In a major blow against Big Tech and “cancel culture,” Parler interim CEO Mark Meckler announced that the free speech social media app has a new server farm after being suddenly cut off by Amazon Web Service. It might take a few days to be fully accessible by both desktop and phone.
Meckler said Parler is using artificial intelligence and human editors to detect any speech that violates their terms of service, such as advocating violence, which was always forbidden on Parler, even though it seems to be fine with the Big Tech social media platforms, as long as it’s leftists calling for violence against Trump voters. Parler was kneecapped by Apple, Google and Amazon after it was accused of hosting people who plotted the Capitol attack, even though it’s been reported that there was more activity along those lines on Facebook, which never got a death sentence from Silicon Valley.
Parler investor Dan Bongino said, “Cancel culture came for us, and hit us with all they had. Yet we couldn’t be kept down. We’re back, and we’re ready to resume the struggle for freedom of expression, data sovereignty, and civil discourse. We thank our users for their loyalty during this incredibly challenging time.”
This is great news because a pushback against leftist cancel culture is long overdue. The Big Tech giants think they are so powerful, they control all information and nobody can get along without them, so they’ll kill off conservatives by denying us access to their services. But all that will do is drive 75 million customers into the arms of whoever is smart enough to compete for their business. No wonder leftists hate capitalism so much. It gives people choices other than “take what you’re given or nothing,” which is always the end result of socialism.
The return of Parler; the rise of new services such as Gab, MeWe, Rumble and Telegraph; and Gina Carano landing a producer/actor movie deal with the Daily Caller after being fired from “Star Wars: The Mandalorian” by Disney Plus for insensitive tweets, is a welcome trend of conservatives breaking free of limousine liberal Big Tech, who may soon find themselves wondering how they drove away 75 million users and imploded their businesses so quickly.
To paraphrase “Star Wars,” if you strike us down, we shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
