Trump supporters aghast at today's inexcusable violence

“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

    Mr. Huckabee, I respect your opinion and I don’t condone what happened at the capital today. However, I believe you are jumping to a conclusion before you know all of the facts just as you did when George Floyd died of a drug overdose: not police brutality. First of all we don’t even know if it was Trump supporters or ANTIFA or BLM. Also, I do not believe anyone was ever in danger, except for the poor woman who was needlessly shot and killed by police. Please follow your own advice and wait for all of the facts to be discovered. After what President Trump has been through, I believe his video was a good condemnation of what happened today. It doesn’t really matter if Trump got down on his knees, kissed their feet and apologized personally to Jim Acosta and Chris Cuomo it still wouldn’t have been enough. You have to be ignorant, stupid and blind to not believe this election wasn’t stolen. If this is not overturned now our constitutional republic is dead because there is no hope of another conservative being elected.

    Dear Mike...my heart is aching for the country I so dearly love. But the one thing I know in the midst of all this horrible mess is that the Lord is still in control. He has a plan for our nation and in due time He will show us the way. I will continue to pray for forgiveness and guidance for America. And, most of all, my trust is in Him! God bless us all!

    I have been a follower of yours for a very long time and always considered you an intelligent man, until now.

    Have you not been watching the pics that have shown up that confirm Antifa was behind this. There is a video that shows Capitol Police ushering these fools in. This was a false flag op, trying to turn the nation against our President. And you come out with this drivel. Get your facts before writing your op eds.

    I am just appalled at what happened today. However, this country is so divided it just can't stand much longer as a whole nation. The media hypes everything to the extreme causing a lot of the chaos we see in the streets of the USA today. I'm saddened about all this and pray daily we turn back to God...

    I believe the people who entered the Capitol were Antifa posing as Trump supporters. There to cause a disturbance to make Trump and his supporters look bad.

    I'm shocked, as I'll bet many others are, as it emerges that there's to be no investigation whatsoever of alleged improprieties in several states - we are simply expected to blindly accept what we are told rather than the mountains of evidence to the contrary. What is the point in ever voting again when the outcome is already settled?

    The real Trump supporters were not violent. With a group that large there are always bad apples in the barrel. It's a shame that we sunk to the level of the Portland riots. We are better than that. Unfortunately Trump fired them up with his speech. Well with the results of the Georgia elections the Republicans now have two years to correct the problems and recreate a party that speaks with one voice.

    It's a sad day in America when anyone loses their life as did one young woman. It may be that the devil not only went down to Georgia but also to inhabit the White House, but you know what God is still on His throne and is faithful to us. We may not understand his "timeline" or his plans for the future but we can hang onto hope no matter what knowing He is always in our corner.

    I totally agree with you brother and Governor!!! I am disappointed and heartbroken by our President Trump s lack of mature leadership today!!! And he fell right into the DEMON RATS trap of ridicule and disgust! Even congressional leaders who were on board for investigation regarding fraud in this election are backing down now!!! Biden and his cohorts come out smelling like a rose, now didn't they!!! And while our President got his hot temper and ego in the way, a few in the crowd got fired up...and a woman died!!! This is a heartbreak for those of us who are law abiding citizens of America and who will sleep much less secure tonight!!! THE NAME OF THE LORD IS OUR STRONG TOWER, THE RIGHTEOUS RUN INTO THAT NAME AND ARE SAVED!!! NO GOVERNMENT, NO PRESIDENT, ONLY JESUS CHRIST CAN AND WILL SAVE!!!     Mike, when ALL remedies have failed due to fraud, corruption, threats to lawyers/judges, judges fearing riots so they had a derelection of duty...what is left for the people to do?!? What is right is now considered wrong and what is wrong is considered right in our screwed up world! It has to stop, nothing else has stopped it, and it will only get worse given the values of the far left Democrats. Our nation was FOUNDED upon the people having had ENOUGH of tyranny! We have reached the tipping point and Democrats need to start looking at their role in all this (which they won’t bc it’s not in their nature anymore) and it is PAST time to fight back. I have a Masters degree in psychology and I see very clearly who we are dealing with and it is scary. They need to be stopped before it’s too late.

    Mike, give him a chance. You have to remember Trump HAS to be the teeth for all of us. Only a small handful of Republicans have ANY backbone. Mitch and the idiot Sen Cassidy that rode Trump’s coat tail right thru his election only to tell us “we can not risk Normalization of contesting Electors”
    So you settle for Appeasement to Fraud to keep from rocking the boat?
    No Sir, in my opinion.... to not take the necessary steps to investigate fraud no matter which side is TREASON!
    And our POTUS has been screaming about the mass mail in ballots for months... the man needs HELP and the GOP has officially shown its true face.

    All of these people just doing the “right thing” and following their version of the Constitution, still do not stand with the Republican Party and are not unified as the Socialist Dems. So, we the little people suffer. All the great accomplishments my children have achieved in the last 4 years and tax savings, etc will all go away. I blame Republicans for the loss of the Bill of Rights being destroyed. The swamp that is Washington DC will now sink the USA. Personally, I can not believe I am hearing the House rules being dictated by Pelosi. This whole thing is eyond words

    Well, from what I am hearing and what I think to be the case, is that it wasn't even Trump supporters who were causing the problems today. It was Antifa posing as Trump supporters.

    Yes, I think Trump was quick to turn on Vice President Pence. Pence has been his right man and supporter for the last 4 years. Give the guy some slack. He is doing what he thinks is right.

    What I would like to say, I stated a few minutes ago in a letter to VP Pence:
    Dear VP Pence: I have had great respect for you as a Christian Man, and a leader of our country. I am so sorry for what has happened today at the Capital, and understand POTUS' fans were stirred up, but doubt his followers did much of the damage...probably ANTIFA posing as Trump supporters, I would guess.

    But I have to take issue with ALL those who denied evidence of Voter fraud...Actually it is more Election Fraud, as mostly voters weren't responsible for the fraud, but the election workers, mostly Democrats.
    I have watched hours and hours of hearings, mostly in Georgia and Wisconsin, listening to testimony from eye witnesses, who described many instances of fraudulent actions by workers, even to a video recorded shred truck pulling up and emptying huge bins of what appeared to be, and certainly could have been ballots being discarded and destroyed...The actions of their election workers were shameful. All the illegal actions of the election workers in Democrat areas, having been accepted as "ok" by the system, it will encourage those so inclined to do it again, since it worked!! How on earth can we prevent it next time, since no one has had a penalty for their actions?

    I guess their penalty will being having Kamala Harris as President. I don't believe Biden will last a year.
    I doubt we will see him in Heaven, I've seen the reports of his slimy deals in Ukraine and China...and heard the lies about his never having discussed business with Hunter....how can such a person even run for President?? He doesn't deserve the honor, or title...I am so disappointed in our system which will allow such blatant election fraud to pass.

    Well, I strongly suspect the base of the violence was NOT Republican, just made to look that way. Mr. Huckabee, based on the clearly stolen election, President Trump's admonishment to remain peaceful and respect the law was all that he should or could have said, and even if he restated that the election was stolen, IT WAS!, no question, and to act gracious about that...NO, please, we who voted for President Trump to find that our vote was not counted and there will be no need to vote anymore in this country, NO, please don't expect us to walk quietly away, we surely have a right to protest, though not in a violent way, but for ONE last time, can't the voice of the true winning party be heard? I am sorry that you have quickly jumped in to criticize President Trump. Very sad.
    The United States is gone. I remain on the side of God and will follow his instruction, and my rights as a Christian will NOT be infringed upon under any circumstances.

Am sad that Pence did not allow the states to submit alternate votes when they realized irregularities and think GOP and Hawley should have stuck together to vehemently protest and demand extension for legislatures and teams to verify and investigate and rightfully claim TRUMP winer. .BIden is NOT NOR EVER WILL BE MY PRESIDENT. nor hO VICE. gop SHOULD DEVELOP BACKBONE LIKE DEMS IN PAST CONTESTING AND PUSHY. nOT RIGHT TO LEAVE IT ALL TO COURTS AND BE TURNED DOWN.     Coverage is so confusing. Who are these people? Are we sure they are Republicans. The left hates Trump and us so much, they may be behind this. The media cannot he trusted, period.     I am a strong supporter of President Trump, but I do not believe he should of asked Vice President Pence to do what he wished. I can understand as a strong and successful man how this election has brought him to a new low for a respected man who did so much for America and still so poorly respected by his to many; regardless of his numerous accomplishments to write in this brief comment. He deserved to be elected and I do believe he was robbed. I would of liked him to state to the supporters and protestors that he appreciated their support and please be calm and avoid violence at any costs. It is important not to repeat the violence of the the democrat supported BLM or antififa. Ted Cruz was leading a process to help unveil the election fraud with traceability and accountability for the future. It is beyond sad, that this is lost now.

    So what is next? I had watched the media coverage today & heart broken at the disrespect & violence (promoted in media). I discovered that BLM has sent "camouflaged as Trump supporters" to insight rioting. Some friends of mine did attend today, but being disabled I could not. I remember the standard "rule penetration" of 20% if applied to the attendance today 80% of those who wanted to attend could not. I pray we do not enter another civil war.

    I agree that violence is NEVER the answer. However how hypocritical that the Dems remained silent throughout the summer when cities were burning to the ground, businesses were getting looted, statues were being destroyed, marches by BLM and Antifa were ok but opening restaurants and religious ceremonies forbidden, cops were being tormented, people were being beaten and threatened and yet NOW the violence is not ok. And, I believe that the violence was caused by antifa and BLM dressed as MAGA fans. Why isn't anyone talking about that?

    Before the Battle of the Bulge, the Germans dressed in American uniforms disguised their tanks as American tanks and infiltrated the American lines from behind...................I saw someone dressed in black, with black mask and hoodie. Was the protesters line been infiltrated from the front lines?
