DAILY BIBLE VERSE
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
Psalm 37:23-24 KJV

Day One
If the sun seems a little brighter and the birds' songs a bit sweeter, that’s because today is the first full day in nearly 50 years that America is officially no longer under the deadly, unconstitutional Roe v. Wade ruling.
The SCOTUS handed down its ruling overturning Roe on June 24th, but it didn’t become official until the Court issued its judgment in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, and that happened on Tuesday, July 26th.
Yes, I’m as surprised as you that a bunch of furious leftists screaming through bullhorns, illegally protesting at the Justices’ homes and threatening their lives and families didn’t convince them to take it all back. I guess the SCOTUS Justices just don’t understand that the Supreme Court is supposed to ignore the Constitution and give the mob whatever it wants. Well, except for Elena Kagan.
Speaking of Justices who think it’s the SCOTUS’ job to figure out what the public wants and give it to them regardless of what the Constitution says, CNN reports that swinging door Chief Justice John Roberts privately lobbied conservatives to switch their votes and save Roe. But the leak foiled any hopes of that because people would then know who switched their vote, which would make it look as if the Court caved to the mob.

Ironically, that means that if a leftist law clerk leaked the draft decision to try to put pressure on the Court to save Roe, it backfired spectacularly. So some are theorizing that it was a conservative law clerk who leaked it. But given the odds between a conservative sparking violent backlash by leaking a decision that already went in their favor vs. a liberal law clerk acting on emotion and doing something stupid and illegal that blew up in his face, I’d say option #2 is the more likely.
By the way, why do we still not know who leaked that decision? Is the Biden DOJ too occupied with trying to jail Trump and all his millions of voters? Some say the fact that there has been no progress on identifying and arresting the leaker is itself convincing circumstantial evidence that the culprit must be a “progressive.”
Consumer confidence slips
Tuesday, the first of four economic reports due this week arrived. The Conference Board reported that consumer confidence fell in July for the third straight month. It slipped from 98.4% last month to 95.7% in July, its lowest level since last year.
Between inflation and rising interest rates, consumer plans for buying cars, houses or major appliances fell. Also, just 17% of consumers thought business conditions were good, down from 19.5% in June.
More worrying news
As bad as all that is, this is even more worrying. A University of Chicago poll found that nearly a third of registered voters think it might be necessary at some point soon for Americans to take up arms against their own government.
I’m sure the Democrats and the media will blame that on Trump fomenting “insurrection,” but in fact, it’s a concern expressed by 28% of all voters, including 33% of Republicans, 35% of Independents and even 20% of Democrats. In addition, 49% agree with the statement that they “more and more feel like a stranger in my own country.” And a majority agree that the US government is “corrupt and rigged against everyday people like me,” which includes 51% of “very liberal” voters.
This is not something that can be blamed on Trump, Putin or the pandemic. It’s the inevitable result of a long-game leftist strategy to divide Americans into warring groups for political advantage, to tear down traditional American values, and to politicize everything. That includes both the cultural institutions that once brought us together (movies, TV, sports) and the government institutions that were supposed to be above politics, like the courts, the DOJ and the FBI.
America is a very diverse nation filled with people of many different backgrounds, races, cultures and beliefs. What brought us together was the shared American culture, including pride in our history and values, and trust in the fairness and impartiality of our institutions. As we’ve watched that trust being trashed over the past few years, particularly with the blatant two-tiered justice system and transparent abuse of power to punish some and let others skate on similar but far worse offenses, it’s no wonder so many Americans feel that the government is no longer an impartial servant of the people.
God willing, the next election will signal a sea change, this destruction of our American ideals such as blind justice and due process rights will be reversed, and those who are behind it will find themselves being investigated, and if the evidence warrants, prosecuted. But let me just say that even if they are leftists I disagree with, if their due process rights are violated, I will defend their right to a fair trial just as loudly as I have the Trump officials who have been targeted for selective prosecution. Because our current politicized "justice" system is not merely an assault on the freedom to hold certain political views, it’s an assault on America and everything it stands for.
Harmful, Not Harmless
Say, you know those puberty-blocking drugs that we were told were harmless and reversible, and if you object to giving them to children, you're a science-denying hater of trans people? Well, the Post Millennial reports that the FDA just quietly added a warning to them of “a serious potential side effect for some that may cause a dangerous surge of spinal fluid pressure in the brain, that can cause headaches, nausea, double vision, and even permanent vision loss.”
I eagerly await the tsunami of lawsuits.
Facebook imposes hiring freeze and budget cuts
The Germans have a handy word, “schadenfreude.” It means getting a feeling of joy or satisfaction from the troubles or frustrations of others. It’s not a very positive attitude, but I think that in this case, it’s understandable, maybe even justifiable.
https://nypost.com/2022/07/26/mark-zuckerberg-visibly-frustrated-over-vacation-question-report/
Video has leaked of a Zoom meeting last month between billionaire Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his employees. He was telling them that the current market plunge, with parent company Meta’s stock down 50% this year, “might be one of the worst downturns that we’ve seen in recent history.” He’s imposed a hiring freeze and budget cuts, and he warned that productivity goals would be raised and underperforming workers would face cuts.
With perfect Laurel and Hardy timing, he went to a pre-recorded employee question, and it was someone asking if the extra vacation days they got during the pandemic would continue in 2023. Looking visibly annoyed, Zuckerberg replied, “Um…all right. Given my tone in the rest of the Q&A, you can probably imagine what my reaction to this is.”
He went on, “Realistically, there are probably a bunch of people at the company who shouldn’t be here. Part of my hope by raising expectations and having more aggressive goals, and just kind of turning up the heat a little bit, is that I think some of you might decide that this place isn’t for you, and that self-selection is OK with me.”
Wow! So first Netflix discovers that the wokeness it embraced and pushed is an untenable business model and invites its whining, censorious employees to hit the bricks, and now Facebook wakes up to reality.
I’m not sure which part of this conservatives will find more enjoyable: that Zuckerberg is forced to deal with the kind of lazy, self-centered, entitled young people that the social media world he invented helped create; or that after spending hundreds of millions of dollars to fund an unethical if not illegal scheme to elect Joe Biden, the Biden economy has wiped out half of his company’s stock value.
Again, it’s not nice to take pleasure in others’ misfortunes, but in this case, I get why some might agree with Oscar Wilde that it would take a heart of stone not to laugh.
You almost have to hand it to leftists:
They never accept defeat. They just skulk away, lay low for a while, then try again, hoping that nobody is looking this time.
Latest example: the government “disinformation police.” When the concept and the strange person the Administration chose to run it drew too much notice and sparked outrage, they claimed to kill the idea…but they just keep trying to quietly bring it back in new guises, with someone who’s less addicted to the spotlight in charge.
Like Camille Stewart Gloster, Biden’s new Deputy Director to the Office of the National Cyber Director. Gloster was formerly a Google executive focused on purging “disinformation” from the Google app store while tweeting “woke” rants on her personal Twitter feed on topics such as “systemic racism.” You might recall how Google defines “disinformation” as anything that questions Democrat narratives, even if it’s arguably or even provably true. This is why so many conservative news sites get buried and hidden in Google search results.
If Biden is going to hire someone from a search engine to oversee cyber security, how about someone from DuckDuckGo, the site that doesn’t track you and that has a door mat on its headquarters that reads, “Come Back With A Warrant”?
I JUST WANTED TO SAY:
