DAILY BIBLE VERSE
Prayers and a speedy recovery
By Mike Huckabee
Former President Bill Clinton, 75, was hospitalized Thursday night in California for a non-COVID-related infection. He is still in the hospital as of this morning, but doctors say he’s on the mend and in good spirits.

At times like this, it’s appropriate to put politics aside and offer the former President our good wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery.
Supreme Court Commission update
By Mike Huckabee
When President Biden appointed a Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court, many critics assumed it was just a thinly-veiled excuse to justify the Democrats’ radical proposal to expand the Supreme Court and pack it with liberals. Well, that Commission just released its first report and – surprise! – they found that expanding the Supreme Court is such a terrible, unpopular idea that even they couldn’t get behind it.
They suggested that maybe the SCOTUS could get more “diversity” by rotating judges in and out of the SCOTUS and lower courts, but they admitted that would face a Constitutional obstacle. Good to hear that someone who works for this President actually pays attention to the Constitution.
Here’s my suggestion for getting more “diversity” on the Court. Follow the Constitution in appointing and vetting Justices, but elect Presidents who will nominate judges without regard for race or gender, but will choose some who studied law anyplace other than Harvard or Yale. It would be nice to have more intellectual diversity, and since they’re making rulings that affect people from Alaska to Arizona to Florida to New England, maybe have someone on the Court who’s actually lived someplace other than New England.
The Loudon story gets worse
By Mike Huckabee
This is hard to believe, but…the story of the father who was handcuffed and smeared as a domestic terrorist for getting angry at the Loudoun County, Virginia, school board when they denied that his 15-year-old daughter had been brutally raped in the girls’ bathroom by a supposedly transgender male student…that story…just got even worse.
It now appears that that boy accused of the rape had been charged with sexually assaulting another student on school property five months earlier, and that had allegedly been covered up, too.
As noted at the link, most of the establishment media are ignoring this story because it shatters so many leftist narratives, but it should be the biggest story in America. It’s a scandal, an injustice and an outrage. Somebody in that school board meeting should have been dragged out in handcuffs, but it wasn’t that dad.
Biden's big plan
By Mike Huckabee
I’m hearing a lot of people ruefully joke that Joe Biden promised to bring Americans together, and he has: people across the political spectrum are all in agreement that Biden is destroying everything he touches. You expect it from Republicans, but even normally liberal young people on social media platforms like TikTok are mocking Biden. This would explain why #EmptyShelvesJoe (referring to the supply chain crisis) became the number one trending hashtag on Twitter.
Fortunately, Biden has a solution for this: first, he urged the port of L.A. to unload cargo ships 24/7, and now he’s suggested that truckers work nights. No, seriously.
The president of an independent truckers association fired back that truckers are already working around the clock while being hampered by obstacles beyond their control. I suspect Biden will try to fix that by offering them a free supply of taxpayer-funded West Coast Turnaround pep pills.
Speaking of that, Steven Green at PJ Media has an eye-opening article about the real reason why California has a trucker shortage, and you won’t be surprised to learn it’s because of their far-left Democrat government, the source of all of California’s problems other than earthquakes.
That article is for paid subscribers, but just to put it in a nutshell: the average age of truckers is 55, so many will be retiring soon. Federal law requires them to be 21, so that means 18-year-old high school graduates have three years to be distracted into some other profession, leaving few younger truckers coming up in the pipeline. To make it worse, California has imposed climate change regulations that are forcing older trucks out of commission while requiring truckers to buy electric trucks that don’t exist. Plus, the state’s union-empowering AB 5 law that’s killing gig and contract jobs (and that the Democrats want to pass nationally as part of Biden’s “Build Back Better” boondoggle) has made it illegal to be an owner-operator trucker.
In short, expecting a leftwing professional politician in Washington or Sacramento to understand what truckers are dealing with is like expecting them to know a really good recipe for grits.
Fighting back

Speaking of fighting back against government overreach, check out this video of a Nevada parent serving the Clark County School board with a $200 million medical malpractice lawsuit over its mask mandate policy.
A new low
By Mike Huckabee
The latest Zogby poll finds that President Biden’s approval rating has sunk to a new low of 36.4%. His negative rating is 61%.
Invoking the name “Titanic” to describe how Biden is sinking, pollster John Zogby said his latest drop is being led by women abandoning him, followed by Independents. Zogby seems to think that Biden could reverse his plummet if he had a success with…well, anything, but Zogby mentions the infrastructure bill and his $3.5 trillion “Build Back Better” bill, which as we’ve already established, is popular with the majority of Americans who have no idea what’s really in it.
But the passage of either bill is looking iffy, with Sens. Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin both objecting for different reasons, and “progressives” demanding to pass the big Santa’s bag bill before the smaller infrastructure bill.
Also, we now know of Sinema’s biggest objection, and it’s one I can’t imagine the other Democrats agreeing to: she refuses to support it unless they remove all individual and corporate tax increases!
