“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

Trump supporters didn't charge the door. These people were not part of us. These people were antifa

I find this action today appalling and am sure that Pres. Trump did not insight this or any other riot. He sure has done plenty good for this country and the left just want to keep changing, adding to or deleting from, our Constitution.

I guess it's over but if they don't fix this, we will never win another election. President Trump should just leave on inauguration day. He shouldn't have breakfast with Biden or attend his inauguration...just leave. He has been treated horribly and owes them nothing.

Like Charlie Kirk said , we finally reached our Boiling Point! Four years of imaginary accusations toward Trump. Most Revolutions are marked by violence. This is no different

I am very disappointed what has transpired today. I am a Trump supporter but more importantly I am reasonably certain that widespread election fraud is and has taken place. It's unfortunate that a small percentage of Trump supporters and probably a few Antifa plants felt it necessary to breach the secured Capital grounds. They ruined all the hard work that most law abiding Trump supporters had done to stand above all the illegal activities recently. They have given MSM all the ammunition they need to denounce Trump supporters as seditious traitors and terrorists. Unfortunately MSM followers believe everything they are told. Even with the members of congress giving up on challenging the 2020 election we still had a good chance of exposing the fraud. But now we have lost all credibility with today's disruption of our supposed legal process. God works in many ways and today is not the end of the road. We will keep fighting peacefully for what we know is right. God Bless America.

You are correct. The president should condemn them. I wish he would not continue to say the election was not fair. It is over; let’s move on.

I still think the landslide election was stolen from President Trump. There are too many instances of fraud to be a valid election. It really disgusts me to hear anyone say the election was won by Biden. As I did when Obama was president, I'll turn off TV when Biden comes on.
I also think some shenanigans happened in Georgia yesterday. Every state should operate elections like Indiana does: every ballot is verified by a Republican and a Democrat working as a team.

Infiltration by antifa is the answer to the violence. They planned this early on & dressed like Trump supporters then led the charge. Their actions set ours back plenty, the violence brought joy to George Sorous & the like. Anarchy is their aim & game. It was played out all too well today. May we be praying for some actual truth to emerge to the public although that is unlikely. So very sad indeed. Thank you, Governor Huckabee for your life and commitment to God, family & truth. You give us hope and accurate vision. Remain vigilant. Thank you and May God bring truth and hope to His people.

The unarmed woman was shot and died. Who shot her? Before this happened, I hoped we could get a concession from the Democrats to look at the irregularities. Probably fat chance then and no chance now. We are in for a rough 4 or longer years and since I am 80, I hope we can stand the strain and fix this voting scam.

    Gov Huckabee

I grew up loving America. I loved all the 4th of July events. I loved reading history. My father came here legally from Germany. He married my mom who’s a member of Pawnee/Flandreau Santee. I wanted to become the first woman native america President of the United States. I went to CU-Boulder. Campaigned for Clinton in 1992 with College Democrats. Studied Political science there. I left school when I was 22 to raise my family. I put my children in Christian schools. I started home schooling them after 9/11. I saw the lies democrats were telling us. I stopped watching CNN. I started watching Fox News. Gov Huckabee. With all of my heart I love Jesus. I see that God has anointed Trump to turn us back to Jesus. To turn government back into God fearing nation. Today, watching Trump. It breaks my heart to see this man being treated like poop. I have followed Trump on Twitter since 2013. I knew America needed him. I’m so blessed to have a president like Trump for the past 4 years. My heart is heavy. God is being betrayed. We are being stabbed in the back. Mike did have a choice. He took authority when they returned after recess. Why didn’t he use the same authority to reject dualing electors. My heart is heavy. Pence betrayed us. The Republican Party betrayed us. I can’t in my conscious support Republicans anymore. They destroyed America along with Democrats. Biden and Harris is going to divide this great nation. States are going to become more sovereign and secede from the union. I will pour my energy into that new ideology. A country where God is feared and revered. Not the false gods of DC.
Praying for the souls in this country. Praying for yours.
    God Bless.

I think your headline said it all... Trump Supporters Aghast... I don't think those people were Trump Supporters, I think they were there to make Trump/Trump Supporters look bad. Trump told the people to go home, he told them that's not who we are - that's 10 Gazillion times more than we ever heard from the left with all the rioting and burning - you know, the "mostly peaceful protests." Trump has never ever shied away from saying what he thinks and that's what his supporters love about him. I heard someone on a talk show say today that Pence's career is over, he will never be elected to so much as a dog catcher so if he had aspirations to the presidency they are gone, and I believe that is true. Once again Trump said what we were all thinking, like he always does. Look, if Alan D. wasn't sure then I don't know how Pence was SO sure. Support your guy and maybe the Supreme Court will have to sort it out later. I lost a lot of respect for Pence today. Loyalty right out the window. Trump supporters will not forget but we handle things like that at the voting booth, not with violence. Look, I condemn the violence, always have and always will, and if it was conservatives that were responsible I condemn it the same as I did the liberals. But I don't believe it was Conservatives that caused the mayhem. Like Trump said... that's not who we are. I don't think this will end with a Trump 2nd term, sadly I don't, but I respect that he is trying to make our votes count and for us to believe in a system that we haven't had to doubt so much before. Our votes were stolen and I know our lives are going to change beyond what we can even comprehend at this point. We all need to ask for God's help and intervention that things will not be as bad as it looks like they're going to be. I think I've been disjointed and I'm sure I'll think of something later that I wanted to say but it's a start.

Although I also was disappointed in what VP Pence read in his letter to the Senate, I trust his integrity and am sure it was difficult for him to make the right decision. He should count the votes and debate any disagreements brought up by the states, just like he began to do. (I am afraid Trump knew this and set him up for the disappointment on the Senate floor) I feel those people who became violent were not patriots, did not trust our Constitutional system of law. We can never take the law into our own hands in this country. Then we will no longer remain free.

I agree that the violence should be condemned! It should have never happened! But I do not agree that Trump should be told what and how to say things! This is not Trumps fault, the violence, it is the fault of many that went there to do violence! 99.9% of the protesters that were there were there out of frustration over their belief that the election was stolen! Not because Trump said so but because hundreds of whistleblowers testified it was. Frustrated because Congress blew conservatives off along with laws for me but not for thee! Lockdowns, small businesses shut down, cant see grandma in the nursing home much less for Thanksgiving and Christmas! Recession, vaccine good or bad, at this point no one knows! Total fear of First and Second amendment rights being infringed! Dems said they would infringe those rights and using media and big tech to do it! To cut this short, Congress, House/Senate and SCOTUS could have prevented this by listening to frustrated Americans and taken the time to investigate and prove our frustrations as legitimate or not! Americans will not always agree with each other but if they think their grievances are taken seriously and listened to, even if they do not like the outcome, they will accept it and move to fix it next time! Presently, those in power do not feel the need to respond to its constituents and continue to allow one set of rules for the left and another for conservatives! Rinos are the worst! I pray that we will be able to bring this country back from the cliff we have fallen over! But to be honest, I do not have faith that the country I grew up in and served in the military will ever be seen again! The only answer is "even so come, Lord Jesus come!"

At this point condemning actions is nothing more than lip service. The shooter was just in my opinion. Doesn’t mean i like it or condone it. The whole damn thing has been a set up and travesty of justice since 2016 and before.

Trump has managed to screw everything up that he did by his own mouth! I am sickened by his loss but he let his narcissism ruin him. He truly incited the riots in today’s capital fiasco! I believe the election was rigged but no one could seem to prove it? He was probably the best President we ever had, but he lost by his own remarks!

I think you are a very good man Pastor Huckabee, I really do. However, I do have to ask the question “When is enough...enough.” It seems we all talk this wonderful sounding game and then “talk” some more. I am glad our founders were not just talkers. They had enough and acted. I like Mr. Pence but he acted the coward. Most republicans act the coward. Democrats mobilize and attack. Action at every turn...never relenting...while republicans “play nice.” If I was a betting man I suspect Antifa had a whole lot to do with what happened today...but as usual will get by with it because we need to parse and ring our hands because the most courageous president of our lifetime did use or say just the right thing. He doesn’t need at this point to be criticized by his “friends”. He needs support from his “friends”. But alas the rats are abandoning the ship.

I am agast at YOUR response!! Talking seems to be your so called gift but politics and the Constitution plus the PEOPLE are NOT yours! President Trump did what he was supposed to do don't you get that? He was NOT to blame for the few out of thousands that went the wrong way! I always liked you and read almost everything except when you've gone off on a tangent. I will no longer follow you. I don't believe in violence but I do believe in whats right!! You would have been one that condemed Jesus in the Temple when he took a whip to the money changers, and I'm sure others. You had better calm down and keep your rino opinions to yourself. Like I said, these people were wrong and yet they were right in some ways! Good to know you stand behind nobody except yourself and your money making jobs. Bye I will pray for you.

I saw a post stating the people breaking into the building were identified as having been in a BLM riot.

  • Delores Hepler

    01/06/2021 09:44 PM

Trump supporters had nothing to do with the riot. Like all other riots they were plants from the left to try to make Trump look bad. They were there before Trump ever dismissed his supporters who walked peacefully to the Capital. Antics and BLM were the rioters. They need to be arrested

There have been a lot of photos of those that did the violence that have been seen at other violent things that have been antifa and blm have been involved. Facebook took those down quickly, no one believes it is the patriots except those who want this to be added to their agenda of false information.
