"Huckabee" Preview
Join me tonight for a brand new episode of “Huckabee” on TBN! I’ll talk about the fast-approaching midterm elections with North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson and commentator and former Trump Treasury official Monica Crowley. Rabbi Jason Sobel will tell us about his great new TBN series, “Mysteries of the Messiah.” We’ll also have plenty of laughs with comedian Chad Thornsberry and the goofy news on “In Case You Missed It.” And to cap it all, a song from one of the most popular singers in Christian music, TAYA!
It all airs at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, and Sunday at 9 EST/8 CST on TBN. Sending prayers
I hope you will join me in praying for the rescue of coal miners following a deadly explosion in Amasra, Turkey. At least 40 miners are reported dead, and at this writing, rescuers have been working for about 20 hours to try to free dozens more trapped underground. More details at the link.

It’s a tragic reminder that the easy lives of city dwellers remain dependent on the hard and dangerous work of people in the energy industry. The electricity that charges their laptops and EVs doesn’t flow from unicorns and wishful thinking, it mostly comes from power plants run on coal and petroleum.
Trump wants to testify
The House January 6th Kangaroo Kommittee thinks it scored a political theater hit by voting unanimously to subpoena former President Trump on its likely last day in existence. But Trump has said he wants to testify. He wants to give them an earful about all the things they adamantly refused to examine.
They might think they dodged giving him a platform, but an incoming GOP Congress could form a new, genuine investigating committee, with due process rights and everything. Trump could testify to that one, and boy, does he have plenty to say. In fact, Friday, he released an open letter to the Kangaroo Kommittee, telling them what he plans to say and listing in detail a number of 2020 election anomalies that they studiously ignored. Here’s the full statement, and I know you’ll want to read it, right to the end.
Now, we know why they waited months, until the very last minute, to subpoena him to testify, then fled town.
Walker surprises Warnock
Friday, Georgia Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and Republican challenger Hershel Walker finally held their long-awaited debate. Here’s a write-up of it from Fox News that includes background on some of the topics and accusations that were touched on.
But for a less “fair and balanced” view, here’s Bonchie at Redstate.com, relaying how Walker shocked many viewers by going after Warnock quite effectively and maybe even winning that debate.
Of course, this would be a shock only to people who get all their news from media outlets that routinely depict Democrats, even the most incompetent, far-left nutjobs, as the accepted standard of mainstream views, and all Republicans as extremist dimwits who can barely form a sentence. Like several other debates so far this season, this narrative of “shock that the Republican did so well” is a perfect illustration of what I’ve always said: media bias weakens Democrats in the long run.
The fawning, kid gloves treatment they’re used to receiving leads them to believe they’re superior beings who are so correct about every issue that nobody could possibly have any legitimate objections to their views. They never really have to defend those views. So when they get into a debate with an intelligent, articulate conservative armed with facts and attack points, they freeze like a deer in the headlights.
If I wanted to help them (spoiler alert: I don’t), I’d tell them to stop underestimating their opponents and try to come up with convincing defenses of their policies – granted, this won’t be easy because their policies are a dumpster fire of horrendous failure. They might also read Mark Twain’s “The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg,” with its message that a boast of incorruptibility that’s never tested is a very fragile thing.
Bonchie on Biden
Speaking of Bonchie, one of my favorite writers at Redstate.com, here’s his write-up of President Biden’s daily baffling comments from Friday.
Among them was this: “There’s not a single, solitary Biden man that is as old, uh, younger than any Biden woman.” That caused more head scratching than a lice epidemic.
Biden also boasted of passing the “Inflation Reduction Act,” one day after we learned that inflation is going back up. He even attempted to join in the latest desperate attempt to stop the red wave, the Dems’ ludicrous claims that if the GOP wins Congress, they’ll “sabotage” the US economy to help elect a Republican President in 2024.
First of all, they wouldn’t do that to their fellow Americans. Secondly, there’s no reason, since the Democrats have already sabotaged the economy so thoroughly. What more could they possibly do to it, make the rubble bounce?
Even in trying to sell this blatant whopper, Biden demonstrated his incompetence, putting it this way: “If Republicans take control, the prices are going to go up.” Uh, a bit late to put that horse back in the barn.
Nice job, launching a transparently false attack on your opponents that reminds your audience of your own biggest failing. What’s next, accusing Republicans of raising kids who grow up to be crack-smoking influence-peddlers?
I JUST WANTED TO SAY:
