DAILY BIBLE VERSE
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
John 11:25-26

Prayers for Toby Keith
Our prayers today for country superstar Toby Keith, who revealed that he’s been fighting stomach cancer for the past six months. He put out this message on social media:
"Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I've spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax…I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can't wait."
Keith has been performing throughout his treatment, but he’s canceled an upcoming show at the Ohio State Fair. I know we all wish him well and hope he’ll be fully recovered and back performing soon, and I hope he’ll drop by my TBN show. Here’s one of my favorite moments from my former show on Fox News, when I got the chance to talk to Toby and then back him up on bass.
Happy Flag Day
Happy Flag Day, everyone! Today is a holiday created to honor the date in 1777 when the Second Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as America’s official flag. While some ungrateful people think the American flag is something to disrespect or even burn, thankfully, there are many millions who still appreciate what it stands for. Here are some great photos of Flag Day celebrations around America.

Elsewhere in today’s newsletter, staff writer Laura Ainsworth reports on an Elk’s Club Flag Day celebration where she sang the National Anthem. She also has a great suggestion to make sure you don’t miss next year’s Flag Day events, so you can take your kids to learn the history of and respect for America’s flag, something that they sadly may not be learning in schools these days.
Obviously, the mayor of Washington, DC, didn’t learn it.
Primary Election Day
Today is primary election day in Maine, Nevada, North Dakota and South Carolina. Be sure to vote if you haven’t already. We’ll have a round-up of the results tomorrow.
One of the most interesting races is in Nevada, where Trump-backed gubernatorial candidate Joe Lombardo has a big poll lead in the GOP primary. Democrats must be terrified of running against him, judging by the way their PACs were falsely posing as Republicans to run ads against Lombardo in the primary. We’ll see how well that worked, or if they were just throwing away their own money for a change.
Democrat Committee Chair says “no”
After hearing that the point of Nancy Pelosi’s January 6th Kangaroo Kommittee and its low-rated prime time show trial was to make the case that former President Trump should be indicted on various federal charges (I assume including trespassing for living rent-free in Democrats’ heads), Chairman Rep. Ben Thompson said the Committee will not make any criminal referrals of Trump or anyone else to the DOJ.
Thompson said, “No, that’s not our job. Our job is to look at the facts and circumstances around January 6th, what caused it and make recommendations after that.”
If getting Trump isn’t their job, then someone failed to give the message to Liz Cheney, who immediately contradicted Thompson. But in fact, indicting people not only isn’t their job, it’s not within their authority, as Thompson correctly stated. They aren’t a grand jury. They shouldn’t even be able to subpoena people, much less have them arrested for defying their subpoenas, considering that the Committee is illegitimately formed in violation of the resolution creating it.
Of course, this could just be a way of attempting to sound magnanimous and above politics as they back down from their blustering rhetoric, so they don’t have to admit they’ve wasted $8 million and months of our time on a political vendetta that would never stand up in court, or that they have no evidence other than their partisan suppositions of what was going through Trump’s mind and bits and pieces of testimony wrenched out of context or altered.
Or maybe they realized that this dog just wasn’t going to hunt when even MSNBC uber-liberal Rachel Maddow admitted that it was impossible for Trump’s rally speech to have incited the breach of the Capitol that was already happening far away, before he’d finished speaking.
For the record, the Monday session included lots of Trump bashing but still no new actual evidence. But Julie Kelly at American Greatness has an excellent primer to explain the truth of what happened on January 6th, minus the “well-oiled fog machine.” It’s called, “January 6 for Non-Dummies.” Share it with your friends who watch CNN.

Americans are fed up with violent crime waves sparked by “progressive” politicians
Americans are fed up with violent crime waves sparked by Soros-backed “progressive” D.A.’s who think that “progress” means repealing all the laws and letting criminals run wild. First, the most liberal voting population in America overwhelmingly voted to recall San Francisco D.A. Chesa Boudin. Now, Republican state lawmakers in Pennsylvania are moving to impeach Philadelphia’s disastrous D.A. Larry Krasner.

They cite plenty of grounds, from dereliction of duty to allowing chaos to reign in the streets to loss of public confidence to flatly declaring that Krasner has “completely lost his mind.” As if to prove that last charge, Krasner declared that the move to impeach him is “unconstitutional.” Funny how these leftist D.A.’s don’t care about the law when someone is carjacking a citizen or looting a store, but they suddenly become sticklers for following the law when it’s about to be used to kick them out of office.
Biden’s leadership on the economy
President Biden continues to boast about how great the economy is doing under his “leadership,” and that draws applause from Jimmy Kimmel’s easy-to-please studio audience. But it’s getting to be a harder sell with each passing day. Here’s a round-up of just some of the latest economic news:
Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged by another 800 points, erasing all gains made since the first of the year and officially putting us into a bear market. The S&P 500 is now down 20% since January. Before you let any economic ignoramuses gloat that it’s just hurting billionaires, note that millions of Americans have 401K’s invested in the market, and they just saw their retirement funds take a huge nosedive.
The Labor Department reports that the producer price index rose 0.8% in May to 10.8% higher than a year before. That’s close to a 40-year high. Click for more details on what the PPI is and how it affects your wallet.

The National Federation of Independent Business reports that its Small Business Optimism Index dropped in May, as it has every month since January. The percentage of small business owners expecting better conditions over the next six months is now at an all-time low.

Unfortunately, I could go on and on with economic stories like this, but I try to look on the bright side, so here goes…

Sorry, that’s all I’ve got.
Ohio's Governor is taking the lead on school shootings
Hey, look, someone is actually doing something to stop future school shootings: Ohio’s Governor just signed a new law allowing schools to let staffers be armed after undergoing firearms safety training.
Hardening school security is the one measure that’s actually been shown to work, so expect liberals to react with horror.
