DAILY BIBLE VERSE
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:1
Biden is coming for your light bulbs
Having already come for our cars, washing machines, dishwashers, air conditioners, gas stoves and water heaters, what is left in our homes for the “climate change” hysterics in the Biden Administration to take away? How about the light bulbs? They're like the Grinch, taking everything, even the last can of Who Hash.
Starting today, the Department of Energy will begin enforcing a ban on making or selling incandescent or other halogen light bulbs. Manufacturers and retailers must replace these popular bulbs with LED alternatives or face stiff federal penalties. This new regulation has been rolling toward us for months, and now it’s here.
As always, Biden officials are pitching this as a big favor for consumers, whom they claim will save money on electricity over the long run. Yes, all these efforts to force us to buy new, more expensive, less effective appliances promise to eventually “pay for themselves.” In the meantime, they’ll cost us a ton of money and greatly reduce consumer choice, while putting even more strain on the budgets of lower income Americans who are already being wrung dry by Bidenflation.
Congressional Republicans are urging the states to fight back against the regulations. Kentucky Rep. Andy Barr said, "President Biden continues to push liberal fantasies through his weaponized federal agencies. The Department of Energy should be focused on American energy independence, not on what light bulbs you can or can’t purchase for your home or business." And Virginia Rep. Bob Good summed it up perfectly: "It’s impossible for Democrats to leave us alone.”
Personally, I suspect this Administration hates incandescent light bulbs because they are the symbol of having a good idea, and that’s something that’s never happened to them.
NYC is doing some rethinking
The “sanctuary city” of New York might be rethinking that bit of empty virtue-signaling by now, as its streets are crowded with hundreds of illegal migrants, thanks to President Biden destroying our border security. Last week, there was a large protest in Queens against a plan to build a tent city there to house 1,000 migrants. Now, even 54 local Democrat politicians have signed a letter to Biden, urging him to declare a “state of emergency” in New York City due to the unprecedented flood of illegal immigrants.
Funny how they had zero sympathy for border states like Texas when they were flooded with illegal immigrants thanks to Biden. They called officials who protested that "racists." But once Gov. Abbott sent a miniscule fraction of them to New York City, NOW it’s an “emergency.”
And by the way, it’s not just people that are flooding across our border.
Well, don’t expect any relief from Biden. He thinks his border policies are working brilliantly. He’s a one-man national emergency, and it won’t end until he and everyone around him are out of the White House.
Speaking of one-man Democrat emergencies, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is making sure the state will have enough police to deal with the rampant crime – by signing a law allowing illegal aliens to police Americans.
I guess they’ll need all the cops they can get. They keep making it harder for law-abiding citizens to own guns while making it easier to be a criminal. Recently, the state Supreme Court upheld a law making Illinois the first state to eliminate cash bail, the disastrous policy of Soros-funded DA’s that has made our blue cities unlivable war zones. Apparently, Chicago didn’t have enough criminals running around loose in the streets already.
Obviously related: Both the Census and other measurements show that deep-blue Illinois has lost population for a record-setting nine years, and was one of only three states to have a six-digit net loss of residents last year (over 141,000.)
https://patch.com/illinois/across-il/more-141-000-people-moved-out-illinois-2022-census-bureau
Gov. Pritzker claims that the Census Bureau is wrong and Illinois is gaining population. I think it might be long past time for the Democratic Party to change its official song from “Happy Days Are Here Again” (since they definitely aren’t) to “Wishing Will Make It So.” That also fits their views on gender.
Repulsive behavior
After a lifetime in politics, I get that it can be a brutal business and you have to develop a thick skin to deal with the vicious partisan attacks. But those should be aimed at the politicians themselves. When you take to social media and say nasty, mean things about a little girl just because she was excited about meeting former President Trump and he wrote “Hi!” on her hand, then it’s time to take a long, hard look in the mirror, do some praying, and search your soul to answer the question, “How did I become something so repulsive?”
Kudos
Kudos to Rep. Mike Johnson for pointing out that Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee was pushing the Democrats’ line that minors should be allowed to get permanently life-altering gender treatments after she’d previously argued against tough sentences for young criminals because "the brain doesn't fully mature until at least 25-years-old.”
Her laughable attempt to self-righteously explain why those two situations are totally, totally different might convince you that her brain hasn’t fully matured yet.
Bidenomics: Inflation and rising gas prices
Whoever is handling marketing for the Biden reelection campaign must’ve looked at Bud Light and said, “Hold muh beer!” They live in such a bubble of insulation from reality that they assumed it would be a great idea to brand what’s happened to the economy since Biden took office as “Bidenomics,” but it’s backfiring bigly. It’s been like giving a name to a disease that everyone dreaded but wasn’t sure what to call it until now.
According to a brutal new poll by CBS (hardly a right-wing outlet), Biden’s overall approval is 40% (the lowest of his presidency in this poll), but his approval on handling the economy is a wretched 34%. I don’t know who the 34% are who are prospering in Biden’s economy, but I’d hate to think there are that many drug dealers, shoplifters and human traffickers. Maybe it also includes all the “green” crony companies and DEI grifters who are being showered with taxpayer money.
Biden keeps boasting about the low unemployment and crowing about “creating” millions of jobs, when they are mostly a combination of preexisting jobs people returned to after the pandemic lockdowns finally ended and jobs created in red states that did the opposite of what he wanted, even if they had to take him to court to do it. But even CBS admitted that having a job doesn’t protect you from inflation (or to use a good branded term, Bidenflation):
“Most of those working say their pay is not keeping pace with rising prices. And even if the rate of inflation is slowing, those price hikes have clearly left their mark.” (Well, that’s because 3% yearly inflation now is not only still high, but it’s 3% more piled on top of 9% more than the year before, and so on.)
Inflation is not going to be helped by rising gas prices, thanks to us once again being at the mercy of OPEC due to Biden’s war on the domestic fossil fuel industry. And he can’t pump more oil out of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to artificially lower gas prices again because thanks to him, that’s now at historic low levels.
As Western Journal reports, “Of 2,181 polled, 35 percent said they were falling financially behind, 52 percent said they were staying in place, while only 13 percent said they were ‘getting ahead.‘” (See the list of growth occupations above)…”Sixty-five percent rated the economy as ‘bad,’ versus only 29 percent who called it ‘good.’ And 70 percent said their work income wasn’t keeping up with inflation as opposed to 30 percent who said it was.”
If voters really do vote on their pocketbooks and not based on how many times the Dems call their opponents racists and promise to protect killing babies in the womb and disfiguring minors with gender surgery, then “Bidenomics” might prove to be even more toxic politically than it is economically.
No limits
There seem to be no limits to how far Democrats will go to indulge the delusions of anyone who claims to be “trans,” no matter how much it hurts women and children. Here is a round-up of just a few stories that have all come in just over the past few days:
Jason Michael Hann was on death row at California’s San Quentin Prison for murdering his two infant children when he declared that he “identifies” as a woman and changed his name to Jessica Marie Hann. Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order suspending the death penalty and staying all executions, and Hann was moved to the general population of a women’s prison. To add insult to insanity, taxpayers will now be given the bill for providing him with breast augmentation surgery. Female inmates who need breast reduction surgery to ease pain are told that it's cosmetic and rejected.
Former “trans” activist Dana Rivers was convicted of murdering a lesbian couple and their son, and because he “identifies” as a woman, is now sharing a cell with several women at the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla. They complain that he “ogles them, speaks demeaningly to them, and demands they push him around in his wheelchair…He is trying to control the women, saying he gets to bypass everything—special treatment.” One inmate who complained about him staring at her lost her job. She says she feels betrayed by prison officials who punish the women if they protest at being housed with male predators.
And then there’s Barry a.k.a. "Stacie Marie" Laughton, who was celebrated by Democrats as the first openly transgender-identifying person to be elected to a state legislature (New Hampshire.) Laughton is now facing federal charges of sexually exploiting children (three-year-old toddlers – warning, the linked story contains very disturbing details.) But in its official press release, the Biden DOJ bends over backwards to call this alleged sick sexual predator “she” and insists that Laughton is a woman (take a look at the photo of the sweet, dainty flower and see what you think.)
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/miacathell/2023/07/27/stacie-laughton-federal-charges-n2626092
Laughton is facing up to 30 years in prison, which I’m sure will be a women’s prison, where he will likely terrorize his fellow inmates.
Incarcerated women’s advocate Amie Ichikawa told Reduxx, “Women in prison are now in an environment completely void of the opportunity to rehabilitate. They are in a state of constant hyper-vigilance and the long-term effects have resulted in mass CPTSD symptoms. They are quietly watching themselves being erased while men, who have penises, get facial feminization surgeries, laser hair removal, Adam's apple reductions … all paid for with your tax dollars.”
She added, “The things that go on when the doors lock and the lights go out are unspeakable and most of these women are so ashamed, they may never be in a mental state to share these government-funded atrocities.”
The big question is, how much longer are women going to keep supporting the Democratic Party when it has sold them out to a tiny, radical minority that is systematically erasing women’s rights and placing them in physical danger, from (formerly) women’s prisons to (formerly) women’s bathrooms and locker rooms?
A Huck’s Hero Salute
A big Huck’s Hero salute to country singer Craig Morgan. At age 59, after already serving 17 years in the Army and Army Reserve and traveling the world entertaining our troops, he could certainly feel that he had more than done his patriotic duty and just enjoy his music success. But concerned about low enlistment rates, he said he wants to serve his country and encourage others “to be a part of something greater than ourselves.”
So he reenlisted. On Saturday, Morgan stood on stage at the Grand Ole Opry and was sworn back into the Army Reserve, where he will serve as a staff sergeant and warrant officer.
This is a truly well-earned and appropriate salute. Click the link to learn more and see some terrific photos and video of Morgan’s reentry ceremony into the Army Reserves.

Here’s another of those “good guy with a gun” stories that the media ignore then claim don’t exist:
In Philadelphia, two thugs carjacked, robbed and threatened a pizza delivery man. He finally got far enough away from them that he was able to pull out his concealed weapon. He’s safe, but one of the robbers ran away while the other had to go into surgery to have a slug removed from his rear end.
Yes, Joe Biden sold access to himself in “stream of services” bribery scheme
Until yesterday, California Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell were the two Democrat stalwarts who could be counted on by their party to come before the microphones and say ANYTHING, no matter how outrageously false and easily debunked it might be. Schiff’s lying was so egregious that he was kicked off the House Intelligence Committee.
Now, a third Democrat politician enters the top tier of the Hall of Shame.
From now on, whenever you see New York Rep. Dan Goldman trotted out to spoon-feed you the talking points the Democrats want you to swallow, just know in advance that he’s a buffoon and whatever he says is a lie. Goldman will go down in history for his whoppers, vying with Schiff and Swalwell for the title of biggest political hack of them all.
This became clear after Hunter Biden’s former business partner Devon Archer sat for a four-hour transcribed interview with the House Oversight and Accountability Committee on Monday. The interview took place behind closed doors, but Goldman was first up to tell the world that it’s nothing and to move on.
I was going to say that Goldman needs to just stop insulting our intelligence, but law professor Jonathan Turley beat me to it. “If this (Archer’s testimony] is true,” he said Monday, “then Biden has lied. He lied during the presidential debate, he’s lied for years, and he’s had staff at the White House lie. We clearly have corruption here, I don’t think there is any doubt about that, but you have to find out exactly what was sold and what was delivered. We now know the President played an active role in boosting this brand.”
“…You can no longer ignore this, despite the denials of many Democrats,” Turley continued. What was really incredible was that after hearing these statements, Rep. Goldman came out and basically said he [Joe Biden] was being a dad talking about niceties. At some point, it insults the intelligence of voters. We’re looking at one of the most significant corruption scandals in our history.”
Read the transcript of the conversation between Turley and FOX NEWS’ Larry Kudlow about “the brand.” The brand was “influence and access to him [theVP], Turley said “and the way you sell it is to have him pop into meetings and dinners showing ‘I’m a phone call away, so you can ink that deal with my son.’”
What the Bidens were selling is just so obvious now. As for the transcript of the interview with Archer, Turley thinks it will be available in a couple of days. And even with all the pressure to “move on,” Turley says that “of course you can’t move on away from this. You have to find out what it is.”
Turley made similar observations with FOX NEWS’ Neil Cavuto on Monday. The people Biden was interacting with were “some of the most corrupt figures in Europe,” he said. Yes, someone as shameless as Goldman can maintain that Biden just talked about “the weather” and didn’t even really know who they were. That’s not credible, but we would add that even if it were true, the question would then be, “Why in blazes DIDN’T he know?? He was the Vice President of the United States, for crying out loud, and he was lending his title and influence to a meeting of international businessmen he couldn’t vouch for or perhaps even identify? No, it seems the most forgiving interpretation of Archer’s testimony is that the VP was just giving himself some measure of plausible deniability while his son did the dirty work and raked in the cash.
If you know people who don’t quite get how the President fits into this scandal, or who watch mainstream news and mistakenly believe there’s “not a shred of evidence” against him, let Prof. Turley set them straight…
“Rep. Goldman made it sound like he was calling his son’s soccer team,” Turley said. “These were almost two dozen calls with these corrupt business figures from Ukraine, Russia and China. And the Vice President called to show that he was part of the brand. Now, look, you can deny most anything, but the American people are not being fooled; polls really indicate that. They show this for what it is. I mean, it IS corruption.”
It “strains credulity,” Turley said, that Biden wasn’t aware of the role he was playing. Turley is astonished that, at a time when we must find answers, someone like Goldman says we need to move on and call it a day. “We have the close friend of the President’s son saying that he was part of selling an influence-peddling brand.” This isn’t what people would think is the time to “take a powder.”
Turley said, “I think this is shaping up to be one of the greatest corruption scandals in the history of Washington, and that is saying a lot.”
But so-called mainstream media found Dan Goldman’s assessment of the hearing so convenient that they preferred to lead with it. Someone with no background would look at the first few paragraphs from REUTERS and think there was no evidence against Joe Biden at all, because “a Democratic lawmaker” said so. And that’s the idea...
For the real story, go to REDSTATE instead.
And where better to get the real details of anything related to Hunter Biden than the NEW YORK POST?
https://nypost.com/2023/07/31/ex-hunter-biden-partner-devon-archer-arrives-for-house-deposition/
One important observation in the POST, from former head of the FBI Criminal Division Chris Swecker: “...We saw this quite a bit in bribery cases. It’s called ‘stream of services.’ You sell access to something of value and you get something back in return, but it’s not an express quid pro quo. It’s just an understanding, but if you can match up the services within a reasonable time with the thing of benefit --- in this case, $10 million, or whatever it is --- then you have bribery.”
In other words, the access itself is what they were selling. They get the VP on the phone, showing that there is access. Then, for example, “you match it up with the prosecutor [Victor Slokin] getting fired. The prosecutor is going after Burisma right within that same timeframe. Boy, you’re really close to a slam dunk, in my opinion.”
The U.K. DAILY MAIL outlines quite a lot of evidence of Biden corruption, separate from any Devon Archer testimony. For example, a whistleblower confirmed to them last November that then-VP Biden had been on the phone in a discussion of a Latin American online gambling business. Biden was not passive, he said, but “talking about it. If I had to describe him, he was like a member of the Board of Directors.” Lots of interesting details --- this story will jet you all around the world --- for when you have time.
RELATED: Going back to last week and the disaster surrounding Hunter’s aborted plea deal on Wednesday, legal analyst Margot Cleveland has noticed something disturbing about Hunter’s answer to Judge Maryellen Noreika on one point. Patrick Ho of CEFC paid $1 million to Owasco LLC, which Hunter told the judge was for “legal services.” When the judge asked how, Hunter said, “I think Owasco PC acted as a law entity, yeah. I believe that’s the case, but I don’t know that for a fact.”
He doesn’t know that for a fact?? Well, he had to say that not to be charged with perjury. “Overwhelming evidence,” Cleveland says, “indicates that was a lie and that the money, at best, represented payment for influence peddling and, at worst, was a bribe.”
Read Cleveland’s column to see the circuitous route the $1 million payment took to get to Hunter. Ho didn’t pay either Owasco PC or Owasco LLC. He paid yet another firm called Hudson West III LLC, which had no involvement with Ho’s case. And Hunter was doing no lawyering. Over the next six months, Hunter spent the money “on personal expenses, including large cash withdrawals, transfers to his personal account, travel, and [shall-we-say] entertainment.” Hookers and coke?
Since the idea that Ho paid the $1 million for “legal services” is included in Hunter’s Statement of Facts presented last week, Cleveland says Congress should file a brief detailing the evidence that disproves that. Otherwise, by maintaining this lie, the defense is committing a fraud on the court. Cleveland can explain it better than we can…
Oh, and speaking of Hunter and lawyering, he actually misled the court last week about being certified to practice law in Connecticut. Records show he was suspended from practicing law in Connecticut two years ago. He didn’t even keep up his annual $75 fee. Who would want a lawyer that slipshod?
And according to REDSTATE, the House Judiciary, Oversight and Accountability, and Ways and Means Committees will be working through the August recess to find out just how Hunter’s defense team and the ‘Justice’ Department colluded on that one-of-a-kind sweetheart plea deal they tried to slip past Judge Noreika. They’ve launched an official inquiry and have a list of specific questions. I can’t wait to hear their answers myself.
