A Way To Talk You Off The Ledge About CRT

Warning to parents opposing Critical Race Theory and other leftist propaganda in schools: Teachers unions and school officials are waking to the threat to their power over your kids’ minds, so they’re formulating responses to your opposition. Read this link to seek how they plan to bamboozle you into backing off. I think this tactic was once summarized as, “If you can’t win them over with facts, baffle them with bull-BLEEP.”
If Donald Trump Did This, The Media Would...

Remember when Trump was in the White House, and every day, the media ranted that he was destroying norms and shredding the Constitution and the rule of law? They never seemed to give any concrete examples of that. He would issue an executive order that was perfectly within the powers of a President, liberals would rush to a friendly activist judge who would put a stay on it, and Trump would abide by that until it could be appealed to a higher court. His agenda was stalled for years simply because he played by the rules.
Now, if he’d blatantly overstepped his Constitutional powers and continued imposing his orders even after the Supreme Court slapped him down, then THAT would have been destroying norms and shredding the Constitution and the rule of law.
Which brings us to Joe Biden, the “return to normalcy and the rule of law” President. The man who’s blatantly rewriting immigration laws, politicizing the Justice Department, and this week, openly defying the courts in two ways, by continuing to take applications for the DACA program in defiance of a court order and by extending an unconstitutional rent moratorium even after (A.) the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the CDC has no power to order landlords to stop collecting rent on their private property, (B.) SCOTUS Justice Kavanaugh said that only Congress can authorize a rent moratorium, and (C.) Biden admitted he has no power to do so.
And where is the outraged media? They can barely rouse themselves from the catnap they’re taking on Biden’s lap. But while they fail to do their jobs, not everyone is taking this assault on the Constitution so lightly.
The Municipal Court of Franklin County, Ohio, announced that it will ignore Biden’s rent moratorium order and follow the ruling of the federal court. So the process of evicting non-payers of rent will begin.
And the Alabama Association of Realtors and other groups representing landlords and property owners is pleading with a federal judge to overturn Biden’s unlawful order.
PS: Nobody has sympathy for landlords, but the fact is that over 30% are in the poor to middle class income category. Some are retirees who depend on rent payments to supplement their Social Security. Others are taking out loans and working odd jobs to survive. Some complain that their renters are taking advantage of the moratorium, and using money they could pay in rent to buy luxuries like a boat. They’re facing financial ruin because the federal money allocated to subsidize rent is still mostly undistributed, and they don’t get a moratorium from having to pay the mortgages on their rental properties.
Funny how politicians can show their “compassion” by stiffing small time landlords for rent, but don't order big banks – i.e., “political donors” - to impose a moratorium on collecting mortgage payments.
New Job Numbers

The Labor Department reported Friday that the US economy added 943,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in July, far more than the 870,000 economists predicted.

To be precise, I wouldn’t call this “adding jobs,” although I’m sure President Biden will claim that and try to take credit for it. It’s mostly people coming back to work after state and city governments finally starting lifting their months’-long “two-week” lockdowns. The big employment numbers also have a lot to do with a number of states cutting off the federal government’s extended unemployment benefits that made it more lucrative to stay on the dole than to take a job.
It does show you, though, how much can be accomplished if you just stop doing things that are actively harmful. That would be a good lesson for this Administration to learn on multiple levels.
Medals For Police Officers

President Biden awarded Congressional Gold Medals to the Capitol Police who were on duty on January 6th, praising them for their heroism in defending democracy.
All the cops who endured months of assaults during the 2020 Democrat-approved violent rioting, including attempts to burn down a federal courthouse and police buildings with people inside, are still waiting for their medals.

Disclaimer: I have been vaccinated, and I’m not telling anyone not to get vaccinated – although I do oppose mandates forcing people to get vaccinated. I think everyone should take the question and the risks very seriously, do some research, and make the decision they think is right for them.
That being said, people who try to smear the unvaccinated as dumb believers in conspiracy theories should read this article (originally, a loooong Twitter thread) by Russian-British commentator and comedian Konstantin Kisin, who looks back over the past five years to try to explain to our media and political elites why everyday Americans might find it hard to trust them anymore and are hesitant to get vaccinated. It’s funny because it’s true. It’s also sad and infuriating because it’s true.

When will minorities learn that it’s the duty of white liberals to decide what culturally-sensitive terms to use to describe their ethnic groups, whether they like it or not? For instance, Hispanics and Latinos will be called “Latinx” even if the vast majority of them hate that term. And according to the latest Gallup survey, the vast majority of them really hate that term. Like, 95 percent.
