It’s hard even to know where to start in addressing the atrocity that happened last week and the growing exploitation of it by the left. I’ve made my position clear on the use of violence, whether it comes from the left, as it usually does, or the right, as it did this time. It’s all bad, and we have condemned it totally, unlike those on the left who have selectively excused it in the fulfillment of their ideology.

First, I’d recommend you watch the monologue from Mark Levin on Sunday’s LIFE, LIBERTY & LEVIN. It treads some of the same ground we’ve gone over in the past several days, including much of what the left has been doing to change the culture and normalize violence from their side, but Levin expresses it very well.

As he reminds us, the media dismissed it when people who attended a Trump event were assaulted during their long walk from the White House grounds to their transportation home. Sen. Rand Paul, to name one, was attacked. (He’s actually been attacked twice, if you count the one earlier at his home.) There was also the rioting in Lafayette Park in which historic monuments were defaced and toppled and scores of Secret Service agents were injured. When Speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked about the horrendous vandalism by unhinged leftists, she said that “people will do what they do.”

She and her cohorts casually dismissed an ATTACK ON WASHINGTON, but the media let it go. They were saving their venom for their preferred target, and last Wednesday they finally got their chance to bite.

We’ve showed over and over how the media ignored violence from the left. If you weren’t watching a conservative-leaning site, you didn’t see it, because most news outlets didn’t cover it. This went on for months as entire city blocks were occupied, looted and burned. Reporters defended the destruction and called it "largely peaceful." Then-candidate Joe Biden wouldn’t speak out against it; neither would then-running mate Kamala Harris. Only much later, when polls showed public sentiment turning against them, did Democrats say anything about it, and even then their comments were perfunctory. Meanwhile, the Democrat-controlled media had for years been mocking Trump supporters as an inferior species and condemning them as “neo-Nazis.” Actually it WAS the Nazis who spoke of other people such as Jews as “sub-human, rats, and vermin.” I find no instance of Trump supporters speaking of the opposition as “inferior people,” just people with inferior ideas.

"The media have played a huge, huge role in what’s going on in this country,” Levin said, “and they’re exploiting now what took place on Capitol Hill, trying to silence conservatives, silence Republicans, and, unfortunately, a lot of Republicans are buckling.” Democrats know good and well that we didn’t want this to happen and that we reject it totally. If anyone wanted it to happen, it’s likely the people who benefited from it; namely, the very ones on the left who are exploiting it now.

As Levin said, the headline in THE NEW YORK TIMES last Thursday was TRUMP INCITES MOB. Trump used some pretty strong language, and we are on record as having disagreed with that, but he absolutely did not act to “incite” the mob. (“Incite” is a specific legal term; I’ll get to that below.) If you don’t think the NYT folks were gleefully happy to print that headline, you are living in an alternate universe. They welcomed this story with open arms and will enjoy exploiting it in the weeks, months and years to come.

As Tammy Bruce said this weekend in an interview with Steve Hilton, the left are acting swiftly before more information can come out about what really might have happened last Wednesday, more reports on who might have showed up there specifically to initiate violence. Bruce calls them “parasitic opportunists.”

"It is not a representation of what Trump has stood for,” she said.

But the WASHINGTON POST headline was almost identical: TRUMP MOB STORMS CAPITOL. The DAILY NEWS headline was this: PREZ INCITES INSURRECTION. Again, he did not. USA TODAY put it similarly: PRO-TRUMP MOBS STORM US CAPITOL. These headlines were chosen quite deliberately to suggest Trump called for violence.

Levin contrasted these headlines with some that were more objective. The NEW YORK POST put it this way: CAPITOL INVASION. The WASHINGTON TIMES called it an ASSAULT ON DEMOCRACY. Yes, that’s better. It still strongly condemns the violence but refrains from falsely implying that Trump was behind this. It was the last thing he wanted.

On what the Democrats are doing now, Levin nailed it. “Out of one side of their mouth, they talk about unity,” he said. “Out of the other side of their mouth, they spit on people.”

Since they have only a slight majority in the House and Senate (where Kamala Harris will have to break the ties), they want to use what happened to ratchet up their extreme calls for expanding the Supreme Court to create a partisan rubber-stamp, ending the Electoral College system, adding four more Democrat states to cement power in the Senate, and completely eliminating the filibuster. To obtain these things, Democrat politicians, with coordinated help from the megalomaniacs who run social media, plan to use the Capitol Hill incident instead of the mandate from the electorate that they'd expected but DID NOT GET.

In the short term, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is using this little window of time by insisting the 25th Amendment is in play, as an alternative to the impeachment she says she’ll put forward --- nine days from Biden’s inauguration. Ah, yes, Democrats are all about healing and unity.

Here’s what legal expert Jonathan Turley had to say about the legal merits of impeaching Trump now. What Trump said certainly did not meet the standard of “inciting” violence. All this would do is further divide the nation and give one more big slap in the face to Trump supporters, which I assume is what Democrats want to do. They hope to fragment us --- that's also part of the coordinated attack on us by social media that we'll talk about --- but now is the time for us come together.

Communism is a sneaky and insidious "animal" . The magnitude of taking away our "inalienable rights" is mind boggling. I am a senior citizen and I am so very angry but even more, I am sad. Our future generations are going to be facing a government that will not include them.

    Mike,
I subscribe to your newsletter and appreciate your common sense logic on all matters. Regarding purge by social media I have experienced it on a level that I believe deserves legal/legislative review. After 48 years working in the software industry I retired last year and in retirement I invented a new dog leash design that includes a collar and leash and adjusts to fit any size or shape dog (myoneleash.com). I have donated hundreds to dog shelters and rescue groups, including 400 to Christian Veterinarian Mission. In support of the users I made a short "how to use the leash" video with my golden retriever, Soffie (my daughter filmed with her iPhone) and we posted this "how to" video on youtube (owned by Google). To my shock I got a message that my video and account had been suspended!?! I was told I had violated their policy and I could "appeal". I did so explaining that the users of my leash depended on seeing how to use it video. They denied my appeal and again referenced my violation of their policy. The issue is their policy is pages of rules and they do NOT cite what policy that they believe I had violated.. so no way to remedy. Only one appeal is allowed by them...I am at a dead end with Google/youtube and they have effectively shut down a small business enterprise that is only providing information on how to use. I see hundreds of thousands of "product demonstrations" on their platform. I have found another internet video platform (Vimeo)... but it does not have the reach of youtube.. Should Google not follow basic business practice in their enforcement of their policies, like telling a user what policy was in their view violated and how to correct? Your thoughts on this small example of how they squash small business?

    Governor,
Forgive me if I'm missed something - I've been so upset at the ability of the left to get away with grand larceny that you may have covered this. But exactly who is it that you're upset with regarding the DC violence on the 6th? And by that, which group is it that you believe is responsible?
When I first heard what was happening, the first thing I thought of was that it was a very coordinated ambush by leftists, the type that screams "Soros". We may never know (or be told) whether or not that is true - its too convenient for the MSM to blame Trump supportors.
But if you're blaming Trump supporters, why? Haven't I been reading for three and a half years about the "silent majority", and how that majority is going to sit on their hands and get run over by the left? You cannot seriously speak contemptuously about us for doing nothing, and then be sickened once we do take action. I do not know who was responsible for the mess in DC on the 6th - I wasn't there. Quite frankly, it may not matter in the end. Trump and his supporters will be to blame not matter what.
But for three and a half years, we've watched as the left and the swamp have done their best to try and bury the best president we've had in a very long time. Then, just when we thought we'd have four more years of Trump taking all of the abuse (and I say that because I wanted him re-elected more than anything I've wanted in a long time), they steal the election out from under us. And nobody with any authority seems to give a crap. How much more are supposed to take before action is warranted? Would you have stood on the sidelines and tsk tsk'd the people involved with the Boston Tea Party, because "that's not who we are"? I get the feeling that had you been in charge, we'd be under British rule right now.

Governor Huckabee, I am so upset that the media gets away with that propaganda just as the Democrats get away with everything. It’s just not fair. I’m a big girl and I know life isn’t fair. It just seems like Republicans roll over and let them get away with Everything!

I also put this on LinkedIn and believe it may be helpful for everyone to consider: If you're "woke" to only one point of view you're half alseep. If you listen to only one voice you're half deaf. If you love only those like you you, you're half alive. Become whole in 2021 - broaden your self.

If there was voter fraud, and I believe there was. Why in the H is Joe Biden going to be President? The Republicans in office need to get off their can and do something. President Trump has been about America, helping the people. The Democrats are about killing babies, destroying this country. They stand for everything bad. As a Christian we suffered through Obama. He lighted our White House up with rainbow colors. He came against our constitution HOW many times? The Republicans in office need to help our President at this time, not let this voter fraud go on. I always believed there was fraud getting Obama in office. There was fraud in Georgia for them to win the Senate. The only thing I can say is why should anyone try to vote, just go ahead and the let the Democrats have it because our vote doesn't count.

I try to be fair and balanced, but with the Democrat/Socialist agenda of destroy and silence anyone who disagrees with them it is very difficult. I sent a message to Governor Huckabee about what will be the outcome of the Media and the Democrats destructive behavior. We Americans will abide almost any stupid miss-steps by our politicians, but stealing our election rights went to far and now even the Democrat Voters are going to have to wise up and change parties in the next election or watch their children's futures self-destruct, because of the Democratic Socialist Agenda.

What can be done to me can be done to thee. What goes around comes around.
I would be much more afraid of censoring speech, forcing it to go underground to later explode than to hear things I disagree with out in the open where it can be challenged and checked out. The dark web will only be enhanced leading to an explosion worse than what we have seen. People feeling empowered most of the time push it too far. Our only concern is how much damage can they do and can it ever be reversed. I believe it was said at George Bush funeral that "hate destroyes the container that carries it". Nancy is a women scorned and many are falling into her trap. She creates a temperture greater than the President ever did.

Violence from right or left is unacceptable and it makes me sad. However, everyone ignoring the lefts violence, for months, makes me angry. Trump and his wife, have been treated poorly since day one. The liberals holier than thou attitude makes me feel violent, and I’m an old woman!

Mike, please comment on the actual timeline of when they breached the capitol. President Trump was still speaking well after the breach had taken place. According to he head of security, there was no way Trump supporters attending his speech could have gotten to the capitol to incite this . He stated that it was a 45 minute walk, the president didn't finish speaking until about 1:11 pm and the breach started sometime after 12 pm. This was set up to make Trump look bad in his last days so they could have something to impeach him! The left has shown so many times their level of corruption, I believe they did this, not Trump people.

Forgive me for writing so much, but it is my way of blowing off steam. Why does anyone think that a white small business man has an advantage when calling a bank to get a loan p, or anything else for that matter? I do not know why white men who are democrats are so willing to take the heat. I guess it must be the guilt instilled in them for being born as they are. Perhaps they can become women for enough time to get their business up and running. After all, all one needs to do is declare ones preferred gender and it must be accepted. I do hope that God has a sense of humor as these people are ludicrous. Unifiers, my old aunt Fanny. I am sure if I pointed out the hypocrisy to my liberals neighbors regarding the looting and burning they would dismiss it by saying that it was not the big since they have not seen the videos. One of their favorite dismissives is to say “that’s what they want you to think”. Still and all, my disappointment with the Trump supporters attacking the Capitol is overwhelming. I am afraid it is a sign that people have had enough and that civil unrest is in our future, if not a full out civil war. People get tired of being trashed. Indeed, I like the Olive Garden.

    Mr. Huckabee:
Why don't the elected leaders of the Republican Party explain to their voters how they can change these outcomes through other peaceful means other than through voting and money? The democrats have organized groups of people to go out into their communities to advance their ideology but nowhere have I seen or heard of the Republicans do this. I have heard and read lately about another possible movement to begin a new party such as the Tea Party did before the 2016 election. If the Republican leadership continues to sit on their hands and just complain or squeal foul, then we should just do away with the GOP and begin a new party!!! What do you say?

Mike, thank you for your integrity and for being a truth teller. I voted for President Trump, twice, although there have been many times I have rolled my eyes and asked, “why did he say that”? As a conservative it is very frustrating to support what I consider the lesser of two evils. Now I will say he has done more and worked harder than any other president in my lifetime but his narcism and arrogance has been hard to support. Is the Republican party working toward a strong, trusted, conservative to put up again Harris for the next election. I say Harris because I seriously doubt Biden will make it to the 100 day mark. We have got a lot of work to do and it needed to start years ago. Thoughts?

Hardly anyone in Congress stood up for Trump; now they're asking for money to help them win their next elections.
I know if we don't support Republicans, Dems will win even without cheating, but what good does it do? I
I contributed, I voted, but they just put whoever they want in office, and the one person in office who is fighting to make America the way it should be is hounded out of office, while evil, corrupt liars continue to be
