“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

Mike, as a follower of Jesus Christ, I am struggling with the obvious corruption in our government. I long for righteousness and justice to reign in our country. But if ever there is a country that deserves God's judgment, it is the United States. Many of our churches have decided they don't like the God who is both love and righteousness but also just. So they have made a religion based on who they want Him to be rather than the holy God He is. I had hoped God would give us a reprieve and bring about a great revival. But if that is not His plan, I will accept that. It is past time for the pulpits to call out our sin and issue the call for repentance.
I think will deteriorate very quickly in our country and Christians need to decide whose side they are really on. Are we willing to stand on His Word and in love, call out a warning of coming judgment, regardless of what it cost us? Are we willing to speak in love about what His Word really says. My brother-in-law recently indicated that his church is now teaching universalism and heaven is only here on earth now because there is no afterlife. Also, he believes that all we are called to do as followers of Christ is to do good works. There is no need to "cram" our beliefs down someone's throat. I guess they'll just catch belief in Christ like they would catch a cold or maybe they'll just magically absorb faith in Christ. At any rate, I believe the apostate church is alive and well in the United States. I believe we are close to the rapture of the true Church and then the tribulation. God has us in this time and place for a purpose. Regardless of what lies ahead, I pray that I and others will stay strong in the Lord; that we will be willing to speak the truth in love, regardless of the personal cost, and that when we finish this race, the Father can say of us, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant!"

There is a group of thugs infiltrating peaceful protests. Giving Trump supporters bad names and reputation. I believe God’s plan for Mr Trump to prevail. The violence has to be curtailed. Get tough on the violence. God’s will be done. Donald Trump is my president.

I have heard from people that was there, that have stated it was Antifa dressed as Trump supporters that stormed inside the capital!!! Would appreciate it if this was further investigated before the judgment is passed. As you know sir, they have two different standards based on your party affiliation. Violence is never acceptable, but the ones screaming the loudest are those like Sally Kohn that made this statement: (I don't like violent protests, but I understand them. And those wagging their fingers against violent protests need to read up on their American history). You know sir this is just one of many. Two wrongs don't make a right!!!

Were they really trump supporters. I dont believe in violence. I am so disappointed in our election process. I dont trust it any more. What's the sense of voting if its rigged. I feel sorry for America, there is such a divide. Such hatred for trump. Its divided families, neighbors, and church people. Without God's intervention we are heading down a slippery slope. I will continue to pray, trust in God's protection and His will.

Pence did the right thing under the Constitution. Much of the rioting in DC can be attributed to the public's frustration over a flawed election. However, any violence or damage to property cannot and should not be condoned.

A Kennedy Democrat turned conservative Republican. Old now but very worried for our country. Riots are approved by Democrats to accomplish their goals, so some feel it's OK. to retaliate.
Time for a Conservative party to rally behind.

It seems as if the Republican Party died today. The mainstream news will paint all of us as if we personally were the ones present in the capital today. We will be further demonized and any slight chance of having the voter fraud investigated has disappeared like a wisp of smoke. Our great country is no more. We now clearly have such corrupt leadership that the third world will be rolling their eyes. We will become targets for our enemies and we may well lose the battle.

Are they sure there wasn’t any antifa bused in on Monday night. Maybe 4 buses escorted into DC by police posing Trump supporters. Was a sad thing today but check all the facts, and compare pictures of other demonstrations. You might find out there are some familiar faces.

Antifa and BLM were told to camouflage themselves as Trump supporters. I did see some photos online. Could they be responsible? Just wondering.

I am troubled by the violence that erupted in the capital, and I do condemn it, but listening to our congressmen go on and on about how awful the violence was, when they were silent for so long also troubles. And when our congressman fail to challenge states that were far from fair in their election, and say that there was no fraud also worries me. They let the actions of a few deny the many of any real chance to verify the election. That is a disgrace too. I doubt if I will vote again, because now I know that my vote doesn't matter.

I watched the rally, everyone was peaceful, if there were people at the White House causing problems, and violence they should have been arrested. Then there could be proof if they really were Trump Supporters. If they didn't arrest them and just let them go, I would bet they were faking Trump supporters, and the Cops and White House staff was in on it. Just not right, they sure had enough people there to arrest them. They were doing Illegal things, and should have been arrested. Otherwise I would never believe Trump supporters did that.

I thought our President was very articulate in what he said. We do not know who was in charge of this act of violence. We can be sure it was not our President. I believe the Rhinos and Vice President Pence should take responsibility.

Some of those people where Antifa/BLM dressed as Trumpers. You know they were pushing them to do more. Not saying any of that is right but I get we are all frustrated. I love how the media makes us out to be so evil when the other side did so much worse for months. They even posted their bail. Hypocrisy. Perhaps if the Supreme Court did the right thing and heard the case we wouldn’t be in this mess.

Today was a very sad day for our nation. President Trump did try to tell people to go home & be peaceful, in a tweet & Twitter called that "inciting violence". Yes, he could have been more forceful about it. Yes, he could have left out the part about fraudulent elections, for that message of his & his followers, at a different time. It is also my understanding that Antifa members were disguised as Trump supporters, and were easily identifiable by the helmets they wore. What happened today should not have happened. That woman should not have been shot or died. What's even more concerning, is that the Capital security was breached so easily. If it could be breached this easily by protesters, it could be just as easily breached by terrorists such as Iran, who are threatening revenge to the U.S. right now. The world is watching America closely right now. Agreed, VP Pence is doing what he feels is the right thing to do, regardless of who agrees or does not agree with him. I wish Congress would have just agreed to a 10 day audit, but apparently that's not going to happen. Things are looking to get worse before they get better, if better is even to come? We are more divided each day it seems. I am concerned for our country. Many of us have been praying hard. Signs of the end times. God's will, will be done. He knows His plan. Still praying He has mercy on us & that we do not become Communist.

Mike, this is the first time I have ever disagreed with you. I am aghast that Vice President Pence, who according to many constitutional attorneys said he had the right, refused to stand up for what was right and do what was necessary to take this election back from the people who stole it from us. I am MAD, as are millions of other people, about what they've done, and I'm disappointed that you are caving in to the other side.

I believe this was Antifa violence to make Trump supporters look bad and fault Trump for it as usual!! Why would Trump supporters do this when the election was being challenged. Anyone can wear pro Trump clothing or flags. Don't take this at face value. The media will not tell the truth here. Thank you

C'mon Mike, you're smarter than that... NOT trump supporters, the breach was a planned and executed assault by antifa, positively identified by their own social media," Jake Angeli ", a part-time, two bit, voice over actor ( the guy with the horned medicine man hat, and his cohorts are even pictured with ( and I've even heard you say ) criminals aren't that bright, with a photo tag , bottom corner " phillyantifa.org logo
