“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

Violence is never the answer, but blaming Trump is wrong. If election fraud had been investigated, instead of being swept under the rug, today's actions would have been avoided. The people who kept the election fraud from being investigated are the ones who should be ashamed of themselves. The blood is on their hands. The only thing we can do now is pray for the Rapture. American freedom will be lost under a Biden/Harris agenda.

The rioters WERE NOT TRUMP supporters. They are ANTIFAS and rioters, the same ones that we have seen before looting and burning and attacking the police!!

I would not be surprised if the" alleged Trump supporters " who were overrunning the police were not Trump supporters.Leftist thugs have tried to get us to react violently to their thievery, arson ,assault and murder. I believe they started this using the cover of the thousands of Trump supporters.

Today’s violence at the U.S. Capitol was perpetrated by planted Antifa/BLM disciples. Watch the videos; you can easily pick them out. Watch the surprisingly few so-called security forces open gates as these same security forces offer a brief, token resistance to the loud, but peaceful “Trumpers” as they enter the building. Do they set fires, do they shatter windows or trash offices? Doesn’t matter they did not; the mainstream media tells us it’s Trump’s “last gasp” before being forcefully removed from the White House They also keep reminding us the while the elections (including the GA Senate runoffs) did include “some” fraudulent vote processing, it was insufficient to change the elections’ outcomes. Riiiiight... I feel betrayed. My 25 years of service to my country, including an airborne combat tour in Vietnam & Cambodia is meaningless. Hey, my fellow Americans: What have we just done?

We are ashamed of the Trump so called patriots If they are the ones that broke through the bars and raided the capitol.

I do not condone today. What makes it any different than what happened when Hillary did not win? Or when the fighting was erupting over police enforcing the laws, or when we pulled down all statues. Or and or and or.
I am angry we sunk to their levels. We are better than this, I think the American people have been pushed beyond our tolerance. Can Joe handle this American Revolution. Kamala scares me.

Trump said more than enough, and he need not gild the lily. Let your yes be and your no be no.
It is the practice of the politically woke to overstate when a simple answer will do. There is no point in being politically correct anymore; they are going to put all of us in concentration camps starting with your daughter! Wake up!!

I've always liked you Governor Huckabee and even voted for you in the 2008 Primary, so I'm really shocked by your article. If we "demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed" then we should demand that Electors not be recognized from states where elections were held in violation of the Constitution. How could you even say such a thing when elections were stolen in swing states by governors and bureaucrats who changed times, places and the manner of holding elections with no Constitutional authority whatsoever? Pence and McConnell are not only cowards, they are traitors who handed over Our Constitutional Republic to socialists without a fight.

The people who are overthrowing Our Constitutional Republic lie, cheat and steal to get what they want, and they are every bit as evil as the Nazis who took over Germany. Now they know they can even steal national elections with impunity. Not only can they steal elections with impunity, though, they'll be able to count on people like you to lecture our side about civility after an innocent, unarmed veteran like Ashli Babbit is shot for the "crime" of protesting at the Capitol.

I used to wonder how Germany went from being a free, constitutional republic to gassing its own citizens in just seven short years, but now I know, because I see America going down the same path that led Germany to Auschwitz. When tyrants are so arrogant they think they can steal elections in the middle of the night, when the courts are so feckless they refuse to even hear evidence of blatant fraud, when public servants are so corrupt they think they can ignore subpoenas and when elected representatives are so cowardly they won't stand up to corruption, it's time for Americans to step up and do whatever is necessary to insure the survival of Our Constitutional Republic. I'm pretty sure America's Founding Fathers would agree with me too, because Alexander Hamilton explicitly states in Federalist Paper No. 29 that the Second Amendment is to guard Our Republic against sedition and to act as a check on Tyranny. If, however, Americans refuse to stand up to tyranny that pales in comparison to the tyranny our founders overthrew in the 1770s, then we don't deserve to be free.

Agree governor. At the the same time how do we continue to respect the law when it is continually broken, ignored, bent, laughed at by those on the left. The law only serves those who respect it and obviously the left does not or we would not find ourselves in the place we are today. How long do we sit by and watch America be torn apart by the lawlessness of the left? They have no reservation about breaking it. I served for 24 years in the military and never forgot my oath. ..."all enemies foreign and domestic." If congress and the senate are unable to right this grievous wrong many of us feel other steps may have to be taken. I don't think Sam Adams, John Hancock, Paul Revere, etc, would be satisfied with just carrying a sign. May God bless and protect real American patriots. I have a feeling we will be needing them.

I do NOT believe these were Trump supporters. I do believe these were the ANTIFA scums infiltrated the protestors, pretending to be supporters.

It is sad about the violent disruption at today’s rally. I do NOT believe these were Ttump supporters, probably BLM or Antifa thugs. Reviewing the video, it is easy to see these people were radicals, and are used to doing this. They knew how to handle themselves, This wasn’t their first time doing this. God bless President Trump, for caring enough about the people and our country, for the hell these corrupt politicians and the media has put him through. He had been a blessing to us all.

  • Judy Ashby

My comment is it was a set up not Trumpers . BLM protestors inside capitol. They go unpunished we knew we would not be fairly treated. So no chances were taken.

Mike, in the face of so much ignored evidence of election corruption the people had every right to occupy the public spaces for peaceful protest. It’s nearly intolerable at this point to watch lie-filled speeches in Congress as they continue to deny the fraud and corruption. The people were there to say STOP! Who became violent? Evidence is emerging that known BLM and Antifa members led that charge while masquerading as Trump supporters. Seems to me the Capitol police used excessive force in gunning down the woman entering the chamber. I have yet to see evidence that Trump supporters were violent. Great narrative for those opposed to Trump though.

The link I sent in a previous message was a twitter page with pictures of the "Q shaman." Apparently, he is not associated with Antifa and is, in fact, a counter-Antifa demonstrator. I apologize for the error.

True, violence is never the answer. Photos were posted within an hour of the incident (my son and his wife were there. They saw some of the people/men involved), of men who had the same makeup, same costumes, same faces as some specific BLM "protesters" in photos from a few months ago in another city. These Antifa thugs were brought in, given Trump supporter flags, etc. to do this action.

What would make us not think of this 1st. It is a typical Antifa move, backed by the same Deep State. Thank you for all you do, Mike!

I respectfully disagree. I believe the President's comments were appropriate. Not much was exactly known of what was happening, but of course, the MSM had already said we had riots. What I saw were not riots, it was peaceful support for our country and our President. The storming of the Capitol was totally wrong. Antifa had said they would infiltrate the Trump supporters, and there is proof on pictures that they did. No doubt, some Trump supporters joined in, including the Air Force veteran who served four tours of duty, and tragically was killed today. She was unarmed, was a patriot who like millions of us are totally outraged at the corruption of the Democrats and the establishment Republicans who don't care about We the people. Millions of us believe our presidential election was stolen. I believe many of us will be leaving the Republican Party, there is only a handful of true conservative leaders left. Believe me as a naturalized American citizen I came from a banana Republic, and what I saw in the recent election is identical or worse to what I saw in my native country. I have supported President Trump because he has the courage to expose all the corruption, and his policies are outstanding. He has endured more than any human being should for four years 24/7. Now we have the head of the Senate telling us that we cannot overturn an election based on mere allegations. They don't know if they are just allegations, no one heard, saw or investigated. It seems to me that our entire system has been corrupted. These so called legislators in cooperation with the media, the big tech, Hollywood and the oligarchy of billionaires are destroying our nation. President Trump tried to stop it, and achieved so much in spite of all the hate and evil, and for this they needed to destroy him. I mourn for this great country, and the future generations. I thank from the bottom of my heart the best President ever, President Trump. I no longer watch the MSM, there are no news, just biased opinions and hate. I am now very careful of what I watch and what I read. I think moving forward if no investigation is done on the recent election, and a thorough reform is done, we will no longer be a country of law and order. Sure, the Democrats are now really going to try to totally destroy our country. I am angry, I am frightened, I am in total disbelief. However, most of the Republicans just sit back and acquiesce. They should have learned from President Trump to stand strong, and to deliver on their promises. Thank you for listening. RIP to the patriotic lady who passed away today. God bless.

It was a sad day today, and those who violated the capitol should be ashamed if they were truly Trump supporters. It would have been good for everyone if authorities that be would have examined voting machines and determined to what extent fraud was involved. Those who impeded examination as to whether my vote was disenfranchised need to take a look at their
contribution to this endless debate and all the wasted time fighting for truth.
