BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
Most don't watch Senate "trial," say it's divisive
By Mike Huckabee
Die-hard Democrat leaders and other political enemies of former President Trump might want to put him on trial, but most Americans do not.
Most don’t care to watch it. According to a new Rasmussen poll, just 15 percent of likely voters –- repeat, likely voters –- planned to watch the whole impeachment “trial.” Most did say they would check in from time to time. But 32 percent said they would not watch ANY of it.
Only 31 percent thought that Trump would likely be convicted. Another 64 percent said a conviction was unlikely or definitely would not happen.
Even a majority of the “politically unaffiliated” (independents), 54 percent, said Trump SHOULD not be convicted. Among Republicans, that number is 81 percent.
And so much for President Biden’s favorite word, “unity.” According to an earlier Rasmussen poll, 57 percent of likely voters said that just having the “trial” –- yes, we’re still using quotation marks around that word here, as it’s not really a trial –- will lead to more division. (They are right.) Among Republicans, that number is 83 percent, which is even bigger than Trump’s current base of support, according to the WASHINGTON EXAMINER.
This is in spite of the frenzy from the media, who are completely off their collective rocker. They’re trying desperately to whip up the Capitol Hill incident into a manifestation of widespread domestic terrorism within the Trump ranks. In particular, at CNN they are out of their freaking minds, with Anderson Cooper talking about Trump supporters “other-izing” people who aren’t like them, even making comparisons to genocidal Hutus in Rwanda who called the Tutsis “cockroaches” before killing them. I am not kidding.
Tucker Carlson mentioned this as well in the opening to his Wednesday show, also explaining how wrong the media are getting the real story of how the Capitol riot got started. They’ve lied about how the casualties occurred, too. Major unanswered questions remain, even as the Senate “tries” Trump for “inciting” it.
If the current mass hysteria were a square dance, some producer from CNN would be calling it. These people are psychotic. Someone should tell the men in the little white coats to come and take them awaaaaaaay!!!
Ironically, the “other-izing” here is being done by Anderson Cooper. To him, we are the cockroaches.
Yesterday, I mentioned that Trump’s attorneys, who have gotten some bad reviews for their arguments on Tuesday, are actually last-minute fill-ins for his previous attorneys whose law firm was bullied into dropping Trump’s case. Recall that Jonathan Turley has expressed dismay at others in his profession who try to prevent the former President from exercising his right to legal representation. It’s become difficult for Trump to hire the caliber of attorneys he needs. John Hinderaker, president of the Center of the American Experiment, spoke with Mark Steyn on FOX NEWS Wednesday evening about this.
"That was the worst opening statement I have ever heard, yesterday,” Steyn said, “and I tell you, I would’ve fired that guy [Bruce Castor] in the corridor ten minutes afterwards.”
Hinderaker did say that Trump has at times had “bad taste in lawyers.” But he said the real story is that “major law firms and high-profile lawyers don’t dare represent Donald Trump. We have seen this over and over again. He has hired top-notch law firms...and they wind up having to put out a public statement saying, ‘No, we don’t represent Donald Trump’...one firm after another." He told the story of a good friend of his, a senior partner at a respected global firm, who did a “tiny” amount of “volunteer” work for Trump after the election, it got out, and “the left launched a massive attack on her law firm, and the law firm’s clients.” (!!)
They were trying to put this huge, prestigious law firm out of business because one of the partners had committed a mortal sin. She decided that, for the sake of her partners, she had no choice but to leave the firm!
He added that the governor of Michigan, Democrat Gretchen Whitmer, has tried to get the lawyers who represented Trump in that state disbarred.
So, according to Hinderaker, the “two or three lawyers” who are representing Trump now “have been on the case for a week or less.” He thought the brief that they’d prepared “was not bad...perfectly adequate.”
They did have a laugh over Hinderaker’s observation that no matter how lacking Trump’s defense might be, “that lawyer is gonna win this case.” A month from now, that lawyer will say, “I won the biggest case in my life, rather easily, when the Senate voted.”
Obviously, Hinderaker is with the majority of those polled who believe Trump will not be convicted. He called it “an exercise in futility.” Of course, he said, that’s because “45 senators have already voted that they don’t think they have jurisdiction.”
He said Democrats don’t want to focus now on their own administration. “They’re obsessed with continuing to hate Donald Trump as they’ve been doing for the last four years. I find that just astonishing.”
I can imagine them watching the "trial" video over and over for the rest of their lives, remembering the good old days of Trump-hate. Of course, that much hate has repercussions. In a stunning poll from Zogby Analytics, based on a sample of 873 likely voters from around the country, 46 percent believe civil war is likely, while 43 percent believe it isn’t.
Among Republicans, the split was 49 percent likely to 40 percent unlikely. Among Democrats, the split was 45 percent likely to 44 percent unlikely. Among independents, it was 42 percent likely and 44 percent unlikely. So all groups were split somewhat similarly.
Perhaps surprisingly, whites were less likely to see civil war ahead than Hispanics and blacks. Among Hispanics, the split was 53 percent likely vs. 43 percent unlikely. Among blacks, it was 49 to 39 percent. For whites, 43 percent vs. 44 percent. Given that the margin of error is plus-or-minus 3.3 percentage points, this is essentially an even split.
There were regional differences as well. Respondents in the East were much less likely to anticipate civil war (39 percent yes, 44 percent no) than, say, those in the South (49 percent yes, 39 percent no).
People who live in large cities were much more likely to think we’ll have one than those in the suburbs. More details at the link. Obviously, all the pushing, lying, name-calling, tweet-censoring, statue-toppling, power-grabbing and boot-heel grinding by the left is having its effect. Indeed, they seem to be deliberately goading conservatives into striking back, so they'll have an excuse to crack down even more. Don't be foolish enough to take that bait.

“The Party of Science!” Part 1
By Mike Huckabee
While President Biden expects Americans to remain huddled in their homes indefinitely to avoid spreading the coronavirus, he’s ending construction of the border wall and also doing away with President Trump’s border security measures that keep asylum seekers outside the US while their cases are being considered. He’s going back to the disastrous Obama-era “catch and release” (inside the US) program, except with one big difference: these days, all those Central American migrants who will be streaming across the border and getting released into the US if they are caught just might be carrying COVID-19.
Understandably, this has border towns rather worried about their people’s health (not to mention Biden’s mental health.) They still don’t have enough vaccines for their own people, and they may soon be inundated with migrants who may be carrying the virus, or at the very least, aren’t vaccinated and could catch it and need medical care, or spread it.
Maybe if we’re lucky, they’ll be carrying that special strain of COVID that BLM protesters have, the one that doesn’t spread as long as they’re doing something Democrats approve of.
“The Party of Science!” Part 2
By Mike Huckabee
In his zeal to undo everything the eeeeeevil Trump did, no matter how much it helped Americans, President Biden canceled the Keystone Pipeline project. This angered Canada, will kill up to 11,000 union jobs, and could lead to higher fuel prices for everyone.
But since he did it to appease the Democrats’ environmental lobby, then all that pain must be worth it to halt the damage the pipeline would have caused to the environment, right? After all, his campaign website claims that he will get the US to a 100% clean energy economy with net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, and this must be part of it. Well, about that…
The oil still has to get from Canada to the refineries on the Gulf Coast somehow, and if it doesn’t flow through a pipe, it will have to be transported by train. According to an analysis by the group Energy Equipment & Infrastructure Alliance, moving the same amount of oil that the pipeline would have moved will take 645 loaded tank cars a day moved by diesel trains, which will then have to return to Canada to be reloaded.
That will require burning 136 million gallons of diesel fuel a year, which will churn out over 1.5 million tons of CO2, the equivalent of adding about 490,000 new cars to the roads. That’s all a net CO2 addition, because the Pipeline would have generated no CO2 emissions.
This doesn’t even take into account the added risk to the environment from leaks and train derailments. Moving it by truck or ship would be even riskier. Maybe John Kerry could take the oil with him on his many private jet trips.
So killing the Pipeline not only angers Canada, throws Americans out of work and makes fuel more expensive, it will also be considerably worse for the environment and contribute heavily to the alleged “climate crisis” that Biden claims is his #1 priority.
That leaves only one reason for doing this, unless it’s payback to Warren Buffett, who profits off of trains: it’s the opposite of what Trump did, so it must be good, right? In fact, his radical environmentalist supporters think it’s only a start; they want to shut down all oil pipelines to “save the environment.”
Science!
If there are any responsible adults still remaining in the high levels of the Democratic Party, they need to intervene and take Biden’s executive order pen away from him, the same way families sometimes have to admit that it’s time to take grandpa’s car keys away before he hurts any more people
"Comedy"
By Mike Huckabee
Since I know you have not been watching, Joe Concha at The Hill did the dirty work for you and watched some recent episodes of what passes for late night “comedy” shows nowadays.
Having turned themselves into nothing but Trump-bashing fests for four years, the hosts no longer have Trump to kick around anymore, and their desperation is obvious. They seem to have gone so long without actually being funny that they don’t even remember how anymore. All they had to do was insult Trump in sentence structures that vaguely resembled a joke and their studio audiences would cheer and applaud (a phenomenon dubbed “clapter,” because it’s not real laughter.) Now, they no longer have Trump, and they’ve driven away all their viewers except leftists who rush to Twitter to cancel anyone who tells a joke about anything other than Trump.
They seem to have practically given up even trying to be funny. With the virus having shut down movies and concerts, so celebrities have nothing to promote, they’ve been reduced to acting as tedious sycophants and mouthpieces for whatever leftist politicians they can book. Honestly, would you stay up after midnight to hear Seth Meyers’ impassioned defense of Ilhan Omar’s rationality? (I know, it is a hilarious premise, but trust me, he did nothing funny with it.)
Late night is dead for the foreseeable future, until some network hires a comedian who is brave enough to be funny and not care about the cancel culture crowd, and that network stands behind him or her. So, dead for the foreseeable future.
However, if you want to see a really entertaining variety show that’s not hard-left, with intelligent and funny commentary on the news, and you don’t have to stay up late for it, I know of one that’s on TBN every weekend…
I could never be a leftist
By Mike Huckabee
Stephen Kruiser at PJ Media observes that the “impeachment” case against President Trump is typical of most leftist dogma: it requires them to gin up lie and lie and somehow convince themselves (and people who don’t pay much attention) that it’s the truth.
For instance, I criticized President Trump’s rhetoric myself, but I can’t bamboozle myself into believing that he gave a speech that “incited” a riot that authorities now suspect was being planned up to two months before he gave the speech.
Besides, we used to have this archaic notion that people are responsible for their own behavior and you can’t blame it on someone else’s free speech. “Incitement” is a legal term with a very specific and rigorously limited definition, and rightly so. Under the Democrats’ definition, the Beatles would’ve been arrested for the Manson murders.
Kruiser goes on to point out that since they know Trump isn’t really guilty of inciting the Capitol violence with his January 6th speech, they’re broadening their approach by claiming his rhetoric created a general atmosphere of rebellion that they’re trying to link to other attacks on Biden supporters. The problem with that is that I could list at least a thousand leftist attacks on conservatives for every alleged conservative attack on leftists. And as Kruiser notes, the one they chose to trumpet was also a false media narrative that they’ve talked themselves into believing.
This is why I say I could never be a leftist. It requires you to believe at least 10 impossible things before breakfast every day.
In a similar vein, as a member of the military, Kurt Schlichter was present at real insurrections, and he’s had his fill of listening to the Democrats’ “cynical performance art” as they hysterically paint what happened at the Capitol on January 6th as an attempt to overthrow the government and use that to blame, silence and marginalize all Trump voters.
As he reminds us, these are the same people whose base spent six months burning our cities and attacking cops and federal buildings as they defended, excused and bailed them out; and four years “resisting” the President and declaring the 2016 election stolen and illegitimate. That was called “patriotic” and “peaceful protest” when they did it and condoned it. Now that they’re in charge, suddenly any protest of their reign is treason and insurrection.
As always, Schlichter is both blunt and hilarious. And his observation that “you are not downplaying what actually happened by characterizing it accurately” should be hung on the walls all over CNN and MSNBC. If for no other reason than to remind them that it's actually possible to report on political news accurately.

President Biden Meet Mindy Seyler
By Mike Huckabee
President Biden, I’d like you to meet someone from my home state of Arkansas who will have to deal with your inexplicable decision to kill the Keystone Pipeline project. Multiply her story by 11,000, and then tell me how much your Administration cares about working Americans.
Correction: YouTube boots LifeSiteNews (link included)
By Mike Huckabee
In one of the most outrageous assaults yet by Big Tech on freedom of speech, Google-owned YouTube has permanently banned the LifeSiteNews channel, the video arm of the pro-life news website, which had over 300,000 subscribers. They also removed all of the many videos they had posted.
It’s not clear yet why YouTube completely wiped the site's channel. Speculation is that it may be because of the site’s coverage of vaccines, but they aren’t anti-vaxxers. From what I’ve seen, they’ve mostly just covered debates on the legality of mandated vaccines and the morality of vaccines created using aborted fetal cells. LifeSiteNews covers the news from a traditional Judeo-Christian perspective. Is that what got it banned?
Fortunately, all the videos were backed up, and LifeSiteNews is working to build up its alternative outlets on platforms such as Rumble. If you are a subscriber to their YouTube channel and wonder where they went – or if you want to send a message about free speech to Google and YouTube – you can learn where to find them at their new locations at this link.
