Man Arrested Outside VP Residence

By Mike Huckabee

A Texas man named Paul Murray was arrested Friday outside Vice President Kamala Harris’ home while carrying an AR-15 rifle and a large amount of ammunition. Nobody was hurt in the arrest. He is a US Army veteran and after a wellness check, Brazos County Sheriff’s Department feared he might be a possible threat to himself or others. They’d already put out an intelligence bulletin on him, and authorities were looking for him. This article from a San Antonio media outlet actually has more info about him than most of the major media stories I’ve seen.

This is a developing story, so look for more info as it becomes available.

Effort To Replace The News With The Narrative, Is Well Underway

By Mike Huckabee

President Biden and Vice President Harris were at Emory University in Atlanta Friday to tout the “COVID-19 relief” bill, denounce anti-Asian violence, and generally talk about unity and bipartisanship while implicitly blaming everything that’s wrong on Trump and Republican straw men. I’m not going to bother with the details, since it’s what they always do. But I would like to focus on the effort to make the tragic shooting rampage at three massage parlors into an example of anti-Asian bigotry and (the latest big stretch) to try to place blame on Trump because he called COVID-19 the “Chinese virus.”

One of the hallmarks of a mature adult mind is the ability to understand nuances and grasp that multiple, sometimes contradictory concepts can exist simultaneously. Not everything is simple either/or, black and white; and correlation is not causation. Thinking too deeply shatters simplistic narratives, so the media and the Democrats (but I repeat myself) discourage it. But here are a few more nuanced truths to consider if you don’t buy the current drumbeat that everything is about race.

1. The coronavirus did come from China so the term “Chinese virus” is no more racist than “Rocky Mountain spotted fever.” When Trump blamed China, anyone with more than two functioning brain cells understood that he was talking about the communist Chinese government that covered up and blocked investigators, preventing early measures to stem the spread of the virus. He wasn’t blaming the disease on the Chinese people. Conservatives have nothing but sympathy for the suffering of the Chinese people, and that covers far more than their virus infection rate. In fact, we wish today’s liberals would show more concern about the treatment of the Chinese people by their government.

2. There is no intellectual conflict between blaming China’s government for the spread of the virus and strongly condemning racist attacks on Asian-Americans who are totally blameless.

3. The fact that the majority of the victims of the massage parlor shooter were Asian women is not irrefutable proof that it was a racially-motivated attack by a white supremacist. As Andrew Sullivan writes in this must-read analysis

…the shooter has denied he was targeting Asians, authorities have so far found no evidence that he was bigoted against Asians (he claims he was a sex addict and blamed the massage parlors, where Asian women just happened to work), and two of his victims, who are seldom mentioned, were white, while another is Latino. Sullivan points out that in cases of real racially-motivated shootings, the killers make it very clear whom they’re targeting and don’t deny it.

4. For a completely different point of view, there’s anger that the kneejerk racism charge is obscuring the real motive, which was that it was a hate crime against sex workers.

5. The Democrats’ sudden concern about anti-Asian bigotry and people being afraid to leave their homes would be more believable if they hadn’t spent the past year defending college and public school policies that discriminate against Asian-Americans and dismissing the fears of people in minority neighborhoods of riot-plagued blue cities.

In short, there are a number of serious, complicated issues at play in today’s world. Lumping all of them into a tunnel-vision view of “Everything’s motivated by racism” may help boost Democrats’ political fortunes by discouraging minorities from supporting better alternatives at the ballot box, but it will ultimately prove as ineffective for solving complicated problems as a mechanic who thinks the way to fix everything is to pound it with a hammer.

Diplomatic Disaster

By Mike Huckabee

There’s been so much talk this week about President Biden’s security and humanitarian disaster on the Southern border and his diplomatic disaster with Russia that I haven’t had time to address his diplomatic disaster with China. This story will bring you up to date.

While I couldn’t agree more with the criticism of China voiced by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and national security adviser Jake Sullivan, doing it at a press conference in a way that insults the people you’re there to negotiate with is the type of thing that the media would’ve called “dangerous, amateurish bungling” if it had happened under Trump. And Kamala Harris would be citing it as anti-Asian rhetoric that contributes to violence against Asian-Americans.

Teachers' Unions Engage In "Neanderthal Thinking"

By Mike Huckabee

In his speech Friday in Atlanta, President Biden praised the CDC as wise, nonpartisan health experts who only follow the science and whom we should all heed in dealing with COVID-19. Considering their track record, you might find that debatable, but put that aside for a moment. Let’s say we grant Biden’s argument about listening to the CDC. Here’s what the CDC has had to say recently about schools reopening:

The CDC has said that schools don’t necessarily pose a greater risk of virus transmission than any other facility. They’ve said that teachers, school staff and caregivers are eligible to receive vaccines. They’re recommended that it’s safe to remove barriers, like plexiglass, and to distance only three feet from each other instead of six feet. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said, “CDC is committed to leading with science and updating our guidance as new evidence emerges. These updated recommendations provide the evidence-based roadmap to help schools reopen safely, and remain open, for in-person instruction.”

And how did some teachers’ unions, who are resisting going back to work, respond? They called the CDC’s three-foot distancing change “rash” and “based on a flawed report,” and are pushing to keep schools closed until May, when the school year would be over anyway.

So if the CDC is truly the source we should rely upon for sound, non-partisan, science-based guidance, why doesn’t Biden tell the teachers’ unions to listen to them and get back to work? Shouldn’t he tell them that questioning the CDC is “Neanderthal thinking”?

I really enjoy your narratives Gov. Huckabee. I have read Sarah's Book and wrote to her...I hope she got the letter. I hope she wins the Governor's race.
Thank you for all your wisdom. God Bless you all

    Governor
Isn’t the forgiveness of agriculture debt (up to 120 percent) available only to minority farmers racist because it excludes non minority (white) farmers? And up to 120 percent - sounds like they are giving them more money than they owe.

This is the worst administration in the history of our government. There is nothing transparent in the decision making, nor is there any attempt to unite this country, instead this country is being destroyed!! Something has to be done before it’s too late!!!
Stop this cra*. Time to stand up against all of the irrational stuff put forth by this president, who is sworn to uphold the Constitution and protect us from enemies, foreign and domestic. Why wouldn’t he send these illegals with b t-shirts to our northern, RED, states?
Come on, guys — protect the country. I can’t do too much as a "senior" lady but I’ll do what I can. Biden is a few months older than me, & I can bet I can run circles around him. Oh, I have my senior moments , short-lived!!
WAKE UP AND WAKE UP YOUR NEIGHBORS.
I don’t think that the presidential motor is running on all cylinders. He seems to have forgotten the phrase “no one is above the law”. He is allowing the illegals to pour into this country in a quest for power that it is already damaging this country. Are there not any Americans in congress or the senate??
This is what you want for your children??
I don't trust the CDC or Dr. Fauci. Wow, what a disgrace with the China meeting, apologizing again??? And then, there's Putin, waiting for all our other "enemies." Biden or his administration doesn't have the class or the guts to deal with foreign governments. They know, they see!!

I find the following two quotes from two different people - a Conservative and a Liberal interesting because both are inspiring. When you understand the writers...we must have tolerance to all and malice toward none.

"Some People's idea of free speech is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back that is outrage."
    Sir Winston Churchill

"Freedom of speech doesn't protect speech you like; it protects speech you don't like."
    Larry Flynt

    Two completely opposite men...

If Biden were anything like President Reagan (which, unfortunately, he is not), he would dismiss the teachers' union and send all non-union teachers back to work; like Reagan handled the air traffic controllers' strike.

It won't work to discourage minorities from supporting the GOP nor will it boost the Blue Reich - people aren't stupid.

Dershiwitz analyzed all the error that are being made in the Minnesota trial. First the payoff and location. There is plenty of crap going on, but one week just conservitive legal anylists should be called on to analyze how quickly mobs are formed, how the liberal media spread lies to give momentum to the mobs and looting thereby bypassing the legal system. Do sports coachs and owners do not know Marxism and LIBERTY do not coexsist or are they STUPID
