Trump supporters aghast at today's inexcusable violence

“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

    In extraordinary times extraordinary measures are taken. The old adage, fight fire with fire, I strongly feel applies here. Had the shoes been on the others feet, a democratic VP would have invalidated the 7 states in question electoral votes. Here's another old adage that ties directly to the one I just fererenced , where there is smoke there is fire.
    I feel like this is the beginning of the reason that America is not referenced in the Book of Rellvelation. We, America, are going to disintegrate from within. I believe God raised up Donald Trump as a looking glass to show what we had become and what we should be striving to return to. I think, the analogy between a Biden / Harris administration and King Ahab and Queen Jezebel would be wholly fitting.

    Gov. Huckabee this is so hard to accept all that has been thrown at us from the left and will continue to with Biden and the main news media that it is overwhelming. I know retaliation is not the answer but something must be done.

    I agree with your comments, we are a law and order country, although lately that been missing from all the Democrat judges courts. They do not rule on the law of the case but legislate from the bench which is wrong. Pence is a great man and I admire him greatly but now we are talking about the future of our country, our beloved Republic. Sometimes you have to choose what is more important and I hope that he saves us from a Biden presidency. I spent 13+ years living behind the Iron Curtain and I hope and pray that I will never have to live in a socialist environment again.
    PS I wonder how many of those who went over the fence and egged everyone else on, are really not patriots but Antifa.

    I wish we could change the narrative: this is not about two men; this is about two worldviews. Two clashing religions: Judeo-Christian (the USA foundation) vs. Humanism (Yes Virginia, it is a religion). This is entirely a spiritual battle.

    Governor Mike, evidence is coming out that shows those who breached the Capitol building were Antifa infiltrators, not Trump supporters. We have never, and we will never, show violence and disrespect for our country and our nation's capital. Please contact whatever sources you have to correct this misrepresentation. Also, if we don't get rid of Dominion, we will never again have a fair election. Georgians didn't lose in this runoff, they were robbed once again. We support the police, free speech, and our precious Second Amendment. No way the Dems won honestly. Let's get to the bottom of this mess!

    I feel like President Trump and the level of corruption has got to stop! I feel that we are in the beginning of a dictatorship like Venezuela and it might be necessary to have a Revolution like in 1776. Those people that overthrew the government were Patriots. Maybe we are seeing Patriots rising!!!!

    I am also aghast; but it may get far worse. I am usually the eternal optimist; but I am not optimistic about 2021. I think “pissimistic” may be a better description. Pissed off that the swamp and the ruling class are above and beyond the rule of law, and the reach of justice; that even the courts are disinterested in supporting our once-vaunted constitution which is no longer worth the parchment it’s printed on; and pessimistic about the Harris/Pelosi administration and the damndemocrat congress. Both houses, and including way too many RINOs and never-trumpers. The will of the people has been overturned; this country is toast.

    If not mistaken then according to Article. II. Section. 1. Of the Constitution of the United States it is up to each State Legislature to appoint Electors for President and Vice President. If a State Legislature does not agree with the appointment of Electors for their State due to an Elected Official, State Court, or bureaucrat; then they would have standing in the United States Supreme Court to file suit against whosoever they disagreed with.

    The video and pics I have seen show people who they have matched to blm, antifa in other photos. Along with pics of people dressed in combat style clothing, some with helmets breaking in windows AS march is approaching building. The tactics used for distraction are easily found in communist he handbook

    I personally do not think it was Trump supporters who broke thru the barriers, I think it was infiltrator's of BLM and Antifa. President Trumps supporters don't wear helmets or masks at rallies and they don't wear black backpacks like the managers of the Antifa rioters.

    You are completely wrong about this. The woman who was shot was unarmed and all the violence came from the side that is supposed to uphold law and order.     Governor, you can do a great favor for our Nation if you can clearly, calmly state that the events of today are a warning to us all that our democracy is forfeit if the Democratic Party continues to arrogantly stuff ballot boxes via manipulated voter software systems and the use of the Chinese Virus to justify mass mailings of ballots. I am a proud USAF veteran. I am appalled at the extent of voter manipulation and absolute propagandizing by the lame stream media in support of “China Joe” Biden. I will gladly give my life for my country in order to uphold my oath to help defend our Country against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC.

    All the American people wanted to know, don't just recount the ballots, verify that these mail in ballots are legal ballots and not some copies that were produced to throw the election in favor of the Progressive Democrat communist party.

    I am so heartsick at what happened today. If Trump supporters did this, they should be held accountable. However, I have seen several people questioning whether this could be Antifa or BLM infiltrating this protest. I would like to know the truth. I find it suspect that Trump supporters would storm the Capitol like this, when the states were about to be heard.

    DeStroying American history
    Allowing terrorist groups antifa and BLM burn our cities
    False Russian collusion narrative

    Defund police
    And now they want unity
    This is what the democrats wanted all along to take our freedoms away

    I want to yell and scream at the media and the media who are using this unfortunate event at the Capitol to rail against Trump. I was watching this from home, but I totally get the frustration from Trump supporters. It wasn't right to storm the Capitol, but nothing within the system seemed to be getting any adequate response. What's left to do when almost every court would not even hear the evidence of all the election irregularities or when state legislatures wouldn't do their jobs? How could you not feel angry when half the country was totally disenfranchised?
