“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

As an American, I am dismayed by what this nation has become. Politicians no longer represent the people but are influenced by greed and/or blackmail resulting in deep corruption and gradual loss of our freedoms. How could Americans have voted for those who support murder of full term babies and an ever increasing immoral life style? As a believer, I am frustrated by the lack of involvement by so many Christians in the political process and the felt need to be politically correct and non-offensive to unbelievers. We have sinned against God and deserve His wrath, His judgment, but I kept praying He would delay a little longer for the sake of the persecuted church who will suffer even more under a Biden administration. President Trump has kept N. Korea from firing missiles near Japan; has stood up to China to Iran to the WHO and has supported Israel. All this will be reversed and I grieve that our nation will never be the same, and people around the world who look to America......

LEO's everywhere should do some training of congressional men such as these with their sidearms pointed at opaque windows when there is no way of knowing who is on the other side. Sadly the trigger happy guard who killed the decorated military woman was sad and I'm sure his grief is high but we have had this hatred in our nation's capitol for way too long. The egregious fraudulent election will be long remembered.

I am not sure I totally follow this story and it leaves me distraught. A constitutional scholar I am not. I am however one that believes in law and order, have always carried my weight as well as that of many others and expect the same of every able bodied individual. The founders put in place checks and balances to address situations such as this and near as I can tell at every turn those checks have been corrupted. Even a low rent gambling joint watches for cheating with extreme diligence but a national election is treated with a lackadaisical impasse. A redo of the election is reasonable ( minus the BS COVID exceptions made last minute, illegally) I am done babbling but one last thought. Even the meekest of creatures will fight back when cornered. Not sure if I am wrong or not Governor but sure sounds like your caving

No one yet knows who these people really are. I certainly think it's possible they were hired by the left to make us look bad. I am totally sick and tired of hearing the MSM repeat constantly there there wasn't enough fraud to change the outcome of this election. Yet, every effort to get to the actual truth of the election is stopped by the left. The whole of the Deep State has done everything possible to keep the truth from being known. Very suspicious!

Why are you so certain that the violence was caused by real Trump supporters. Why was it so easy for them to get into the building. Looks like an inside job coordinated to cast blame on Trumpers. There are some heavy hitters involved in these fraudulent elections.

Your comments are exactly right. We cannot condone violence of this kind. While I am disgusted by the obvious fraud in the election, I believe we must set a good example in our approach to correct things. Today's actions by a few (very few) are unacceptable.

Congresswoman Michelle Bachman was there. She said it had to be paid agitators who came in, not Trump supporters! Said they had gas masks on & shields & the police seemed to let them in--she saw the police move the baracades. Get her testimony on the prayer call tonight at 8:00pm on Global Prayer for Election Integrity on Facebook, it's still there.

All reports are that Trump supporters led the violence. However, some ''uniforms'' looked a lot like BLM and Antifa. One person had photographed an Antifa person in Arizona last week and saw the same person today! And another report said the Antifa people were told to dress like Trump supporters and embed themselves as such.
The whole thing started with the stolen election, and it will take a huge helping of truth to fix it!

What happened today was horrendous, especially because it caused a death, but no matter what the people deserve to have this election confirmed, not by votes of mostly corrupt politicians but by an actual investigation as to how much fraud actually occurred. We will never be able to accept election results again (if we have more elections) without proof that it was an honest election. If it truly was honest NO ONE should object to it. We need term limits and honorable politicians.

I truly believe that the "rally" at capitol was peaceful, but I think the usually rioters came dressed as Trump supporters and they were the ones who breached the capitol and were violent. The rest of the rally people were peaceful and marched and stood around. All the video that were shown showed people just standing around, but for the mob that forced their way into the capitol. That is the way the republicans protest. If they arrested people, they should check the people that were arrested.

Once again, we cannot wait for the facts before we start bashing. Who exactly was behind the breech today? I find it hard to believe it was instigated by Patriots. As far as Pence, there is not much hope that he would stand behind Trump. I think we all knew that. Seems there is no honesty or hope left. Welcome to communist America Mr. Huckabee. Perhaps we are to blame for not standing against the corruption many years ago. We have been infiltrated by Satan and we stood quiet and did nothing. God have mercy on us.

Mike, All summer The democrats refused to condemn the the riots that cost 2 billion dollars worth of property alone PLUS loss of countless lives. Yet your “aghast” at one incursion into our Capitol. All the facts aren’t in yet and it may be that antifa was involved. Trump supporters have been poked in the eye for 4 years. I’ll give them a pass on this one. Trump’s response was not “tepid”. It’s accomplished it’s purpose. You seem to me like someone who would go away “tepidly” into the night humming “kumbaya”. Ever wonder why God chose Trump as

Out country is being stolen. There seems to be no way to stop it. I no longer want to hear about "playing nice". That is like telling someone to let the bully beat you up because fighting back is not "NICE"! The Supreme Court won't function as it is supposed to. The Republican party won't function as it is supposed to. I have no intention of ever voting again, because "Why should I?"

I think that the march was infiltrated by antifa operatives dressed as Trump supporters, who had the violence as an objective, so that the media would blame the Trump supporters.

If you are ahead in those states that night and then you lose in the am and you have affidavits of fraud , fbi governors and the Supreme court will not investigate then all of government is responsible Pelosi they do what they do, democrats never speaking out against leftist violence. They own this final outburst. These people do not deserve to serve the citizens They have invited violence on both sides with the help of the media. Media disrespectful toward the President also incited the 4 years of violence. The lies of Russian collusion.

Don't know if you saw this on non-MSM, but those breaking into the Capitol bldg. had, in their possession, plastic shields AND helmets. I have never seen "Trumpers" outfitted with that equipment, so something more nefarious is likely happening.

Today what I saw was men wearing helmets as I have seen in the past at riots across this country before not Trump supporters. I also see thousands of people tired of the lock downs, tired of politicians that are not caring about the American Constitution but their own greed, as many I know tired of seeing more votes than voters, tired of states that had more voters than they had on record. I fear this is only the beginning of people ignoring government interference. But also we had Boston that got 1776 started too!
