President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

Why are you and others making the assumption that the people who stormed the capital building are Trump supporters. As I'm certain you know, Antifa operates by infiltrating the crowd and inciting violence. Another issue I have with the current swamp in Washington....they forget who they work for. We have the right to assemble. Suddenly the Washington elites and the Communist media act as if that is not true for conservatives. Schumer stated this evening that the citizens who showed up in protest of their votes being stolen were terrorists. The American people, conservatives, 'the silent majority' will not stand by and take it any longer. We fought for freedom by taking up arms in 1776. We can and will do it again if we must. ---Grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 5.

Blessings Mike, to say that Trump supporters caused this whole deal is probably not fair...I would bet that Antifa and other thugs were there to stir it up. I don't support what happened, a lot of us still think the elections including yesterdays were not run properly and we deserve better! I am a Veteran and I'm sick to my stomach watching US on a downward spiral into a third party country, give the incoming admin free reign and that's about where we will be in 4 years...God save us!

I don’t believe for a second that they were Trump supporters being violent. They were Antifa and BLM activists parading as Trump supporters.

Obviously the only thing you have to do to be a "Trumper" is to buy a MAGA cap. The dems and their lapdogs,Antifa, BLM etc are back at it again and President Trump gets blamed for it. Where have we seen this before ? I want more info from unimpeachable sources before I will turn on My President . ( I have absolutely no idea where to find a source like that in this day and age.

Governor,
Why do Republicans always have to play by the rules and Democrats have total disdain for any? I cannot understand how there was so much fraud yet SCOTUS and Congress seem to ignore it. We will now have 2 Leftist senators from GA, who shouldn't even be anywhere close to that office, if votes were counted correctly in the original election. Yet again, no one is lifting a finger to do anything about it. We will now live in a country so far removed from the one that I immigrated to with my family in 1965. Will there ever be a free election in this country again? I really enjoy your newsletters and catch you on YouTube as often as I can. Keep up the great work.

I don't think the people who rushed the capital were Trump supporters. I think they were Aifta. Trying to make Trump supporters look violent.

Yes the Pres should stop with the “stolen election” rhetoric and let it go. He’s not going to change anything and encouraging criminal behavior brings him down to the Dem level. I support his policies but he’s finished now. It’s time to be a man.

Mr Huckabee, I'm so sad and disheartened by all this mess. I feel like our rights have in ONE ELECTION been stripped away. I have a three year old daughter. If I didn't have her, I don't think I would feel so devastated. But she has her whole life ahead of her. I mourn for our children's futures. I so wish Jesus would come back. I'm ready.

I agree Trump should say more. Also, the Senate needs to appoint a Commission to look into the election. If the democrats did nothing wrong, then the Commission would exonerate them and they could brag about how wonderfully open they are. The only reason to NOT have it investigated, is if they did a lot of things wrong. I pray this election isn't the end of these United States.

Who shot the woman? Did the police kill her? I saw a photo showing the congressmen with guns, I thought that wasn't allowed. Another rule for thee but not for me? Half of these people want to ban guns for citizens but want to keep theirs.

Did you know that the police escorted several vans of Antifa to the crowd? Ya think they may have been involved Mike? Why don't you wait on the criticism until you know all the facts. He did condemn the violence, and told them to go home in peace.

Not aghast because do not believe it was Trump Supporters. I am aghast at Pence becoming the leader of the Democrat Election steal and feel betrayed by him as he said time and time again that he would fight for us. He did not fight today.. He wimped out and surrendered instead of sending votes back to states as they requested. No trust for Republicans, DOJ, Supreme Court or any of our institutions. Think we need like in 1776 to fight to get country back.

Breaking news: how about the 5 busloads of Antifa (dressed) participants that infiltrated the "peaceful Trump supporters?" Did you recognize the clear pig shields that broke windows at the capital building? Not built for one-time use.

I am in shock and are we 100% sure it was a Trump follower or an impersonator that was really antifa??? Vengeance is mine says the Lord! Wish He would hurry up! God know what He is doing we don’t. All we can do is continue to pray and praise the Lord.

We ( the Trump supporters) are sick of the cowards in our government. If the republicans won’t stand up and fight for our president then the people must! I’m ashamed of Mitch McConnels response to the election fraud! I’m ashamed of the Supreme Court for doing nothing. What is government for? Righteousness and integrity should be formost in our decisions! Bullies should be held accountable and not allowed to take over! The people love our president because he has stood up for them- now we have to stand up for him! Government has let us down, and left us no choice.

I agree with your take on this. However I am completely deflated tonight, with the few patriots who promised to challenge votes that may not reflect the desire of those states because of fraud that has not been thoroughly investigated, are now backing down.
A couple dozen trespassers break the law, and a police officer shot an unarmed woman while 2-3 million peaceful protesters outside begged for transparent election investigations.
And patriotic republicans folded.
We have no hope of ever having a fair election. Today, the reality that we have completely lost our democratic republic, is on full display for all to see.
We better learn Chinese. They own us now.
By the way, the young, unarmed woman who was shot by an officer was white, so there’s no need to worry about riots anywhere.
The shooting was not the officer’s fault. It was the trespasser’s fault. A trespasser into my house might meet the same bullet.
The shooting was not the President’s fault, even though Chuck Schumer said, from the Senate floor, that it was. He will not be reprimanded for that inflammatory lie.
The shooting is not the fault of the 2-3 million peaceful protesters.
The shooting is not the fault of patriots who want investigations into voter fraud in specific states where substantial evidence exists.
Such a sad day.
I miss my liberties.

When is violence necessary? Good leaders need to assure the people that so far the constitution is being respected by Pence. A good leader assures the people that there is a plan and to be passionate, but patient. A good leader broadcasts the boundary of peace. Peace until and unless? That needs to be communicated.

My husband read an article or saw a video of a young lady who was in Washington DC today. She said the people that stormed the capital were antifa and black lives matter dressed in Trump make America great again stuff. Have you heard anything about this?
