Anthem Update

UPDATE: After Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said the National Anthem would no longer be played before home games, the NBA informed him that the league policy is that all teams will play the National Anthem, and that includes the Mavericks.

Cuban said he would resume playing the Anthem, but added, “We respect and always have respected the passion people have for the anthem and our country. But we also loudly hear the voices of those who feel that the anthem does not represent them. We feel that their voices need to be respected and heard, because they have not been.”

Does anyone else feel that those are the only voices we’re hearing these days?

Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki also weighed in with a similar statement, saying that Biden “has great respect for the anthem and all that it represents, especially for our men and women serving in uniform around the world,” but “he’d also say that, of course, that part of pride in our country means recognizing moments where we as a country haven’t lived up to our highest ideals.”

When I look at some of the people we’ve elected, I’d sadly have to agree. But that doesn’t mean it’s okay to express it by disrespecting the National Anthem.

    So much for unity and healing! As a famous black man said it would help if everyone would stop talking about racism! If you pick a scap long enough it will no longer be ABLE to heal! Steps have been taken to correct the mistakes of the past, but for trouble makers that's not enough! DEMONncRATS use this to keep the melting pot stirred and hate is their favorite ingredient they add to said pot! As for the last election, computer programmers KNOW how the cheating was done and how the evidence of a crime was covered up! My brother calls computers 'idiot boxes' because they will do exactly what the programers tell them to do through programming anf reprogramming! Why do you think Arizona wouldn't turn them over, t?ey NEEDED time to reprogram them! Too bad we couldn't have gotten the mainframes!

    I agree with you gonvenor. I would also like to say, why is it now okay to conform to what other people say and want. America should never have to change to represent a person, especially if that person is not born in America. You come to America you live , you accept our values, Period. You take an oath to stand by her, not change her. Mark Cuban is rich because of her!
