I’m disgusted with a small and selfish group of Republicans who probably feel they are “Spartacus” but the movie best fitting them is “The Gang Who Couldn’t Shoot Straight.”

Several of these hold-outs (I should say “hold-ups”) are friends and I supported and campaigned for many.  I won’t be in the future.  The simple of rule of politics is that you take your stand, but if you don’t have enough following to lead, then recognize that you simply didn’t sell your ideas very well.  Less than 20 GOP members of Congress are stopping 200 of their fellow Republicans from getting about the business of investigating corruption in the White House, FBI, DOJ, and in Congress itself.  Instead, without being able to articulate a specific reason for their objections, they have blocked the election of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker and in so doing making the Republicans look like a bunch of 6 year olds who refuse to play unless the majority surrenders to the tantrums of the few.

Is Kevin McCarthy perfect?  Of course not.  But he has faithfully worked to recruit candidates, help fund them, and get them elected.  The ultimate outrage is that some he helped win and raised funds for now have shown they really DO think it’s about them and not the bigger principles of the conservative movement.

Dr. E. V. Hill, longtime CA pastor used to say “If you think you’re a leader and you look behind you and no one is following, you aren’t a leader—you’re just out for a walk.”  The actions of the petulant circle of “Never-Kevins” don’t amount to enough votes to get close to winning.  But they may have enough to make sure their own team loses.  These guys are setting fire to their own hosue, but they are arsonists who didn’t even have fire insurance.  The mission is just “burn it down.”  And in so doing, empowering the very Democrats some of us worked very hard to put in the minority.

We did NOT work to blow up our own opportunity to take on the Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, and Squad team, but that’s the effect of the actions of the camera hungry Congress members who may deep down believe they are more “principled” than everyone else, but have shown a startling level of political immaturity.

If the tiny crowd of political tots can’t convince a majority of their peers to follow them off the cliff, they should have the self-awareness to admit they fired their best shot and simply missed the target.  Now it’s time to fight for the American people.  If after taking leadership, Kevin and company don’t deliver, you might be able to make a better case for lighting the fuse to the bomb to blow up the place.

I can barely believe you are as "pissed off" at these folks, calling them political "tots" and "hold ups", saying you won't support them in the future- Truth is, they accomplished more of substance in 5 days that the congress usually does in 5 months. Check out the list of concessions McCarthy was forced to agree to in order to get their vote and talk about real substance, that's it! And that's been the argument us "real folks" have had with congress and the republicans. we elect them then little to nothing ever gets done. Not any more, thanks to these "tots" who had the backbone to institute real and substantive and positive change. Have you even looked at what the concessions were? And since they were "concessions" don't you understand that they wouldn't have been done had these "tots" not forced the issue? These patriots should be getting praised by you instead of derided. I have never done this before but when your last monolog ran these people down I actually turned the TV off in disgust. I'm the guy from Wyoming who was at your show the week after we Wyomingites kicked Liz Cheney out of congress and you said you hoped your criticism of her hadn't offended me. I'm praying for you sir, your viewpoint on this matter is 180 degrees wrong. These folks are what we need in congress.

Sorry I have to write this because I'm usually in agreement with you. However, I'm disappointed with your response about the speakership voting process. Yes a small group made waves but that's what it's all about...having the freedom to voice a difference. Perhaps you and others feel disgust and that they were out of line, but our family was proud that they stood for principle. It will hold the speaker accountable. We are pleased with the concessions that were made and we believe it will make Kevin McCarthy a much better speaker because of that accountability.
It's a shame that you would not support these few members of Congress just because they decided not to go with the status quo. These are good people and they are strong conservatives. I guess that doesn't mean much to you since you decide you will not be supporting them in the future. You said they held up getting to the process of investigating corruption in the White House, etc but a few more days will not make a difference. Now it will be done whether it was held up by a few days or not.

Typically, I agree with you on most topics, and I appreciate your newsletters and views, however I have to disagree with you on the 20 Repub's who held out on the McCarthy vote and am a little put off by your description of them. The way I see it, along with many of my fellow Patriots, is that these tough 20 practiced politics the way our "framers" intended, they returned the process to that of what Jefferson intended. The power that Pelosi held in the House will not be the status quo of this new house, and that is exactly what would have happened as I believe McCarthy is sell out Republican and a mini-Pelosi in the making. These 20 have won some accountability back to the House as it relates to the Speaker, and Lord knows we needed that during the Pelosi reign. I personally applaud them for that! Your condemnation of them is a little hasty and too much CNNish for my taste.

None of us really know what backroom dealings go on in what is supposed to be the "People's House", and thankfully their actions may have put a stop to that, for awhile. The changes they negotiated for were much needed changes, changes like a new "Church Committee" to look into the weaponization of the FBI, Term Limits being put up for a vote, big Omnibus Bills no longer allowed, but rather single issues to be debated on with 72 hours to read a bill, Covid mandates and funding to cease, plus much more.

Perhaps a rethink is in order.

    Respectfully,

I am glad the 20 took a stand. I have had it with RINOs manipulating conservative like fools spouting conservative ideals only to govern as democrats. TRUMP IS THE GREATEST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY. So for the time being I will wait and see how McCarthy governs. For now the Republicans are unified under Trump.

Mike, I do not agree with your views or how you expressed them above. You didn’t need to be that condescending. It’s uncharacteristic of you except when speaking of the left. You could’ve expressed concern without disrespecting.

These men and women who decided to have a backbone and stand up for the American people and make sure things are addressed that the speaker has refused to address effectively deserve praise. To your comment that if none follow, then you’re not a leader… Perhaps that was part of the plan. If the others had followed, then the Democrat would’ve won the vote, but since the majority could hold off the Democrats winning, then the minority conservative objectors had time to make sure the conservative values would be addressed … they got concessions that the speaker needed to be pressured to concede.
My only source of news is your newsletter. I have not been able to stomach the democratic media for years. I have not followed exactly what speaker McCarthy has done to undermine President Trump or other conservative initiatives. I don’t know what democratic garbage he has supported, but it seems there’s been a fair amount to get these men and women upset, and want to take a stand to make sure it doesn’t continue.
You seem to have double down on both your language and your views on the subject, and I think you’re in the wrong this time. This is the only issue I have disagreed with you on.
The fact that Adam Schiff was upset and tweeted that McCarthy handed all his power over to conservatives should give us all the heads up that this was a good move. I pray that the Republicans will now get down to work, and actually push back the overwhelming garbage that’s been shoved upon the American people. I pray, now that they found some backbone, that they’ll actually use their position to influence and change ungodly laws and address the rampant corruption that is filling our government, the FBI and the DOJ.
I never thought in my wildest dreams that America would be abused by its own government to this degree. I thought our laws would protect us from it happening. I think the laws would have protected us if they’d been enforced. I think the corruption in the last election was beyond outrageous, and the fact that no heads have rolled is sickening. All is lost if elections are rigged.

I was becoming disgusted with the GOP holdouts also. After having seen the concessions they got, I am now impressed with them! These are things we have wanted the Washington politicians to address for years. It's about time someone took them to task for them.

I can't believe you. You sound like a Democrat. The concessions gained by this group were, for the most part, something we have been wanting for years. This is how a Republic should function. There are times I wish the GOP stood together like the Dems, but I feel we have finally won something and did not bow down to the status quo as the Dems do to Nancy Pelosi every time. McCarthy should have learned something from this, that he has been a GOP figure for quite some time and has done nothing to make a conservative feel good about him. You surprise me, and that is not a good thing.

Nothing has changed in my view of Mr. McCarthy. I still perceive him as a RINO. I do NOT expect to see any real leadership coming from him and his position as the House Majority Leader. I respect Mr. Gaetz and other 19 who initially opposed Mr. McCarthy and applaud them for their resistance to him. I do not see the problems that America has found itself submerged in as being resolved by Congress. It will require the intervention of God. It well may be that God's coming judgment cannot be reversed and America will lose its position as a superpower. Keep looking up, He is coming soon

    Thanks for your comments.
I believe that Biden will resign from the POTUS to save his own son (and himself) from further embarrassment. He will be happy as others accomplished for him his long held dream.
A lot of Candidates on the left want a POSITION, not a (sometimes) 12 hour working day. Thanks.
