“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

Trump did everything he could to help this Nation and he wanted to continue to help this Nation. Of course he is disappointed because he knows what the democrats will do to undo all the good he did.
It is not his fault that some unruly people stormed the capital. Don't blame it on him. What the Lord means for good satan trys to destroy.

I also am very saddened at the conduct displayed today. It would be something that I would expect from Antifa and BLM. This seriously gives the President and his supporters a black eye. We may not agree with the election results but from a Christian stand point, Evil is Evil. God would not condone the behavior, and unfortunately the line was crossed, shameful and embarrassing.

Yes, republicans are the party of law and order and of wimps and cowards. Governor Huckabee, I have met you and had a few brief conversations when you came to Jackson, MS for various events.
Was impressed with your down to earthiness, intelligence, common sense, integrity and entertain-ment skills. I, too, love music, especially country music. Today, 1-6-21, I am so disgusted with republicans and I think this is the final straw with their lack of leadership. Am so thankful they are not my Dad, brother or husband. I would be afraid, very afraid as I am for my country. By the way, I worked for a U.S. Senator and he had more spine and backbone than all the republicans serving in Congress now. All for the sake of "they" (democrats) will retaliate.

No one wanted this violence. But everybody expected it to happen, unfortunately. Liberals wished it, those who perpetrated the violence did it with pre-meditation, and the Conservatives crossed thier fingers hoping it wouldn't happen. I would like to see the Constitutional process play out. But now it is tainted with distrust on all sides. America's healing process will take two generations now, barring any offensive action by either side of the aisle. And, Everyone will be on edge thinking someone is going to start more "civil unrest". Ugh!

I attended the Save America Rally today 1/6/21. The organized rally was a very peaceful event. No one has been able to say with certainty whether the woman who was shot today in the US Capitol was a MAGA protester or if she represented Antifa.

As someone who watched most if not all the lengthy 3 hr+ videos of Rudy and the rest of the Trump Legal Team, as they presented strong, credible evidence to state legislatures, I am convinced Trump was actually re-elected by 74-80 million Americans.
If the protester shot today in the Capitol was an Antifa activist there will almost certainly be a media coverup. Trump is not responsible for the actions of deranged lunatics. He had an election stolen from him. If there was nothing to substantiate that claim why are there a dozen Senators and approximately 100 Representatives objecting to the Democratic slates of Electors from seven battleground states? Tens of thousands of Patriots see this for what it is, a coup d’etat against Trump’s Second Term as our duly elected President.

I’m saddened & embarrassed by the actions of those who broke into capital. BLM, Antifa, & Trump supports all have the right to protest under our constitution. None of these organizations have the right to riot. You’ve made those who have desperately clung to the notion that Trump was a fascist Nazi leader appear true. You’ve hurt the Republican Party and every individual member.

While I agree with you about the violence. I disagree about Pence. He sold out, along with all the other senators that sold out as well. I hope you will step in and help us gain back real leaders and replace the rinos we have.

Violence is not the answer! But I want to know who was responsible before blaming Trump supporters. I will not assume I know until the true identity of the guilty people is known. Please everyone continue to pray for this country!

Mike We are almost the same age by a month and have watched our politics devolve. I’m originallyfrom Illinois and am now seeing Chicago style politics nationwide. I agree that violence is not the answer but it appears that Antifa was involved. People are extremely frustrated here outside of the beltway and it has been horrible the abuse Trump has endured the past 4 years. He’s done great things for the country in his own sometimes tasty manner. God used kings like that in Israel so it’s not unprecented. My fear of the takeover of our government is the great reset. As believers our only way out of that will be by rapture...whenever that will take place. I don’t condone the violence but I understand it.

I have always been a Pence supporter. Every time I voted for Trump I got Pence. President Trump did some good during his first four years, but he is too old and his name should not have been on the ballot for re-election. I am older than President trump, and I can see when he and others are getting too old for public office.

My heart hurts for the family of the young woman(a veteran)who was killed today at the US Capital??
The violence is not what true Trump supporters agree with!!!
The far left is now on charge of our country and God save us going forward!!!
This is one of the saddest days of my almost 80 years on this earth??

I am heart broken and angry at the same time to see how our country has turned on both sides. No matter who those were that attack our Capital they were wrong and all should face federal charges. But I caution everyone these could very well have been plants by the Democrats knowing the up roar it would cause. However, as I said if they are President Trump supporters they are wrong and should be punished. I would not be surprised if Antifa is involved. Also I have supported our President throughout and will continue to do so but he is wrong to go after Vice President Pence.

VP Pence is sold out to the enemy. Why should you defend him, and in so doing throw President Trump under the bus? We have known for a while who VP Pence is; are you one too?

This attack on the capitol most certainly must be met with the strongest condemnation. No matter how bad we feel about the election, to resort to lawlessness is unacceptable and those doing it are stooping to the level of blm and antifa. There should be no excuse for it. We have a right to defend ourselves if we are attacked but I am truly ashamed of anyone who would join in this attack. It gives the corrupt media a chance to say, "see we told you the truth about Trump and his supporters. "
I honestly feel very bad for Trump and believe the election was stolen from him, but resorting to violence is only going to make things worse. If you are attacked then you have the right and moral highground to defend yourself but leave the rioting and lawlessness to the low life Biden base that seems to delight in lawlessness.
I belive VP Pence was in somewhat of a difficult situation, knowing the feelings of President Trump about the electoral count, yet determined to uphold the constitution and not be swayed from doing what he thought was right regardless of personal opinions concerning the election and he should be commended!

This was a Soros paid Antifa that dressed as Trump supporters. I would never believe anything else.
The remarks made about our Christian VP Pence make me sick. I believe he is a true man of God. We pray daily for God to intervene. He will in HIS time.
Thank you Gov Huckabee for you articles and your show. We like hearing the truth of matters.
Stay well and God bless ...

I have to disagree. Those politicians had it coming. For weeks they ignored everything. They mocked these people, they ignored the evidence and even went on to claim it was baseless. They refused to do anything to settle the issue and even refused to listen to their grievances. The only thing missing was a few cases of tea to throw in the fountain. I don't condone the violence, but I do derive a bit of pleasure from imagining these politicians cowering in the basement realizing they can only govern if we consent to be governed. All they had to do to avoid this was to address the issues at hand.. They chose not too, and got what they deserved, unfortunately someone had to die because of their fecklessness. We may be the party of law and order, but so far that law and that order has failed us.

You stated in an earlier newsletter that the Democrats will most likely push the most radical agenda this country has ever seen. That being said, they will need to be convinced that they cannot steal elections or run roughshod over the American People. This movement is an organic, grass roots movement that is not going to go away simply because Trump left office. And this is only the beginning. If you are telling me that the American people chose Socialism, when I never did, and then tell me I have to accept it...I will not. There 80 million or more people who also will not. What is more dangerous? This party that is now taking complete control of our Government and threatens to do all the insane garbage they pushed in the primaries or an uprising against this evil?
