Does anyone think the Democrat Party is going-for-broke this year because they’re resigned to the idea of maybe losing to Trump this time? Believe it or not, we’ve actually heard this one --- that the party leadership must be thinking, “Hey, it’s just not our time. Come on, we’ll have four years to build up our shallow bench of candidates, win in 2028, and pick up right where we left off destroying the Constitution and cementing our power!”
Not on your life. If Trump returns to the White House, especially with a GOP Congress and Senate, there’s too much he can and will do to expose and dismantle the power of their so-called permanent bureaucracy, and they know it. (And, yes, some of the needed reform will also serve as “revenge,” in this case perfectly justified and well deserved.) Yet, knowing this, the party leadership still CHOSE this mediocre ticket; primary voters got no say and are just expected to pretend, as they pretended Biden was fit for office.
Bur for the Democrats, especially after 2016, losing is not an option. So for the Democrat elite to choose a ticket this non-competitive, it must be that they’re counting on something else --- or a combination of things --- besides the names on that ticket.
Of course, this still might not be the final ticket, even if right now it’s “official.” Depending on the polls, they might know how they can pull some other “official” rabbit out of some “official” hat. But if they’re truly stuck with these two, there’s always the option of cheating, in a variety of ways.
Certainly we can’t prove something that might or might not happen in the future, but everyone knows that in a number of swing states, Democrats have set up conditions to make cheating easy and almost impossible to detect. For example, Maricopa County, Arizona, in direct violation of their state law, is refusing to to remove illegal immigrant voters from their rolls, according to Stephen Miller at America First Legal. The AFL has filed a lawsuit, on behalf of Strong Communities Foundation of Arizona and a registered voter and naturalized citizen, against Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, alleging that he is “unlawfully permitting illegal aliens and foreign citizens to interfere in the 2024 election.”
By law, Richer is required to do a monthly list maintenance to verify the citizenship status of registered voters who have not provided proof of citizenship. Richer says through his attorney that he’s doing this, but the number of such voters has been steadily rising over the months, and the databases have not been accessed to verify voters’ citizenship. That’s not just in Maricopa County, but statewide, so AFL has sent letters to all 15 counties warning them of legal action if this isn’t done.
Side note: You might have heard that Richer, in office since 2021, lost his primary election and will not have another term as county recorder. That is happily true, but until his current term is over, it’s up to him to keep things honest in Maricopa County. Good thing AFL is looking over his shoulder. I just hope they can get around the federal judges who think that making sure only citizens vote would create “chaos and confusion.”
Then there’s the matter of mysteriously-sourced campaign donations, which of course affects not just Trump vs. Harris but all the big and little races up and down the ballot. You’ll recall that James O’Keefe, starting back in his Project Veritas days and still at it with his team of “citizen journalists,” has been documenting what looks for all the world like money laundering on the part of ActBlue, the Democrat fundraising group. O’Keefe has visited with many registered voters, mostly retired and living on modest incomes, whose names were listed in FEC records as Democrat donors when they had not given any such money. Here’s one of the latest examples, a must-see video that also provides instructions on how the rest of us can help expose this...
Mark Tapscott of PJ MEDIA has a piece about this as well. The scam is called “Smurfing” --- appropriate in this case because Smurfs are blue. He quotes Election Watch describing how it works and saying that “some consider this to be a form of fraud, money laundering and/or identity theft.” SOME CONSIDER?? This should not be a gray area; if someone’s name is being used to hide the origin of illegal campaign donations, that is all three of those things.
Election Watch understates the problem: “While these matters seem to remain at least somewhat under debate, or yet still to be debated and/or resolved, we nonetheless find individuals’ transaction data within the herein datasets that demonstrate numbers and patterns of transactions under individuals’ names indeed appear to be highly questionable.”
As Tapscott reports, “Election Watch has compiled thousands of examples of a recent pattern that consists of elderly women making tens of thousands of donations of varying amounts to Democratic candidates and progressive activist groups.” EW did the math and saw that someone who had made 25,000 donations, spending just three minutes to make each, “would have to do nothing but make contributions, 24/7, for 52 days. No bathroom breaks, no meals, no sleep.”
That’s clearly not what’s going on. The theory is that someone --- could be China, Russia --- provides millions of dollars to large groups of individuals who are paid to submit donations using names of elderly people gleaned from old FEC records. ActBlue might be just one of the conduits, and the scale could be massive.

Let’s see...what other form of dishonesty might the Democrats use to push through their terrible ticket? I know, suppressing the truth about how radical those two are and pushing messages making Trump and Vance look like “weird” far-right extremists! For that, of course, they need control of the media, especially social media, and we’ve already seen from the “Twitter Files” how diligently they worked ahead of the 2020 election to maintain that.
They’re doing it again.
Recall that the Supreme Court decided, tragically for the First Amendment, not to wade into the issue of whether it’s constitutional for the government to form a public-private partnership with social media. As NATIONAL REVIEW reports, the FBI is resuming those “regular meetings” with social media companies ahead of the 2024 election. At least Inspector General Michael Horowitz has called for them to “increase their transparency” about this to safeguard freedom of speech. And there’s a “new procedure” that “requires them to tell social-media companies that the FBI is not expecting them to take any action in response to the information they provide.”
Well, don’t you feel better knowing that?
We’ve written at length about social media censorship and the deplatforming of news outlets (such as our own) that present opinions said by the left to be “harmful.” Recall the Global Disinformation Index --- a British group that received U.S. funds --- which was created to discourage advertisers from supporting certain sites and destroy those sites’ financial incentive. In fact, the Huckabee newsletter had the distinction of coming in just below their notorious “Top Ten,” which included THE FEDERALIST, REASON and AMERICAN THINKER.
GDI warned advertisers against “financially supporting disinformation online.” And now, the modern blacklisting system also includes NewsGuard and the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM). Jonathan Turley has an informative column about the developments in this area. Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, is investigating, demanding documents from leading companies using the GARM rating system, but Turley says “time is of the essence.” Elon Musk has also filed suit.
As Turley says, “It is an effort to strangle the financial life out of sites by targeting their donors and advertisers. This is where the left has excelled beyond anything that has come before in speech crackdowns.” His column is a must-read.
So, there’s huge potential for dishonesty afoot in the next few months. Really, there’s only one thing we can think of that might stop the Democrats from cheating: the belief that cheating would be unfair, dishonest and, well, just the wrong way to win.
Who am I kidding?
So all kinds of cheating are on the table. Maybe the Democrats aren’t so worried about having such mediocre candidates because they figure they can tilt that table enough to win. Or, if Trump wins, they’ll pull some other rabbit out of some hat. If all else fails, Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin has ideas…
Sure sounds to me like election denial and a call for insurrection.
