Brilliant!
“Thanksgiving Price Rewind”
The supermarket chain Aldi is helping out beleaguered consumers with a sale called the “Thanksgiving Price Rewind.” Prices on all the favorite holiday food items are being slashed by up to 30% to bring them back to what they were in pre-Bidenflation 2019.
It’s not only a great deal for consumers and a big marketing win for Aldi, it’s also a timely reminder just before the election of how much less money we were all paying for groceries when Trump was President. And it’s the closest Americans can come to being able to turn back the clock to a better time…at least, until Tuesday.
Winfrey endorses Fetterman
I don’t know why anyone would let this influence their vote, but the media is making a big deal of the fact that Oprah Winfrey endorsed John Fetterman for Senate in Pennsylvania over Dr. Oz.
Since Oprah helped launch Dr. Oz’s TV career and knows him, Democrats are crowing that her endorsement of Fetterman “speaks volumes” about him. I don’t know, I’d say that the fact that she betrayed a friend to endorse a clearly unqualified leftist, then went on to endorse a long list of other raving far-leftists, might speak volumes about her.
Good news
I was holding off on reporting this until all the votes were counted and it seemed certain, but it looks as if Benjamin Netanyahu will once again become the Prime Minister of Israel.
https://townhall.com/
Natanyahu lost power due to a concerted effort by the media and political opponents to tar him with phony scandals, but after seeing what it was like without his leadership, voters kicked the leftists out and, as Josh Hammer puts it at the link above, “The Israeli people have finally spoken up loud and clear: Bring Bibi back.” Sound familiar?
Shocking survey
One of the top priorities for Republicans assuming office should be massive reform of our colleges and universities that have turned into far-left, anti-American brainwashing centers. Want more proof? Try this shocking new McLaughlin survey that found that 48% of today’s undergrads think that some speech can be so offensive that it merits a violent response, even the death penalty. 20% strongly agree. Only 38% disagree.
In a related story, some students at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, wanted to know why a school official took down their Thin Blue Line flag showing support for police and their “Don’t Tread on Me” Gadsden Flag that were hanging on the outside wall of their dorm. The school first claimed it was a “safety concern.” But when the students pointed out that they didn’t take down BLM and LGBTQ flags that other students put up (apparently, those weren’t deemed a choking hazard), the college admitted that their flags were taken down because “some people viewed the flags as offensive.”

I’m sure this will come as a shock to them, but some people view BLM and LGBTQ flags as offensive – although I wouldn’t argue for the death penalty over it. Would they ever even consider removing those flags to salve the wounded feelings of conservatives or Christians? Maybe instead of censoring one group to appease another, they should tell all the groups to respect different opinions and to air their differences in free and open debates in which they can learn about other diverse viewpoints.
Nah! That would make the place too much like a college!
I have a policy that sets this newsletter apart from less reliable sources like the New York Times:
I don’t report on things that haven’t happened yet. But you should know that at a rally in Iowa Thursday, former President Donald Trump said, “I ran twice. I won twice…And now in order to make our country successful, safe and glorious again, I will probably have to do it again.”
https://nypost.com/2022/10/23/
Trump has teased another run before, but Axios claims that unnamed sources tell them Trump and his top advisors are discussing riding what’s expected to be a big wave election for Republicans by announcing a 2024 presidential run on November 14th.
Does any of this mean anything? Considering it’s Trump, the sources are unnamed, and I doubt Axios really knows anyone who’s that close to him, I strongly suggest waiting until November 14th and then we’ll know.
Hard to predict
I’ve interviewed pollster Robert Cahaly of the Trafalgar Group, who told me this year’s races are hard to predict because Republicans are likely being undercounted – and more than usual. Republicans have been demonized by the President and the media, and seen the politicized FBI targeting “enemies of the state,” so they are naturally reluctant to pick up the phone and tell a stranger how they’re voting.
But it’s not just Republicans. Breitbart News reports that according to a Convention of States Action/Trafalgar Group survey, 51.4% of Republicans and 66.3% of Independents say they believe their friends and family members are afraid to express their beliefs about who they’ll vote for.
If two-thirds of Independents won’t say who they’re voting for, that really throws the polls into question. On the other hand, they’d have no reason to be afraid to speak if they were voting for Democrats. So if anyone should be afraid after reading this story, it’s the Democrats.
Democrat smears
I don’t report every ridiculous smear of Republicans made by liberals in the media because I don’t want to reward their blatant pleas for attention. Same reason you don’t feed a dog every time it whines; you’re just encouraging it to whine more.
But a couple of them went so far overboard that they made the news, so I’ll reluctantly mention them.
MSNBC’s “presidential historian” (believe me, those quotation marks are well-earned) Michael Beschloss hysterically claimed that if Republicans win the midterm elections, "We could be six days away from losing our rule of law,” that Republicans will destroy the “foundation stones” of “our democracy,” and this could determine “whether we will be a democracy in the future, whether our children will be arrested and conceivably killed."
It’s said that you can always tell what the Democrats are doing by what they accuse the Republicans of doing. “Losing the rule of law?” Look at any blue city crime rate, and the targeting of Biden’s political opponents by the once-respected FBI. “Killing our kids?” Does he mean by aborting them up to the moment of birth or by running over them with cars because the President fired up baseless paranoia about “MAGA extremists”? As for destroying the “foundation stones of our democracy,” I don’t know whether he means the left's assaults on the First Amendment, the Supreme Court, the Electoral College, the Senate filibuster and election integrity laws, or just all the protesters that were allowed to smash national monuments.
As scary as the thought of having responsible Republican adults back in charge might be, it’s a risk I’m willing to take.
And saying that someone on “The View” said something dumb and offensive is like saying that ducks quack, but Sunny Hostin went above and beyond by declaring, “What’s also surprising to me is the abortion issue. I read a poll just yesterday that White Republican suburban women are now going to vote Republican. It’s almost like roaches voting for Raid, right?"
Nothing wins people over to your side like calling them “roaches.” I wonder if she realized the irony that it’s actually her side with its unlimited abortion stance that is treating human beings like expendable pests that can be eradicated at will.
