DAILY BIBLE VERSE
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 46:10
The Humiliation Is Not Complete
By Mike Huckabee
If you thought the US’s humiliation in Afghanistan under the “leadership” of President Biden was complete, just wait a day. Now, the Taliban is ordering Biden to remove all US troops by September 11th. They magnanimously added that they are “committed not to attack them.”
And as the Taliban tells Biden to jump, his Administration responds with, “How high?” With up to 15,000 Americans still trapped in Afghanistan, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said they’ll evacuate everyone they possibly can “until the clock runs out or we run out of capability.”
“Until the clock runs out?” It’s pretty obvious who’s setting that alarm. When President Trump negotiated the original pullout, he said he warned the Taliban that if they made any aggressive moves, they would be met with awesome force the likes of which they’d never seen. The response to such an outrageous ultimatum should be, “You will stand down and allow all Americans to be evacuated safely for however long that takes, or you will be obliterated.” Unfortunately, that would require America to have a President, and I fear we no longer do.
Biden Goes Lower
By Mike Huckabee
Just when we think President Biden can’t go any lower, he grabs a shovel and says, “Hold muh beer!” First came the deadly and humiliating surrender of Afghanistan. Then came his stunning speech where he blatantly lied, and claimed “the buck stops here” while blaming Trump, the Afghan President, the Afghan Army—everyone but himself. That did even more damage to America’s reputation with our allies.
And now, there’s his horrifying ABC interview. You’d think that if anyone could be counted on to toss softballs underhand, it would be former Democratic Party operative George Stephanopoulos. But even he couldn’t save Biden from himself.

Among the more jaw-dropping Biden quotes:
“The idea that somehow, there’s a way to have gotten out without chaos ensuing…I don’t how that happens.”
He told us there was a way as recently as a month ago, when he was assuring it was highly unlikely that the nation would fall to the Taliban. If he'd wanted to prevent it, he might have followed Trump’s plan, which involved a multi-stage process where the reduction of military support came only after the safe removal of people and equipment, not before. Biden claimed he had to abide by Trump’s timeline, but he hasn’t abided by a single Trump policy thus far. Besides, Trump’s timeline had this all tied up by May, so he was already three months past it.
Maybe one way to prevent chaos from ensuing would have been for his State Department not to have disbanded Trump’s Contingency and Crisis Response Bureau, which was created to ensure this didn’t happen.

I do, however, believe he was being honest when he said, “I don’t know how that happens.” I now believe he doesn’t know how a lot of things happen, from securing a border to fighting crime to not losing a war in humiliating fashion.
But all that was just a warmup to one of the worst things I’ve ever heard come out of the mouth of a President, or anyone, for that matter.
When Stephanopoulos asked him about the nightmarish images of those Afghans falling to their deaths from a plane they had been desperately clinging to, images so horrific they evoked terrible memories of people leaping from the Twin Towers on 9/11, Biden snapped, “That was four days ago, five days ago.”
I’m sorry, I didn’t realize there was a four-day time limit on caring about the needless and horrifying deaths of innocent people. Was Biden actually peeved that the press would dare ask him about this? Is he so accustomed to them covering up his disasters that he thinks it’s their job to paper over one of the most horrifying images of all time in just four days? Did he think Stephanopoulos was under some obligation to his media bias to ignore that and ask him about his favorite ice cream flavors? He’s been eating too much ice cream; it’s turned his blood cold. After this, I never want to hear another word from Democrats about Trump’s “mean tweets” or his lack of compassion.
Of Course He Got Out
By Mike Huckabee
Thank goodness some vital American assets are safely out of Afghanistan. For instance, the general who recommended the fatal blunder of abandoning Bagram air base before the nation was secured and our people evacuated has already left Afghanistan himself. I'll rest easy knowing he's on the job.
A Stern Letter
By Mike Huckabee
There was an old joke about ineffective, effete intellectuals; that when faced with a situation that required standing up and fighting, they’d say, “I will write a stern letter about this to the New York Times!” Well, that now seems to be the official policy of the UN, which wrote a stern letter, urging the Taliban to respect human rights, including the rights of women and girls.
They showed how much they respect that by viciously beating unarmed protesters and by reportedly shooting a woman to death for not wearing a burka. Meanwhile, a Taliban spokesman claimed that women’s rights “will be honored under Islamic law.” That should certainly be reassuring to women, especially since they say there will be Sharia law and no democracy whatsoever.
As for their previous claim that women would be allowed to work and study and maybe even participate in government, that’s already been walked back. They now claim that a council of Islamic scholars will decide what women are allowed to wear and whether they’ll be allowed to go to school.

Do you really have to ask if there will be any women on that council?
I hope that all the foolish people who spent four years comparing Trump to the Taliban and going around in “Handmaid’s Tale” costumes (because they were perfectly free to wear anything they wanted) will look at this and finally get a clue what real oppression looks like.
Claim Destroyed
By Mike Huckabee
Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice destroys Biden’s claim that the Afghan army just didn’t want to defend their nation.
A Booster Shot
By Mike Huckabee
President Biden announced that the CDC will okay a third COVID vaccine booster shot, out of concerns that the effectiveness may start falling after about eight months.
https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/explainer-booster-shots-covid-19-79522365
The news got mixed reactions, with some critics suggesting it was to divert attention from Afghanistan or to give another financial windfall to Big Pharma. Personally, I think it’s probably out of honest concern that the vaccines aren’t proving as effective as initially believed, even though we have seen that when vaccinated people do get infected, they’re much less likely to get seriously ill.
I will note, however, that this does inspire the perfect motto for all of the policies of today’s Democratic Party: “If it isn’t working, try more of it!”
