BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
Inside a Migrant Facility
By Mike Huckabee
Tuesday, reporters were finally allowed inside a migrant facility in Donna, Texas, and now we know why the Biden White House tried to block them from getting inside for so long. Both the images and the numbers they came out with are shocking.
The facility has a capacity of 1,000 before the pandemic and 250 during the pandemic, which Biden adamantly insists is still going on. Yet that facility now houses 4,100 migrants, 3,400 of whom are unaccompanied minors. There are eight “pods” (when Trump was in office, liberals called them “cages”) that are supposed to hold 32 migrants each. They currently hold between 500 and 600 each. Children are sleeping on three-inch gym mats on the floor, under foil blankets. They’re given masks, but many don’t wear them, even though Sen. Ted Cruz says he was told about 10 percent have tested positive for COVID-19. Border officials expect it to only get worse and are bracing for over a million migrants this year.
One border patrol official warned that if Trump’s Title 42 health protections that allow for migrants to be expelled aren’t renewed on April 21st, “you can expect every single facility on the southwest border will be just like this.” Considering this one is like this because Biden mindlessly reversed every Trump border security policy upon taking office, what are the odds that he’ll belatedly come to his senses?
The White House is still trying to blame Trump, claiming he dismantled facilities so there aren’t enough beds available. Of course, under Trump, we didn’t need thousands of beds for illegal immigrants because we didn’t have thousands of illegal immigrants. As Sen. Cruz said after touring the nightmarish facility, "This is inhumane, it is wrong and it is the direct consequence of policy decisions by the Biden administration to stop building the wall, to return to catch-and-release, and to end the stay-in-Mexico policy."
A new NPR/Marist poll showed that most Americans are waking up to the disaster Biden has wrought on the border, despite the media’s best efforts to paper over reality.
Fifty-three percent say they disapprove of his handling of the border. Since his approval rating on the border is only 27% among independents and 5% among Republicans, that disapproval rating would be even higher if it weren’t for two-thirds of Democrats saying they approve. Are they borderline crazy? Either they’ve been drinking the media Kool-Aid by the gallon or they are the biggest hypocrites on Earth. I never want to hear another word from them about Trump “putting kids in cages” when Biden is putting kids in sardine cans (they're even wrapped in foil), and two-thirds of Democrats approve.
Interview with a Coyote
By Mike Huckabee
The Spanish language channel Univision interviewed a coyote (human smuggler) at the Southern border, and what he had to say was hardly surprising for most of us, but it did destroy the ludicrous claim that President Biden inherited this crisis from Trump. Straight from the coyote’s mouth: he said the big surge in illegal border crossings was due to “the new benefits your new President is now granting,”
The coyote even implied that the surge is so big, he’s feeling overworked, saying, “We just come here to earn our daily bread like everyone else. In all honesty, there are way too many people. Believe me.”
Well, it’s nice to know there’s at least one industry where Biden is creating jobs instead of destroying them.
Monthly record is smashed
By Mike Huckabee
Incidentally, if you wonder just how overworked the poor coyotes are, it’s predicted that this month, over 16,000 unaccompanied children will be apprehended at the border, shattering the previous monthly record of 11,475 in May, 2019. At this rate, it’s projected that there will be as many as 25,000 in May.
Or maybe it will be 75,000, if you go by an Arizona sheriff, who, unlike Joe Biden, is actually on the border dealing with the crisis, and who says the numbers are being underreported by close to 300%.
Nine women accuse Cuomo
By Mike Huckabee
President Biden is once again reversing a previous position and is now pushing for the creation of “vaccine passports,” a document verifying that you have been vaccinated for COVID-19. Without it, you would be barred from many activities, such as traveling, taking a cruise or going to a pro sports event.
As Darlene Click at the Victory Girls blog entertainingly explains, this is not going over well at all with Republicans, who vowed to fight it in the Senate and block it at the state level. They say it’s a violation of Constitutional rights and smacks of the “Show us your papers!” Nazi era.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has already declared that “vaccine passports” are “completely unacceptable” and Florida will not require citizens to get a permission slip from the government to exercise their basic rights and freedoms.
Ms. Click also makes some excellent points about the blatant double standards of today’s so-called “progressives” whose “principles” flip 180 degrees depending on whatever policy they’re pushing at the moment. For instance:
It’s perfectly okay to demand that people be forced to get an ID proving they’ve been vaccinated and show it before exercising their rights to assemble or to worship. But (FLIP!)…
It’s sick, racist and a relic of Jim Crow to demand that people show an ID before exercising their right to vote. But (FLIP!)…
It’s only reasonable to demand that people fill out all sorts of ID forms and undergo weeks of background checks before exercising their Second Amendment right to buy a gun.
It’s this kind of head-popping inconsistency that’s caused commentators to start comparing today’s neo-Marxists to the only Marx worth listening to, Groucho Marx, who once declared, “These are my principles! If you don’t like them, I have others.”
The Matt Gaetz story
By Mike Huckabee
Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida is at the center of one of the strangest stories of the day. Full disclosure: Gaetz is my former Representative, he’s been a guest on my show, and I like him personally and agree with many of his political views. But yesterday, the New York Times ran a story claiming that he’s under investigation by the Department of Justice on a sex trafficking charge, for allegedly traveling and having a sexual relationship with an unnamed 17-year-old girl.
But Gaetz immediately took to social media and the Tucker Carlson show on Fox News, where he blasted the allegation as a horrible and “verifiably false” lie intended to remove him from power. He says his travel records prove no such trips took place, and that a former Justice Department official whom he identified as David McGee was attempting to extort $25 million from him with this false allegation. He said his family went to the local FBI, who had his father wear a wire in a meeting with the alleged blackmailer. He’s demanded the release of all tapes made of those conversations.
Naturally, liberal Rep. Ted Lieu immediately called for Gaetz to be removed from the House Judiciary Committee. I’ll have to do some research to see if he’s ever called for Rep. Eric Swalwell to be removed from the Intelligence Committee over his alleged relationship with a Chinese spy.
Frankly, considering the track record of both the feds and the New York Times when it comes to making wild accusations against Republicans, if I’m giving anyone the benefit of the doubt, it’s not them. Particularly since Redstate.com reports that “a USDOJ source in Florida with knowledge of the investigation confirmed to RedState that Gaetz’s father wore a wire and that the FBI is investigating the blackmail/extortion scheme,” while the New York Times says its story was confirmed by “three unnamed sources.” Where have I heard that before? Oh, right: Trump’s phone call to Georgia.
However, I will do what I always do when some allegation like this comes out of left field, whether it’s against a Republican or a Democrat: I’ll give the accused the presumption of innocence and wait to see the evidence. I know, I’m hopelessly old fashioned that way.
