Here We Go Again: President Trump says he received a letter from special counsel Jack Smith telling him he’s a target of the January 6th grand jury investigation and that he expects to be indicted and arrested. Apparently for “inciting an insurrection” by urging his supporters to protest “peacefully and patriotically.” So just as no laws at all apply to anyone in the Biden family, apparently, Trump no longer even has First Amendment protections.

Here are some reactions to the news, including Trump’s statement.

So far, all we know about this is that Trump confirmed he got the letter. I’m sure there will be much more to follow as the Biden DOJ continues loading bananas onto the banana republic express.

More bad legal news for Trump: The Georgia Supreme Court unanimously turned down a petition by his attorneys to block Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ investigation of allegations that he interfered with the 2020 election. It wasn’t a ruling on the merits, just that Trump has to take it to a lower court first. So this will drag out even longer, like well into the 2024 election season.

Related: I’ve already stated that I support Trump as the person best positioned to go after the politicized and corrupted federal agencies. That said, if he doesn’t win the GOP nomination, I will fully support whoever does. This election is far too important to the continued existence of America to “take my ball and go home” if I don’t get the candidate that I personally want.

But just to allow open debate, here’s a devil’s advocate column by Scott Morefield at Townhall.com, arguing that Trump’s nomination would be a historic disaster for Republicans and result in a Democrat victory that would end America as we’ve known and loved it.

Read it and leave your (thoughtful) comments on whether he's right or wrong and why. I’d really like to hear them.

    Mike:
While I understand what the townhall guy is saying, what worries me most, is the possibility that Donald Trump will split the vote and another democrat will sneak in. YIKES! That being said, I also worry that people are putting their whole hope of saving our great nation in yet another HUMAN BEING. They are missing the fact that it is GOD who has graciously allowed the U.S. to become the wonderful nation it is, all the while keep pushing Him out of 'office' so to speak. We truly are living in the 'days of Noah'. I really appreciate your presence Mike, and while I'll most likely never get to meet you in person, I'll check in with you in heaven someday! ? Nancy

I truly want to disagree with Scott Morefield's column about Trump, but I'm not sure that I can. If the demon-crats can maintain the charade of freedom in this country until the "24 elections, I tremble for our country. If the House does not manage to rein in the executive usurpation of legislative powers, I suspect we will be going the way of the Roman empire. I am praying for an awakening (spiritual followed by political) and for the constraints believers have placed upon themselves be broken and the electorate be set free to truly express themselves in elections as the framers intended. We are in desperate need of God delivering a victory as He did for Hezekiah in the Bible. We need Him to bring confusion to His enemies and allow us to watch from a hill and then go reap the spoils of victory. May God grant His will be done.
