Last week, Florida’s legislature passed a law similar to Mississippi’s law that bans abortion after the first 15 weeks of pregnancy. The White House immediately went ballistic over this, with strong statements of opposition from both President Biden and Vice President Harris.

https://redstate.com/streiff/2022/03/07/the-biden-harris-attack-on-the-new-florida-abortion-law-shows-how-much-the-left-fears-ron-desantis-n532641

But as that article points out, this is only one of many recent state laws reining in abortion, some of them more severe than Florida’s. So why the immediate harsh reaction to Florida? Redstate's reasonable theory is that they’re scared to death of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is proving to be a tough, effective, very popular leader who could run for President and draw the same supporters as Trump, only without the years of media-amplified negatives.

That’s why you’re hearing so many anti-DeSantis stories (for example, he “yelled” at teenagers to take off their masks – spoiler alert: he didn’t). Expect to hear a lot more attacks on DeSantis and Florida by Democrats, even as many of them are fleeing to Florida to escape the consequences of their own insane policies.

By the way, kudos to VP Harris for at least having the honesty to use the word “abortion” in her statement. Biden continued the usual liberal fuzzy euphemism game of calling it “reproductive health care.” It’s not very healthy for babies, is it?

Dear Governor Huckabee, I love my Governor DeSantis. I do not want to lose him here at home. However, I also said to my wife we made it through Jimmy Carter and his double digit inflation Biden can be no worse. Well was I WRONG. We were young when Jimmy was here; but now we see our savings flying our the door with Biden. I am not violent but I am beginning to feel we are being forced into a Sovereign States vs. the Federal Government WAR. I am no longer young an quite frankly do not want to start another business to just survive this contrived damn-demtic thinking! When Florida starts its new Militia I Intend to join. Enough is Enough. Signed Pissed off and ready to engage the Feds. My generation knows how to fight like the VC and win.

    Hi Mike,

Love your newsletters thanks for keeping us informed. I'm a conservative and a big DeSantis supporter but I am curious about why Desantis is doing a couple of things. If you already covered these, my apologies please let me know. I'd love your insight.

Why would DeSantis sign this bill? It doesn't sound like a good thing to me.

DeSantis signs bill blocking families, patients from being able to sue health-care providers over covid-related injuries, deaths, issues new Florida COVID-related guidance

Also, why is Florida supporting digital drivers licenses? These Smart ID's are a terrible idea. Its scary to think how our information can/will be used.

    Here is my favorite example:

Liu Hu is a Chinese journalist. Like all his citizens, he can't move around without his QR code. For several years this device has been indispensable for shopping, going to the office, going to the restaurant, cinema, moving around the city, traveling...
In 2017 Liu Hu exaggerated: In an article he denounced corruption within the government. This cost him a sentence and a fine.
    But that's not all.
Shortly after, he suddenly realized he couldn't afford a plane ticket anymore. The system just turned him down Dime for train tickets.
Then he discovered that he couldn’t get a loan from any bank, and was even forbidden to buy property.
Others like him, for expressing themselves a little too much on social media, have been prevented from renting, from holding particular jobs. They also saw their frozen bank accounts.
Sometimes they are forbidden to participate in demonstrations or assemblies. And since it is impossible to access some arteries without presenting your own QR code, they would be immediately spotted and heavily fined.
Fortunately, you can't imagine even for a second that something like this is possible here in our country..

Thanks for reading and providing your feedback.

    Sincerely,
    Kristin

Right now, I would fully support DeSantis for the Republican Nomination for President over President Trump for several reasons. First, Trump has just too many active haters that even after being our of office for over a year are still trying everything they can possibly think of to hurt him politically or personally. The Deep State is very Deep. And although, DeSantis is getting just a touch of what Trump has gone through for years now, he's younger, has held elected office and is not afraid to stand up to the left, Greenies, CDC, Fauci, MSM, socialists, Marxist, etc.
