2. Tulsa shooting update
We’ve learned more about the shooting Wednesday at a Tulsa hospital that left five people dead including the shooter. The man was a former patient of one of his victims, and he complained of having back pain after undergoing surgery. He appears to have targeted the surgeon, but also killed another doctor, a receptionist and a former soldier who was accompanying his wife during a checkup. There are still a lot of questions, as the New Neo blog points out.
https://www.thenewneo.com/2022/06/02/the-tulsa-hospital-shooting/
But one thing we can say for certain is that the claim by a New York State Assembly member that the shooting was motivated by white supremacy is highly suspect, considering that both the shooter and the surgeon he allegedly targeted were black.
Thursday, President Biden made a nationally televised speech on the recent mass shootings. Unfortunately, as has become his habit, instead of attempting to bring Americans together, promote healing and seek common ground, he used the tragedies to cynically promote an aggressive gun control agenda, to blame Republicans for the deaths of children because they won’t pass Democrat gun control laws, and to urge Americans to vote Republicans out of office in November.
Well, at least the Democrats now have two clear issues to fire up their base in November: abortion and gun control. I question whether that’s a winning message for the majority of Americans. I don’t think that will even help much in blue cities, where liberals are buying guns for the first time to protect themselves, thanks to leftist leaders defunding police and releasing criminals into the streets over and over.
It’s also rather baffling that they plan to run on two issues that are so contradictory: “We’re the only ones who care about children’s lives” and “Elect us and we’ll let babies be aborted right up to the moment of birth.” But let’s face it: what else have they got to run on?
3. Nadler sideshow
Great sideshow to yesterday’s House Democrat anti-gun hearing: New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, who is protected by armed guards, mansplained about why women don’t need guns for protection and there’s no evidence that being armed increases their safety. Message: “We Democrats care so much about your safety that we’re going to take away your guns and let you deal with threats by calling the police, whom we have defunded.”
Talk show host and former NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch fired back with a series of tweets listing a number of cases of women using guns to stop carjackers, violent ex’s and other dangerous men.
But such evidence is apparently lost on some people. Like New York Rep. Mondaire Jones, who went on a tirade during the hearing. He said Democrats will not rest until they confiscate everyone’s AR-15s, “and you will not stop us. If the filibuster obstructs us, we will abolish it. If the Supreme Court objects, we will expand it.”
In short, he gave a perfect illustration of the kind of out-of-control, power mad dictatorship that the Founders feared when they wrote the Second Amendment. But at least their true intentions are finally out in the open. No more mixed messages, like President Biden saying that nobody wants to confiscate your guns, then promising to ban assault weapons; or “Beto” O’Rourke saying, “Hell, yes, we’ll take your AR-15s,” then saying he wouldn’t do that, then saying yes, he would again.
Hats off to Rep. Jones for finally stating the Party’s intentions clearly.
4. UPDATE: FBI "secure work environment" at Perkins Coie
A couple of days ago –- the day after Michael Sussmann walked out of the courtroom a free man –- we brought you a story that at first had sounded so crazy, we thought it might have originated with the BABYLON BEE. It was about the Democrat law firm Perkins Coie setting up a “secure work environment” for the FBI right in their own building back in 2012, complete with a portal into the FBI database, and operating it there ever since. One Perkins Coie attorney who was said to have been working out of that workspace was...Michael Sussmann.
Perkins Coie had reportedly admitted this in a letter to Reps. Matt Gaetz of Florida and Jim Jordan of Ohio. “Perkins Coie is responsible to the FBI for maintaining a secure environment,” the letter says.
Since the initial report by Gaetz on Tuesday’s Tucker Carlson’s show, FOX News has had no further on-air reports that we have found on this amazing story. It seemed as if the story had been “disappeared,” and if that had happened, it wouldn’t be the first time. But on Wednesday evening, FOX News Digital did provide a written update, saying that Gaetz and Jordan have written a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding answers.
It advises Wray, “We have learned that since March 2012, the FBI approved and facilitated a Secure Work Environment at Perkins Coie’s Washington DC office, which continues to be operational. In a letter dated May 25, 2022, the law firm confirmed and acknowledged the arrangement.” It also says that Clinton campaign attorney Sussmann had access to this portal until some point in 2021 and had “limited supervised access thereafter.”
The two congressmen tell Wray that this arrangement raises “serious questions” about the FBI’s relationship with Perkins Coie. They’re giving him till June 15 to provide an explanation for why the FBI would have approved this in the first place, as well as “all documents and communications referring or relating to the establishment, maintenance and accreditation of the workspace.” It’s unclear what will happen if they don't respond by June 15, since the Republicans are in the minority on the House Judiciary Committee and do not have subpoena power. If we non-lawyers know this, the director of the FBI certainly does, and will likely respond like the French soldier in MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL: “I unclog my nose in in your direction, sons of a window dresser!”
Similarly, Perkins Coie did not respond to FOX News Digital’s request for comment. The FBI also did not talk to them, but issued a statement: “The FBI complies with the law and security policies and works with the Department of Justice to serve classified, Court-authorized legal process necessary to support national security investigations. In certain instances, the government coordinates with non-government, third-party entities, such as law firms, that represent service providers which receive these classified Court-orders. This includes providing access to private attorneys which represent the service providers in satisfaction of their legal rights. As part of this, the FBI ensures that any storage of classified orders meets stringent security protocols required for such documents.”
Ah, so the FBI’s statement makes it sounds as if this arrangement were just business as usual. But the problem is this: Gaetz and Jordan have already asked former federal prosecutors on the Judiciary Committee and around the country about this, and none of them have come up with other examples of these “certain instances” that involved private law firms --- certainly not with a portal that provides access to the FBI's database on individuals! The experts found this arrangement highly unusual.

On Tucker Carlson’s Wednesday show, Gaetz explained, “We got a report from a whistleblower that we confirmed through multiple admissions, including this letter [from Perkins Coie], showing the Democrat Party’s law firm, the law firm that received $42 million from the Democrat Party, has this co-located workspace that they operate in concert with the FBI. Why in the world would that be the case? Why would Christopher Wray allow it to continue?”
As you know, Perkins Coie received those millions from the Democrats to fund the creation of anti-Trump oppo research, specifically the fake stories appearing in the Steele “dossier.” In turn, the “dossier” stories, as well as the fake Alfa Bank story, were taken to...their friends at the FBI.
Gaetz said, “...Our concern is that politically motivated dirt was being converted into politically motivated investigations. That’s why Jim Jordan and I are making demands on Christopher Wray immediately, and it’s my hope that we shut this facility down.”
Recall that President Trump hired Director Wray, obviously not realizing –- at least, not quite yet –- just how thoroughly swampy the intel community was. It seems whoever had recommended Wray for the job of FBI director had given the new President some very bad advice. Recall also how the Democrats. with their investigation into so-called Russia collusion (sparked, as we now know, by an order from Hillary Clinton herself), were able to move the chess pieces so that if Trump fired anyone in the DOJ, it was bizarrely interpreted as an impeachable offense, “obstruction of justice.” That’s what Trump was accused of when he fired Director James Comey, even though he was acting within his authority as President to do so.
But now Trump is gone, and Wray is still there. His job in the swamp is safe as long as the Democrats are in charge. In the meantime, this “certain instance” of an inappropriate working relationship with a private “ultra-Democrat” law firm, especially involving a direct portal into the FBI database, must be exposed immediately, whether Wray is cooperative or not. That’s why, unless there’s some legitimate mitigating factor we don’t know about –- and what could that possibly even be? –- we’re a bit puzzled by the scant reporting so far on this by FOX News TV. Sunshine is the best disinfectant.
5. The cost of leftism is staggering
The research firm Wirepoints released an analysis of the financial repercussions of so many people fleeing blue states for red states, and fewer people moving into blue states. The cost of all that leftism is staggering.
The biggest loser was New York, which lost 250,000 residents in 2019, many of them high earners. They took a net $19.5 billion in taxable income with them, a major hit to the state’s tax base. They were followed by California, which lost 263,000 residents earning $17.8 billion; Illinois, which bid adieu to 101,000 residents and their $8.5 billion in income; Massachusetts ($2.6 billion lost) and New Jersey ($2.3 billion lost.)
The biggest winners were Florida (163,000 new residents with $23.7 billion in income), Texas with a net resident income increase of $6.3 billion, and Arizona with an added $4.8 billion.
The Framers saw the individual states as labs for ideas and policies. Something that worked on the state level first might be tried on a national level, and ideas that failed could be discarded before they caused any nationwide damage. Judging by how people are voting with both their wallets and their feet, it’s obvious that leftist ideas and policies should not only be discarded, they should be sealed in airtight containers and buried in a deep hole filled with concrete.
6. “Pride Month”
June is “Pride Month,” which you’ve no doubt figured out from all the social media and email ads flooding your screens, bedecked with colored logos so complicated that the once simple “rainbow” symbol of gay pride now looks like someone put a 64-crayon box of Crayolas in a blender. It’s hard to say whether all this frantic LGBTQ+++ virtue signaling is born out of actual support, pandering for commercial purposes, or fear of the cancel culture cornfield kids. But everyone’s getting into the act to a ridiculous level.
Probably the most bizarre was the tweet from the US Marines, boasting of their LGBTQ+++infinity inclusiveness by showing a combat helmet with a row of bullets in the band, each tipped in a different festive color. This gives a new meaning to the phrase, “Your hat is to DIE for!” I hope they don't misgender any enemy soldiers by shooting them with the wrong shade of bullet.

And our Treasury Secretary might have to admit she was deadly wrong about inflation, but who cares about a minor boo-boo like that when you’re the first Treasury Secretary to fly a Gay Pride flag on the US Treasury Building?
Of course, the private sector is putting on a dress and getting into the act. To cite just one of many examples, here are some major corporations bragging about how they’re sponsoring drag shows for children. Yes, they include PBS. Your tax dollars at work.
Here’s a California public charter school taking to Twitter to boast about their “proud, queer, Asian-Latinx” teacher who “often teaches his five-year-olds about the complexities of intersectionality.” I wonder if he’s taught them any letters of the alphabet at all beyond “L, G, B, T and Q”? I like the first response to that tweet: “What would education be if we weren’t discussing why we love queer sex with five-year-olds?”

And we have 27 more days of this! I hope that all of those companies learn the lesson that Amazon is learning now: when you knuckle under and grovel to an unreasonable, radical minority, it’s never enough. Amazon tried to hold a Gay Pride flag raising in Seattle, and it was canceled when some of their own employees staged a “Die-in” protest, demanding that Amazon ban books that they claim promote hatred and transphobia and will lead to LGBTQ people being killed.
These deadly books include Matt Walsh’s children’s book “Johnny the Walrus,” which lampoons the idea of giving drugs and surgery to children because they say they’re the opposite sex. It’s as insane as giving a little boy who claims he’s a walrus surgery to implant tusks and fins.
Personally, I could make a far better case that socialism and communism have killed tens of millions of people, but Amazon continues selling books by people like Bernie Sanders (it’s how he can afford three houses.) But I’m not demanding that those books be banned. Only that we improve education so people will be smart enough not to read them.
You can believe in tolerance and defend people’s right to live however they want but still reserve the right to criticize any group when their behavior crosses the line. Book banning and violating free speech rights crosses the line. These activists used to say they wanted the right to be treated like anyone else, but now they’re demanding to be a special superclass that’s above criticism and can censor and destroy anyone who dares question their dogma.
Well, I sense a change in the wind. On the whole, Americans are very tolerant, live-and-let-live people. But we also have an innate sense of fairness. I get the distinct feeling that we’ve reached our limit with indulging these delusional dictators and no longer care if they threaten to throw another public tantrum. If you want something to be proud of this month, then be proud that LGBTQ people are finally accepted in society just like anyone else. That means being subject to criticism or mockery when you deserve it, just like all the rest of us are. That isn’t hatred or violence. It’s real life.
Related: Sure, Gay Pride parades may include public nudity and kinky sex, but you should take your children to them anyway. So says the website Fatherly.com. Notice I didn’t say they were called “Good Father-ly.”
Here’s a little secret about Gay Pride parades that you never hear in the media: I’ve talked to gay people who’ve privately told me they’re mortified by the aggressively offensive displays in some of these parades and think they set back their cause of societal acceptance. I guess they’re afraid to say that publicly because they’ll be called homophobic.
