A Closer Look At Joe Biden's Poll Numbers

One of the big topics of the talking heads over the weekend was recent polling from ABC and NBC, showing President Biden with an approval rating of about 52%, ten points higher than Trump’s at the 100-day mark. This might have made you feel baffled and discouraged, wondering how your fellow Americans could be so blind to the immense damage being done to our country by his rubberstamping of the far left’s agenda.
Well, don’t lose faith in the good sense of your fellow Americans just yet. Stacey Lennox of PJ Media took a deeper look at those poll numbers, and things aren’t nearly as rosy for the “transforming America” brigade as the media want you to think.
First of all, we do have to acknowledge that most people don’t know what’s really going as well as readers of my newsletter do. If you get your “news” from the liberal outlets, you might not even know about the disaster at the border, the rising crime rates, the skyrocketing national debt, the threats to the economy and the Constitution, the increasing aggressiveness of China, Russia and Iran, and all the other problems stemming from the Great Mistake Of November 2020. For the majority of “news” media outlets, a tough question for Biden is something like, “Sir, do you think migrants are coming to America because your kind face exudes so much love?” They’re more protective of Biden than a mother cat is of her kittens.
But as Ms. Lennox points out, a closer look at those polls reveals some dark clouds forming for the Democrats. First of all, even at 52%, Biden’s approval rating is still the third-lowest since Harry Truman, ahead of only Trump and Gerald Ford, both of whom were savaged by the media (Obama's was 17 points higher than Biden's.) And the only reason it’s that high is because it's pulled up by the 64% and 69% positive ratings for his handling of the pandemic, which I will note (since he never does) is largely something he inherited from Trump and that is handled mostly on the state and local levels.
The NBC poll found that on his handling of race, guns, China, and taxes and spending, his approval rating is below 50%. On his handling of the border, it’s in the 30s. The NBC poll also found that 56% of Americans think the nation is on the wrong track, and a plurality of 48% want smaller government with fewer services. Add to this that the NBC poll oversampled Democrats by 6%, and the ABC poll by 9%.
As I’ve been telling you for over a decade now: don’t let skewed polls get you down or discourage you from voting or working to elect your candidates. Let them instead act as a way for your opponents to fool themselves into complacency. Remember all the polls that said Hillary Clinton was so sure to win, she didn’t even need to visit the swing states? Well, how did that work out for her?

Desperate, Washington Post "Fact-Checker" Attacks Tim Scott

Washington Post “fact-checker” Glenn Kessler is getting some well-deserved blowback for an outrageous attempt to question my friend Sen. Tim Scott’s comment that his black family went “from cotton to Congress in one lifetime.” It’s because his great-great-grandfather once owned 900 acres in South Carolina. Scott has acknowledged that, but he was talking about his grandfather, who picked cotton on a family farm and only got a fourth grade education.
You can read more about this transparent (and if a Republican had launched it at a black Democrat, blatantly racist) hit piece and the real history behind it here.
And Redstate has a good roundup of the reactions. Even one “progressive” expressed outrage at the privileged white liberal journalist suggesting that a black man from the South didn’t have it so bad as he claimed.
Still, I suppose Sen. Scott should take the media’s desperate attempts to destroy him as a positive sign. He’s set to give the GOP response to an upcoming Biden address, and they must be terrified that he’ll shatter the false narrative they’ve carefully constructed about Republicans. Just like the attempted “60 Minutes” hatchet job on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the attack on Sen. Scott shows who they view as the rising Republican stars who have to be taken out early. It’s not going to work, but it is very enlightening to see who they’re scared of.
Today’s Episode Of “Leftists Ruin Everything They Touch”

Today’s episode of “Leftists Ruin Everything They Touch” focuses on theme parks, particularly Disney theme parks.
The Orlando Sentinel ran a scathing op-ed from a (former?) Disney superfan, blasting the “woke” changes that are ruining her visits to Disney World by destroying the happy, innocent Disney vacation mood with a lot of political virtue-signaling. Instead of being able to escape to Fantasy Land, visitors are being greeted with Tattoo and Beard Land, Diversity Land, Inclusion Land, Cancel Culture Land, Revisionist History Land and “If-You-Thought-We-Were-Whiny-And-Annoying-Today-Just-Wait-Until-Tomorrowland!”
“Party of Science” Update

After the government forced thousands of restaurants to close, many of them never to reopen; and then kept them operating at 15, 25 or 50% capacity for months, new MIT research suggests that capacity limits make no difference whatsoever.
The MIT model factored in a number of variables to calculate the risk of exposure to COVID-19 while indoors, including ventilation, mask use, time spent there and more. They found that the rule of distancing people at six feet or more had no physical basis, since in a well-ventilated room, air (with moisture droplets containing the virus) tends to rise, travel and come back down somewhere else. They also found that the risk of contracting the virus in a large, well-ventilated room, even one with a lot of other people, was very small. The major risk factor was how long you stayed in the room, and most diners don’t stay long enough to create a significant risk.
One of the researchers said, “We argue there really isn’t much of a benefit to the six-foot rule, especially when people are wearing masks.” If a restaurant is large enough and well-ventilated, “the amount of time people spend together is such that those spaces can be safely operated even at full capacity and the scientific support for reduced capacity in those spaces is really not very good. I think if you run the numbers, even right now for many types of spaces, you’d find that there is not a need for occupancy restrictions.” And yet, in many places, we still have them.
One year after the government started forcing restaurants out of business, someone finally did some research to prove it wasn’t necessary. This comes shortly after another study found that your risk of contracting the virus by touching a contaminated surface is really only about 1-in-10,000. It might have been nice to do some of this research before killing the economy and destroying millions of Americans’ dreams and livelihoods.
Now would someone please tell our President, who is full vaccinated but who won’t even take off his mask while walking alone outdoors through Arlington National Cemetery or while holding a Zoom conference with other world leaders (none of whom were wearing masks because they know this is one virus you can’t catch over an Internet connection.)
Uncle Joe Biden Continues To Push For Cancelling Fourth Of July Celebrations, Despite Encouraging Vaccine Data

In a related story to the one above, with over 120 million vaccination shots having been given and many more Americans already having had COVID and recovered, much of America is starting to ignore the doomsayers who seem to want to keep the pandemic going as long as possible. But President Biden insists that we will still need to cancel even small, outdoor Fourth of July celebrations. Pushing that idea on what is literally a day of celebration of American independence isn’t going over well with a lot of Americans who don’t need Uncle Joe to tell them if they’re allowed to celebrate the Fourth of July.
This article also is the first I’ve seen that actually puts a number to Dr. Fauci’s dire warning that even people who’ve been vaccinated can still be infected. The latest figures show that out of 66 million Americans who’ve been fully vaccinated, 5,800 still caught the virus. That puts the risk of infection for vaccinated people at 0.008%. And a CDC spokesperson said, “Based on what we know about vaccines for other diseases and early data from clinical trials, experts believe that getting a COVID-19 vaccine might also help keep you from getting seriously ill, even if you do get COVID-19."
As for the argument that we have to keep America shut down indefinitely because the COVID vaccine doesn’t protect you 100%, here’s an article from 2019 about how the vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella also doesn’t protect you 100%.
It notes that if 1,000 vaccinated people are exposed to measles, about 30 would catch it. Some people who are vaccinated still get those diseases, which can be very serious, even deadly, in adults. And there was a small resurgence of measles that year, with even some vaccinated people catching it. Yet, as near as I can recall, we did not cancel the Fourth of July in 2019, just to be on the safe side.
Armchair Cops

A lot of armchair cops are criticizing the Columbus police officer who shot and killed a 16-year-old black girl who was charging at another girl with a knife and threatening to stab her. But at least one person has publicly expressed the opinion that the cop did the right thing. It‘s the other black teenage girl who might’ve been stabbed to death if he hadn’t fired.

"Keep Nine" Movement Gains Steam

When the Democrats first dropped the façade of bipartisanship and went pedal-to-the-metal on packing the Supreme Court, I mentioned that there was a counter-movement being launched to pass a Constitutional Amendment, fixing the number of SCOTUS Justices at nine.
The “Keep Nine" movement is now gaining steam, and unlike the false claims from the White House, it really is bipartisan. It’s even led by a Democrat and former Virginia Attorney General, and a majority of the 15 state attorneys general who started it are Democrats.
That linked story notes that polls show overwhelming majorities of both Democrats and Republicans support the Keep Nine Amendment, with overall public support of 62% and only 18% opposed. But as we’ve learned with the current powers in Washington, the fact that the majority of Americans don’t want their radical plans won’t deter them at all.
I urge you to read the full story at the link to be wised up by “Keep Nine” executive director Roman Buhler as to the Democrat strategy in Washington for getting voters to let down their guard. Nutshell: they now see how unpopular this is, so they plan to say there will of course be no court-packing, they’ll publicly deny any such plans and even voice support for the Keep Nine Amendment, until they can get past the 2022 elections. If they can lull the public into complacency until they get a majority in the Senate, you’ll then see court-packing passed so fast, you won’t know what hit you.
