrible immigration policies that are igniting a new wave of illegal border crossings, with those captured being released inside the US. And we know some of the ones recently picked up tested positive for COVID-19. Some of them got on buses in Brownsville and headed deeper into the US, with the city saying it didn’t have the authority to stop them.
You know, you’d think that even a Neanderthal would have enough sense not to just stand around doing nothing when something threatening entered his family’s cave. That’s a good way to get eaten by a saber-toothed tiger.
Angry Democrat Rep. Wants More Arrests
By Mike Huckabee
Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee is angry that only about 300 people have been arrested for the rioting in the Capitol on January 6th when there were 40,000 Trump supporters in town that day “with the mindset to overturn a legitimate election and to kill the Speaker, the Vice President, and Members of Congress…What kind of justice is that?”
I can’t believe I have to explain this to someone over the age of five, much less a Congress member of over 25 years' standing, but here goes:
They weren’t arrested because they didn’t commit a crime. What you’re pushing is called “guilt by association,” an idea Democrats used to oppose. The 40,000 peaceful pro-Trump protesters were just exercising their First Amendment rights, which they have a right to do…you know, under the First Amendment.
One Twitter commenter suggested that Lee was advocating arresting people just for thinking. I can see how that would be advantageous for politicians like her.
Biden's Choices
By Mike Huckabee
President Biden’s OMB pick Neera Tanden was forced to withdraw her nomination due to bipartisan Senate opposition, and now, another high profile appointment might be in trouble.
Katie Pavlich at Townhall.com reports that Biden’s choice for Health and Human Services Secretary, former California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, failed to secure majority support from the Senate Finance Committee, so it will take Democrat Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to advance him to a full vote in the Senate.
Becerra has two issues common to Tanden, and indeed, a number of Biden appointees: he’s a rabid leftwing partisan who’s alienated all the Republicans, and he has zero qualifications for the job. For comparison, the previous three HHS Secretaries were a top pharmaceutical company executive, a doctor and the head of worldwide organizations fighting hunger and poverty. The closest Becerra has come to anything involving health or human services was trying to railroad some undercover reporters into prison for exposing the barbaric abortion practices of Planned Parenthood.
Republican Sen. Ben Sasse summed up the problems with Becerra perfectly:
“This isn’t complicated: In the middle of a deadly global pandemic, Americans want their Department of Health and Human Services to be focused on health and human services — not culture wars. If bullying nuns and trampling First Amendment rights could magically cure COVID, Becerra would be qualified. He’s not right for the job, and the Senate needs to reject this hyper-partisan nomination.”
Amen to that. So far, the Biden Administration is making the same mistake the Democrats did the last time they held total power in 2008-2010: thinking that gave them a mandate to shove a leftwing agenda down America’s throat, whether we wanted it or not. And Biden’s even worse because he campaigned as a moderate, bipartisan unifier and is governing like an arrogant leftist ideologue. People are not only upset at the policies, they’re furious because they’re starting to feel they were bamboozled (news flash: they were, as we tried to warn for months before the election.)
In 2010, after the Dems forced Obamacare on us, Republicans gained 7 Senate seats and took back the House with a net gain of 63 seats, the biggest party shift of power in 60 years. Democrats who understand how narrow their House margin is and how precarious a tied Senate majority is might want to reflect on those numbers before backing any more far-left nominees or unpopular AOC-approved legislation.
Pelosi's House Approves For The People Act
By Mike Huckabee
As expected, last night, the House voted 220-210 to pass HR1, the astoundingly misnamed “For The People Act,” a massive voting “reform” bill that could more accurately be called the “Cementing a Democrat Majority Forever By Legalizing Vote Fraud” Act. Think I’m overstating it? Read what’s in it, then contact your Senators to let them know they had better bury this deeper than nuclear waste.
Incidentally, the bill passed the House with only one Democrat opposing it and all Republicans opposed except for two who didn’t vote.
Meanwhile, as all the attention was on the vote for the bill to prevent ballot suppression of such stalwart Democrat voting blocs as Imaginary-Americans and the Living-Challenged, Pelosi’s House also passed the “George Floyd Justice in Policing Act,” another bill with a name designed to disguise its noxious contents.
Critics say it should more accurately be called the “Federal Defund the Police Act,” since its unfunded mandates would cost police departments nationwide hundreds of millions of dollars, the equivalent of removing over 3,000 cops from the streets. (Only one Republican, Texas Rep. Lance Gooden, voted for it; but he later said it was a mistake and corrected the record.)
Do you know what the House really needs to do if it wants to protect the American people? How about a bill to force Congress to abide by the same truth-in-advertising laws that everyone else has to follow, so they’ll stop trying to sell us poison while calling it candy?
Stimulus Checks
By Mike Huckabee
When voters in Georgia were about to decide in a runoff whether or not to leave the Senate in the hands of the GOP, then President-elect Biden promised that if they elected the two Democrats, “those $2000 (COVID relief) checks will go out the door.” (Sounds like bribery for votes to me, but I assume the authorities will overlook that.)
Well, the voters elected two far-left Democrats, and here’s what they’ve got to show for it.
In the latest version of the bill in the Senate, the $2000 checks have shrunk to $1400 (unless you’re a federal worker, then you get one every week), and income eligibility has shrunk from $100,000 a family to $80,000, which means 8 million fewer Americans will get aid than got it under Trump.
To quote punk rock icon Johnny Rotten, “Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?”

Governor, I send your newsletters to my friends and family. I only wish there was a way to reach all of those who only know what the MSM is reporting.
