1. Adam Schiff’s “slippery slope”

I already told you about the Twitter revelations that the Democrats' claims that social media had to be monitored and censored because of all the “Russian bots” interfering in our elections were based on no evidence. This story has more on that groundless attempt to throttle freedom of speech, but also an interesting sidelight:

One of the things that Adam Schiff tried to censor was an obviously humorous, admittedly fake video making fun of Joe Biden. Twitter knew that Schiff’s people often made censorship requests based on nothing but political concerns, and they refused to remove this one because any reasonable person would recognize that it was clearly a joke. But Schiff’s minions argued that there was a “slippery slope” argument to be made.

That’s one thing they’re right about. The reason all tyrants hate humor is that it deflates pomposity, reduces fear and tells the truth, all things that are like Kryptonite to Adam Schiff. If you let Americans make fun of politicians who deserve it, who knows where it could lead? That's the slippery slope they're really afraid of. I hope it will lead to Adam Schiff becoming such a laughingstock that it drives him out of office.

2. Memo to New York and California shop owners (and prosecutors)

These workers at a Guitar Center in Albuquerque demonstrate how to deal with someone who tries to grab the merchandise and run out with it. Except I really hope that guitar wasn’t damaged.

3. RIP Gina Lollobrigida

I’m sad to have to report that we’ve lost another icon of old Hollywood glamor. Gina Lollobrigida, the Italian movie actress once dubbed “the most beautiful woman in the world,” has died in Rome at 95.

She starred in more than 60 films, both American and European, including “Come September,” “Trapeze” and “Beat the Devil,” alongside such leading men as Humphrey Bogart, Rock Hudson, Frank Sinatra, Tony Curtis and Sean Connery. Her hairstyle sparked the “poodle cut” trend in the 1950s. She was known for being strong and independent, and was so popular that she told Vanity Fair, “At one point, I had in my contract, in addition to 10 percent of the gross, approval of my co-star, the director and the script.” She initially studied fine arts and went into acting reluctantly. By the time she retired from the screen, she had built separate careers as a sculptor, painter and renowned photojournalist.

Rest in peace to a truly remarkable woman.

4. Latest Biden Administration brainstorm

Here’s the latest Biden Administration brainstorm for dealing with the flood of illegal immigration they’ve caused: Reward illegal aliens for squealing on Americans who hire them.

Biden's DHS put out a memo announcing an expedited deportation “relief” process for illegal immigrants who report their American employers to the government. The employers will face "severe consequences" as "predatory actors," while the workers can earn deferred deportation and work authorization for turning them in. 

Biden’s people claim they’re trying to disincentivize the hiring of illegal immigrants, but they’re doing it by letting the illegal immigrants stay here and work. It’s the same way that Democrats have “reduced” crime statistics by making crime legal. I’m all for holding employers of illegal immigrants accountable, but here’s a crazy thought: how about holding the illegal border crossers accountable, too, and deporting them instead of incentivizing them?
