Interesting Memoir
Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson has written a memoir that covers his time as White House Doctor to Presidents Bush, Obama and Trump. It reveals that Obama wrote him a scathing note during the 2020 election campaign after he called on Biden to take a cognitive test to prove he was mentally fit to be President.
Jackson said it was the same test Trump took and passed, even while Democrats were claiming he was mentally unfit for office. Yet they were pushing Biden for President when, to Jackson, he was showing clear signs of encroaching mental issues, with Obama calling him “unprofessional” for saying something about it. Considering he was a White House doctor, I’d say that making sure a Presidential candidate was mentally healthy sort of WAS his profession.
Jackson wants it noted that he was the first person to bring up this issue, and said, "It’s awfully ironic now, considering [Biden’s mental fitness] is all anyone, including the liberal media, can talk about." True enough, but back then, they just wanted to get any Democrat elected in 2020. Now, they’re worried about whether any Democrat will ever be elected again after Biden gets through.
Inflation: the highest increase in 40 years!
The Labor Department reported Wednesday that inflation in June hit 9.1% from a year ago, the highest annual increase in the consumer price index in over 40 years. Gas prices were up 11.2% from May to June, and 59.9% from last June.

A lot of people were bracing for a startlingly high inflation report just from the way the White House was trying to get out in front of it by downplaying June inflation numbers as not reflecting some recent price declines, like slightly lower gas prices. But analysts say the numbers suggest that inflation has not yet peaked.
In addition, despite a 0.3% rise in average hourly and weekly wages from May to June, that was wiped out by a 1.3% inflation increase, meaning real earnings actually fell by 1%. Because of inflation, real average hourly wages (what your paycheck can buy) are down 3.6% from a year ago.

There’s more at the links, and be sure to check out the chart from Fox Business News showing inflation since 2010. Note that it mostly hovers between 1 and 3%, then suddenly takes off like a 4th of July rocket early in 2021. Hmm…I wonder what happened early in 2021 that could’ve affected the economy and gas prices? Hint: Putin did not invade Ukraine in 2021.
Uvalde gets worse
Just when you think the story of the police response to the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting couldn’t get any worse, it does. Now, leaked school surveillance video has revealed the entire police response, so viewers can watch all that agonizing time go by while the police do nothing – except at one point, when they run away in terror after the gunman fires some shots inside the classroom. Unconscionable.

"October surprise"
Bonchie at Redstate.com is concerned that the Democrats are planning an “October Surprise” to prevent their looming electoral Armageddon. He’s noticed that we’re suddenly hearing a lot of talk about the return of scary COVID variants, and how we’ll have to bring back mask mandates and other draconian pandemic measures in the fall. He assumes that will mean the same thing it did in the 2020 election: Democrat officials using the threat of COVID to usurp the power of legislatures to change election laws and ensure there are plenty of hard-to-trace mail-in ballots and unmonitored drop boxes.
He cites as examples White House plans to extend the COVID health emergency (funny how they want to end those rules on illegal immigrants at the border, but reimpose them on Americans who are largely vaccinated or have natural immunity at this point.) Also, Dr. Fauci has emerged from his burrow to declare, “We can’t just put this pandemic behind us.”
Well, maybe people who’ve built a lucrative career and a huge media following out of it can’t, but the rest of us can and have put it behind us. I suspect that if the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 had helped to elect Democrats, they’d still be trying to force us to wear masks and lock down from that.
The vast majority of Americans now realize what a wrongheaded disaster the lockdowns and school closures were and have accepted that COVID is now endemic, we’ll just have to learn to live with any new variants, and they appear to be weaker anyway. I think if they try to force everyone back into the same rules they imposed (unconstitutionally) in 2020, there will be widespread fury and refusal to comply. The Democrats may have let most of the criminals out of jail at this point, but the prisons still aren’t empty enough to hold the entire population.
Bad news, good news
The bad news: due to the rising crime and violence sparked by the “progressive” criminal-coddling Los Angeles DA, both 7-11…

…and Starbucks are closing multiple locations in Los Angeles.

The good news: if L.A. residents had gone out to 7-11 or Starbucks for a cup of coffee, they might have been robbed or shot; so they can thank the Democrats they elected for keeping them safe by driving away all the businesses they might have left home to visit.
Quote of the Day!
Some wise words to live by from Vice President Kamala Harris, when asked why the Democrats didn’t codify Roe v. Wade when they were in power at any time over the past five decades:
“I think that, to be very honest with you, I, I do believe that we…should have rightly believed but we certainly believe that certain issues are just settled. Certain issues are just settled.”
The reporter replied, “Clearly we’re not.” Harris continued:
“No that’s right, and that’s why I do believe that we are living, sadly, in real unsettled…times.”
She’s a heartbeat away from the Presidency, and the President is a heartbeat away from having a heartbeat. I don’t know about you, but I find that…unsettling.
