Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee Dreams Up Orwellian Nightmare For Gun-Owners

Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee recently introduced the Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act, the Democrats’ most radical assault yet on the Second Amendment, and that’s really saying something considering what they've proposed in the past.

The bill would not only create extremely burdensome licensing and other restrictions on all buyers or sellers of guns or ammunition, it would also create a nationwide gun registry that would gather tons of personal information on every gun owner that would be ripe for hacking and abuse. Most outrageous of all, it would mandate that gun buyers or sellers undergo a psychiatric exam and that a licensed psychologist interview the person’s spouse, ex-spouse, family members and associates to determine the “mental, emotional, and relational stability of the individual in relation to firearms.”

Let’s hope that there are enough reasonable Democrats – or that the Senate filibuster remains safe – or that the Supreme Court doesn’t get stacked with leftists – to insure this Orwellian nightmare never sees the light of day.

But if we’re going to start demanding psychiatric exams before people exercise their Constitutional rights, then how about one for anybody who’d vote to reelect Sheila Jackson Lee? Or one to determine the mental and emotional stability of leftist politicians before they’re allowed to exercise their First Amendment rights and talk in public?

    The U.N. Small Arms Treaty is a global gun control scheme, forcing the United States to mandate licenses for gun and ammo sales,while creating a new international gun registry.This registry will reveal private and sensitive information of gun owners, including the make, quantity and value of their firearms. This information will be viewable by our federal government and international bureaucrats.Foreign governments will now have access to Americans’ gun owner ship

    It is common sense to not provide potentially hostile countries access to private and sensitive information of American gun owners, but it is obvious that our rights have been thrown to the way side under the Obama administration. Registration is the first step to outright confiscation, and this treaty sets the stage for confiscation on a global level.The government has become too engrossed in encroaching the freedoms of law-abiding gun owners. Any chance they get, they try to pass initiatives that restrict and ban guns.

    The proposed ATT gave them the opportunity they had been waiting for, a legally binding treaty imposing regulation and conditions on the transfer and maybe possession of any weapon from a pistol to a battle ship. As incredible as it seems, the U.N. Human Rights Commission has already interpreted lack of gun control as a human rights abuse. The treaty is now in effect and the United States has signed it.

    Some how I just don't see SJL's constituents (inner city Houstonians) being in favor of this heavy onus on gun owners.

    Another brain dead individual who is having pipe dreams that biden won the elction. How these people get elected is beyond me. It is time to get rid of all the politicians in DC and start over with a younger class of people who have common sense. Term Limits is really necessary from now on so this crap won't happen again. We all know the election was rigged and that Trump won. Thye hate him in DC because he isn't a politician and can't be bought. Just my opinion.

    Our great TX governor is trying to do something to remind her she shouldn’t underestimate Texans. Am shamed to admit she’s from TX. Hope Houston will have woke up by the time of the 2022 election
