DAILY BIBLE VERSE
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5
Certain Internet “gatekeepers” have decided my newsletter's fate...
I wrote recently about an investigation into all the liberal groups that fund and feed “information” to the A.P., and how that helps to explain why so many “news stories” on subjects like “climate change” read like activist group press releases. From those stories, you’d think there is no other viewpoint other than turned-up-to-11 hysteria. But that’s not at all true, as this story shows.
Unfortunately, if I summarize that story for you, it would possibly result in this newsletter being demonetized or blocked or having our ads removed by certain Internet “gatekeepers” who have decided that their views are the only objective truths allowed to be aired in public. This is why, if you’d like to help pay my staffers so that we can keep bringing you the real stories every American needs to know, you should subscribe to the Substack version. Just click here:
https://govmikehuckabee.
You’ll find subscription plans as low as $3 a month for the full newsletter with exclusive subscriber-only content, no gatekeeper censorship, and no ads. Plus, you get a 20% discount on “Huckabee” merchandise, so unlike an electric car, it really does pay for itself! But sorry, no government subsidies.
I email daily and my politics newsletters usually take 10-15 minutes to read. I cover the news of the day and the liberal media. I write about the upcoming elections and dive deep on the Biden scandals. I will also share my opinion of the Trump indictments. I don’t think you will regret supporting a reporting of the facts, not the liberal bias the mainstream media gives you these days!
With gratitude,
Mike Huckabee

RIP Dianne Feinstein
It was announced this morning that longtime California Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein died early this morning at 90. She was first elected to the Senate in 1992 and was the longest-serving female Senator in history. California Gov. Gavin Newsom will appoint an interim replacement.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/california-senator-dianne-feinstein-dead-90
No cause of death was given, but she’d suffered a number of health issues recently, her cognitive abilities were questioned, she’d missed votes and had been pressured to retire, which she refused to do.
I hope that remaining in the Senate literally until her dying day was her own choice, but I can’t help thinking of the famous observation that nobody ever said at the end of their life that they wished they’d spent more time at the office. I offer my sincere condolences and prayers for her family, and hope that other political figures of advanced ages who think the government can’t survive without them might realize there are better and more rewarding ways to spend your final days on Earth than dealing with politics.
“Delusional”
Nick Arama at Redstate.com has more comments from Florida real estate professionals who call the judge who found Trump guilty of wildly overvaluing his properties “delusional.” Trump valued his 20-acre Mar-A-Lago estate and golf course at $612 million. The Realtors noted that two plots of land near Mar-A-Lago that are about one-tenth the size but have nothing on them are on the market for $150 million and $200 million.
Latest example of naked partisanship
I’ve said before that when the left developed galloping Trump Derangement Syndrome, they became incapable of even pretending anymore that they weren’t acting out of naked partisanship. The latest example is the DC judge in Jack Smith’s prosecution of Donald Trump for allegedly attempting to overturn the 2020 election. She rejected his attorneys’ request that she recuse herself for her multiple biased statements during previous trials, such as suggesting that he should be in jail. She claims none of those statements suggest that she's prejudiced against him.
If you’d like to take the time to dig into the legal wrangling, here’s what she would have us believe were entirely unbiased comments, and an opinion on why that’s ludicrous…
https://twitchy.com/aaronwalker/2023/09/28/technofog-ruling-in-trumps-dc-case-defies-belief-n2387885
And to show I’m fair and balanced, CNN got a law professor to argue that her statements are “nothing close” to meeting the standard of “displaying antagonism” toward Trump.
https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/28/opinions/trump-indictment-tanya-chutkan-recusal-lubet/index.html
Personally, I think Sean Davis of The Federalist struck closest to the truth:
“She will never recuse. This trial is her retirement package. It is her future book proposal and million-dollar advance. She doesn’t care if SCOTUS nukes her case post-conviction. She is going to convict Trump to become a Democrat celebrity, and nothing is going to stop her.”
Bipartisan Agreement
Who says there’s no such thing anymore as bipartisan agreement? Tuesday, the House voted 424-1 for the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act, with over 200 Democrats joining Republicans to overturn the Biden Administration’s ban on funding for schools that offer hunting and archery programs. The ban was based on an idiotic reading of the 2022 Safer Communities Act, because archery, hunter education and wilderness safety programs involve weapons that are “technically dangerous.” I’d say they are far less dangerous than government power in the hands of this Administration.
https://www.westernjournal.com/200-dems-side-gop-bidens-crackdown-hunting-archery/
In case you’re wondering, the sole vote against came from El Paso, Texas, Democrat Rep. Veronica Escobar, a gun control advocate who most recently made news for calling her Republican colleagues who opposed the latest government funding bill “extremists.” I’m pretty sure you can’t get much more extreme than being outvoted 424-1.
But don’t get your hopes up that sanity is making a comeback in the House. This week, Rep. Chip Roy introduced a bill to stop the Pentagon from spending taxpayer money to host drag queen events on military bases. There are any number of reasons that should be stopped. But the bill failed when all 213 Democrats voted against it, and they were joined by 18 Republicans. In case you’re wondering, their names are in this story…
Equal Justice: Merrick Garland style
To nobody’s surprise, get ready for federal authorities to drop Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents that he had no business possessing by storing them in his unsecured garage, ruling it “more likely a mistake than a criminal act.” Meanwhile, they’re charging Trump with dozens of felonies for having his own Administration’s documents that he had the right to declassify stored in a locked room protected by both armed private security and Secret Service agents.
That’s “equal justice,” Merrick Garland style.
Our Shorts National Nightmare Is Over!
The backlash over Chuck Schumer relaxing the Senate dress code to let John Fetterman galumph around in hoodies and shorts has resulted in rare bipartisan passage of a resolution formalizing business attire as the official Senate dress code and forcing Fetterman to put on big boy pants.
Not since the days of Bill Clinton has the fact that a Democrat politician is actually wearing pants been such big news.
Consumer Alert!
Kia issued a recall and is warning owners of about 2 million vehicles to park them outside away from structures until a faulty brake hydraulic control unit can be replaced. It can short circuit and cause fires. This covers a number of models going all the way back to 2010. You can see the list here (my own writers drive one, so they considered this rather important to pass along.)

Warning:
If you have high blood pressure, you’d better take your medicine before reading this story about a 92-year-old Korean War veteran who was kicked out of his nursing home on Staten Island because it’s being converted into a facility to house some of Biden’s illegal immigrants (note that we don’t call them “migrants” because that implies that they intend to keep moving and not stay here forever.)
Reality Bites:
The American Anthropological Association (AAA) and Canadian Anthropology Society (CASCA) have canceled a joint conference planned for November called "Let’s Talk About Sex, Baby: Why Biological Sex Remains a Necessary Analytic Category in Anthropology." The reason: admitting that biological sex is a reality might “harm” the “safety and dignity” of “Trans and LGBTQI (members) of the anthropological community.”
FYI: “Anthropology” is defined as “the scientific study of humanity, concerned with human behavior, human biology, cultures, societies, and linguistics.” Which words should we remove from that definition: “biology,” “scientific” or both?
Congratulations
Congratulations yet again to our writer Laura Ainsworth, who is also a fantastic retro jazz singer and recording artist and second-generation musician (her late dad Bill Ainsworth played sax and clarinet with Tommy Dorsey, Tex Beneke, Freddy Martin and other great big band leaders.) After winning several awards for her latest album of requested standards, “You Asked For It,” she’s just been named a double winner of the Fall, 2023, Clouzine International Music Awards for Best Jazz Album and Best Jazz Video (“Goldfinger.”)
See, great music is still being made today, even if it was originally written over half a century ago. To get Laura’s recordings and to see the “Goldfinger” video, click here:
Day One of Biden impeachment inquiry: a massive pile of evidence
Before the first day of the Biden impeachment inquiry, it was billed by the House Oversight and Accountability Committee as a “primer,” with no direct witnesses (that day) but a lot of on-the-record material that would bring viewers up to speed on what we know to this point. In addition, there would be financial and legal experts such as Jonathan Turley, not to serve as witnesses to what the Bidens did but to help clarify the law that would apply in the ongoing investigation and possible impeachment. This was made clear going in.
Nevertheless, the main talking point the Democrats pushed in their analysis of Thursday’s hearing was that the Republicans “didn’t bring it” --- didn’t offer any fact witnesses to implicate President Biden. Did they not understand what today’s hearing was going to be? Of course they did --- they just hope YOU didn’t.
Rep. Jamie Raskin was, as usual, among the worst, saying in his closing statement, “If the Republicans had the smoking gun, or even a dripping water pistol, they would be presenting it today, but they’ve got nothing on Joe Biden.” On the contrary, the smoke in that room was so thick, they might have needed to open some windows. Here’s a side note about Raskin’s comments, showing that Raskin has a short memory regarding floor votes to open impeachment inquiries.
If you have a strong stomach and want to see how deep in denial Democrats are concerning the evidence against Joe Biden, read about Ken Dilanian at MSNBC...
South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace had no patience with this “no evidence” garbage. She let them have it in a must-see video (slight language alert):
TOWNHALL has a strong opinion piece on the claims of “no evidence” as well.
Yet FOX NEWS’ Neil Cavuto, in his analysis immediately following, was glued to Democrat talking points, as if Republicans were expected to impeach and convict President Biden on the first day of this inquiry. He should know better.
But if you read this newsletter, you did understand the purpose of this introductory hearing. And before it began, REDSTATE posted a similar preview, titled “The Basis for an Impeachment Inquiry of President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.” To be clear: not the basis for an impeachment, but for an impeachment INQUIRY. Judge Jeanine Pirro went further on Thursday: “You save your evidence for the trial.”
The REDSTATE article noted that FOX NEWS’ Chad Pergram had said the hearing “likely won’t go over anything new, but instead focus on what has already been made publicly available, using the evidence the House Oversight Committee has previously uncovered. However, that will just be in order to lay the groundwork for what is to come.” This hearing is being held to explain why further inquiry is necessary.
Exactly. In other words, stay tuned. As former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo said later in the day on FOX NEWS, the Democrats should be careful what they wish for if they’re calling for direct witnesses, because all that is coming. In fact, Comer has just subpoenaed both Hunter and James Biden, seeking to compel all their personal and business bank records and those of their affiliated companies.
We’re even wondering if the email and text records of Hunter, his business associates, family members and White House contacts might have even more evidentiary value than their testimony would have, as it reflects a contemporaneous account of what was going on. It’s not subject to failing memory or deliberate lying or shading of the truth in service to a desired narrative. It’s WHAT WAS ACTUALLY HAPPENING AT THAT TIME. House committees have gathered lots of it.
One member of Congress who didn’t get this --- is she being willfully obtuse or is she really that dumb? --- is Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas. When her time came to speak, she fiercely said this: “But I can tell you what the President has been guilty of! He has unfortunately been guilty of loving his child unconditionally, and that is the only evidence that they have brought forward! Honestly, I hope and pray that my parents love me half as much as he loves his child! Until they find some evidence, we need to get back to the people’s work, which means keeping this government open so that people don’t go hungry in the streets of the United States. I will yield.” An Academy-Award-worthy performance.
Presumably, she thought this display was going to be persuasive, but it simply looked as though she had lost her mind.
But, predictably, the Democrat House member who gave the most cringeworthy, embarrassing performance of all was New York Rep. Daniel Goldman. Let’s go to the videotape…
It was great to hear that law professor Jonathan Turley would be on the witness panel Thursday. But since the hearing, Democrats have been sharing a misleadingly edited video of what he said. (Turley is one of these rare analysts who really are even-handed and weigh both sides, and this makes it relatively easy to cherry-pick his comments to suit one side or the other.)
Turley at one point said, “I do not believe that the current evidence would support articles of impeachment.” Democrats tweeted this sentence widely. The DAILY BEAST quoted it, no doubt popping the champagne corks as they did so. But they chose not to quote him in full:
“I want to emphasize what it is that we’re here today for. This is a question of an impeachment inquiry. It is not a vote on articles of impeachment. In fact, I do not believe that the current evidence would support articles of impeachment. That is something that an inquiry has to establish. But I also do believe that the House has passed the threshold for an impeachment inquiry into the conduct of President Biden.”
This is deliberate deception on the part of the Democrats. Why should anyone expect anything different?
As Jeff Charles of REDSTATE says, and we have been saying for weeks, this is an impeachment INQUIRY. The Democrats are counting on people not knowing the difference. They hope you’re stupid enough to buy what they’re selling.
Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, who used to work in banking and knows the ins and outs of shell companies, blew up Democrats’ claim of “no evidence.” He announced, “To my colleagues on the other side --- we are going to start talking about evidence now.” Then he began asking one of the expert witnesses, forensic accountant Bruce Dubinsky, if certain things would have caused him concern. Yes, Dubinsky had to admit that red flags would be raised.
He asked former Assistant Attorney General Eileen O’Connor what she thought of a WhatsApp message between Hunter and his Uncle Jim, saying that Jim had been brought in “purely for the purpose of protecting Dad.” She said that, yes, it would lead the Committee to get further information about the business and how this pertained to “protecting Dad.”
Donalds also asked Dubinsky about that message from Hunter to his daughter in which he complains about having to pay everything for the family for “30 years” and says, “Unlike pop, I wouldn’t make you give me half your salary.” Donalds asked Dubinsky if in such a scenario, he would be looking for money going from son to father. “Absolutely, without a doubt,” Dubinsky said.
And there was this stunner: A message from Jim BIDEN to Hunter when Hunter was apparently drugged out, saying that instead of working through Hunter, “I can work with your father alone!!!! We as usual just need several months of his help for this to work.” “AS USUAL”?? O’Connor had to say, this was worth investigating.
McDonald’s presentation and questions are magnificent, a must-see. Video is here...
Finally, text messages show that Joe Biden requested a meeting with a Chinese oil executive who had paid Hunter millions of dollars in consulting fees just a few weeks before.
On August 27, 2017, in a WhatsApp message to CEFC director Gongwen Dong, Hunter said his
“uncle’s BROTHER” (emphasis his) would be in New York City and wanted to meet with CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming. (CEFC is the Chinese energy conglomerate with ties to the CCP.)
Show of hands --- how many of you have ever referred to your father as your uncle’s brother? I’ll be a monkey’s uncle if any of you have. Why would anyone use that tortured verbiage if not to avoid leaving any clear written evidence that implicated dear old dad?
Anyway, this message is consistent with other messages on Hunter’s laptop. And earlier that month, CEFC had fired off more than $5 million to Hunter Biden’s company, Hudson West III.
As Bonchie at REDSTATE points out, this makes no sense. If Biden was so disconnected from his son’s business dealings, and he didn’t even know this man, why would he meet with him? This had to be what the Chinese were paying for with their millions, because there really was nothing else.
That’s the question the Democrats will never answer: If these governments and shady businesses weren’t buying influence from Hunter Biden, what in the world were they paying him millions for? Did they hope that with his legendary artistic skills, he might doodle them a corporate logo or new national flag?

As you read in the newsletter yesterday, references to Joe Biden (“Political figure 1”) in a search warrant were ordered removed by Delaware Assistant Attorney General Lesley Wolf. In case you didn’t see that...
Yesterday, we reported that there was evidence of a CNN producer having an email in which Hunter says he expects his legal problems to “go away” once his father is President. To date, this has still not been made public. So, where did it go?
Elon Musk did what our own “border czar” Kamala Harris has never done:
He actually went to a section of the border that’s one of the worst for illegal crossings, and he livestreamed what he saw to give Americans a look at what Biden hath wrought.
https://www.foxnews.com/us/elon-musk-livestreams-border-give-people-firsthand-account-migrant-crisis
Musk said previously that the border needs to be secured and “we actually do need a wall and we need to require people to have some shred of evidence to claim asylum to enter, as everyone is doing that. It’s a hack that you can literally Google to know exactly what to say!” He also said that as an immigrant himself, he’s “extremely pro-immigrant” and wants expanded immigration for “hard-working and honest people,” but not those who are going to break the law.
https://www.westernjournal.com/musk-cant-take-anymore-declares-going-border-need-wall/
Meanwhile, someone other than Musk captured video of a border patrol agent cutting the razor wire barrier put up by Texas authorities so that more illegal entrants could come into the US. One even gave the agent a fist bump in thanks as they passed by.
https://www.westernjournal.com/illegal-alien-fist-bumps-border-patrol-agent-cuts-border-wire/
On the other hand, who are you gonna believe when it comes to the border: Your lying eyes or “Squad” member Ayanna Pressley? She assured CNN’s Jake Tapper, “No doubt about it, our border is secure!” That was so jaw-droppingly stupid that even Jake Tapper had a hard time swallowing it.
Related: The same Democrat leaders of New York City who once self-righteously declared it a “sanctuary city” for “undocumented immigrants” (i.e., illegal aliens) are now passing out flyers to the hordes of illegal immigrants overrunning the city. The flyers tell them they’ve been misinformed and that New York City is not a good place for them to be. They are told that the city is unable to help them obtain work visas, shelter stay limits are being reduced from 60 to 30 days, social service resources have been exhausted, and New York is “one of the most expensive cities in the world; you are better off going to a more affordable city."
Nice of them to try to palm off their self-created problem on cities with less money. But at least the migrants can take solace in knowing that if they do get out of New York City for someplace more livable and affordable, they can consider themselves “Americans.”
