Maybe things will change
Elon Musk might be serious about changing the culture at Twitter, and it’s no wonder Democrats are in a lather over it. The Biden White House sent out a tweet with a misleading claim in it (boasting that seniors will get a big raise in Social Security when it's just an automatic cost-of-living adjustment due to high inflation). But Twitter users who now have free speech "added context" to correct it, and the White House deleted it.
“Wait a minute,” I hear them crying. “Our misinformation got corrected? That’s not how Twitter is supposed to work!!”
“Right-wing violence?”
Thanks to Mark Tapscott at Instapundit for digging into the stats and reporting that since the SCOTUS overturned Roe v. Wade, there have been 135 attacks on pro-life churches and pregnancy centers. Pro-life pregnancy counseling centers are 22 times more likely to be the targets of attacks than Planned Parenthood abortion clinics.

Yet who is the FBI arresting? An octogenarian concentration camp survivor for praying outside an abortion clinic.
So glad...
So glad we have Democrats like this defending the Constitution…

A "Pandemic Amnesty"
The Atlantic magazine article calling for a “pandemic amnesty” to forgive and forget the tyrannical, deadly and ruinous actions of our government elite in the name of fighting COVID is going over like a sushi platter at a Southern Baptist pot luck dinner.
https://thefederalist.com/
And here’s just one of many, many reasons why Americans are still rightfully furious: in states that kept schools shut down for a long time, math scores dropped and reading proficiency plunged. Students who lost out on so much high school instruction are now struggling in college, and college enrollment is down by 9.7% from before the pandemic. It’s estimated that this may cost students $1 trillion in lost income over their lifetimes.
What a surprise that one of the big proponents of the “don’t blame us” pandemic amnesty idea is the head of the biggest teachers’ union who kept pushing to keep schools closed despite the extremely low risk of COVID to students.

Breaking news: John Kerry flies commercial
In what might count as a modern day miracle, relentless pressure and mockery of “climate czar” John Kerry has finally forced him to fly commercial to one of his UN climate summits!
I’ll let you know if he ever manages to reel in his hypocrisy enough to attend via Zoom.
“The Procedure”
Warning: I have to report this story, but I must caution you that the video it refers to is extremely graphic. If you watch it, it could give you nightmares. I’m very serious about that.
The video is the creation of the pro-life group Choice42. It’s called “The Procedure,” and it’s narrated by our friend Kevin Sorbo. It’s based on the real-life testimony of a medical professional who quit his job after he had to assist in an abortion and was traumatized by what he witnessed. The short film features realistic animation that the producers say was created “in secret by top-level Hollywood animators,” who no doubt fear they’ll never work again if it’s discovered that they did anything pro-life.
The video recreates what the narrator saw on the ultrasound: a second trimester baby girl in the womb recoiling in fear and writhing in pain as the abortionist rips her apart limb-by-limb. The animation is meant to humanize the baby in the womb, and it does. Not in a misleading way, but in an accurate way that shows viewers this is not a “clump of cells,” it’s the ritual dismemberment of a live human being. As I said, it’s extremely graphic and disturbing. You have to have a very strong stomach to watch it, and even then, it will break your heart.
But in an era when so many people use fuzzy euphemisms like “choice” and “women’s health” to obscure what they're defending, or try to shout down anyone who speaks the truth, this is a powerful gut-punch of reality about what abortion really is.
Bill Clinton speaks
If President Biden didn’t scare you into voting for Democrats, maybe former President Clinton can. He told a crowd that Republicans “want you to be very miserable,” and then they make things worse and blame Democrats.
Interesting take, considering Democrats have been completely in charge for nearly two years and everything they touch has turned to horse manure. They got most of their policies passed, and the misery index has skyrocketed like the inflation rate. Ironically, Clinton is largely remembered for his good economy because the Republicans took Congress, and Newt Gingrich forced him to cut deficit spending, which resulted in a boom after Clinton predicted it would spark disaster.
And now, I’m turning this story over to my writer, Pat, who suggested a line I wouldn’t touch with a 10-foot pole, but he’s happy to take credit for it:
“Bill Clinton said, ‘Republicans want you to be miserable. But I can make you feel goooood, baby…'”
Elon Musk/Twitter updates
As interesting as Elon Musk’s buyout of Twitter is, I don’t want to spend too much time writing about it because I can’t help feeling that most people just don’t care that much. This is the kind of story that’s vitally important to people who live in insulated, liberal media bubbles; but the vast majority of Americans have actual lives and never even glance at Twitter. Same reason I don’t write much about MSNBC.
Still, since it is getting a lot of media attention, I figured I’d do a very quick recap of a few of the more interesting stories:
1. Musk announced that he plans to cut 3,700 jobs at Twitter, which is about half the staff. Ed Driscoll at Instapundit reasonably asks why Twitter would need to employ 2,400 more staffers than the New York Times? I assume because there is nobody at the Times trying to express a conservative viewpoint that needs to be censored.
https://instapundit.com/
2. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lashed out at Musk for offering users blue-check certification like celebrities get for $8 a month. You’d think she’d like that, being a big egalitarian, but no. She thinks that a social media business owned by a billionaire should give away its services for free (outrage at the idea of having to pay for anything yourself is common among college-bred, over-privileged socialists.) Musk’s response to her was worth eight bucks in itself. He tweeted back a screenshot of an overpriced $58 AOC hoodie sold on her website with the message, “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8.”
3. “Will & Grace” star Debra Messing is the latest Hollywood celeb to leave Twitter in a huff because somehow, letting anyone who disagrees with her have free speech means hate, misinformation and the end of civilization. That’s rich, considering she’s famous for hysterical and inaccurate attacks on Republicans, with the attitude that anyone to the right of Karl Marx is Hitler. Warning, she says she’s moving to Instagram, so monitor your kids’ IG surfing even more closely.
4. Finally, here’s a list of major moves Musk has taken since assuming control of Twitter.

There, that’s all the Twitter news in a series of short bursts. So, who needs Twitter?
