The Party of Mob tactics
If there’s any doubt that it’s the Democrats who have become the Party of mob intimidation tactics, look no further than the White House encouraging illegal protests at conservative Supreme Court Justices’ homes, and now, at the Democrat-led US House.
Monday, in a rare unanimous vote, the Senate passed an emergency bill to provide security for SCOTUS Justices and the Supreme Court building and sent it to the House. But House Democrat leaders have yet to schedule it for a vote, and House Democratic Caucus chairman Hakeem Jeffries said he hadn’t even read it yet (it’s one page long.) Instead, they’re considering their own bill that would include a “poison pill” provision that the Senate would never go for. It would extend protection to all 40 SCOTUS clerks, which likely includes the person who leaked the draft decision and caused all the threats against the Justices.
In the meantime, local law enforcement in Virginia and Maryland will have to continue doing the work that the feds are supposed to do and won’t (a recurring theme of the Biden Administration.) The outrage over the DOJ's dereliction of duty was so overwhelming that Attorney General Merrick Garland finally remembered what his job is supposed to be and “directed the U.S. Marshal’s Service to help ensure the Justices’ safety by providing additional support to the Marshal of the Supreme Court and Supreme Court Police.”
But as for arresting the people who are violating federal law by threatening the Justices at their private homes? Crickets. Read that story at Redstate.com, which recounts all the balloon juice emitted by Garland to justify his ironfisted tactics against pro-Trump protesters, even if they were “peacefully protesting,” compared to his “I see nooooothing!” attitude toward leftist mobs threatening conservatives. When the Republicans take back power in Congress, they’re going to have an impeachment list longer than Hillary Clinton’s enemies list.
The Myths Abortion Activists use
While I’ve always been fervently opposed to Roe v. Wade, I’ve warned for decades that overturning it would not mean the end of legalized abortion. It would just mean the issue would go back to the people’s elected representatives in the individual states, where it belongs. The pro-life movement would have to shift away from the Supreme Court to winning over hearts and minds in states that would allow unfettered abortion.
That was probably the biggest myth about Roe. But many others have become dogma among pro-abortion activists. One of the chief ones is the “My body, my choice” argument. That’s conveniently forgotten whenever leftists want to force something onto your body, from a mask on your face to a vaccine in your arm. It’s also verifiably false scientifically. A child in the womb is dependent on the mother, but it’s a completely separate person. If they could show a DNA test proving that a baby in the womb has identical DNA to its mother, then they could make the argument that it’s just a part of her body, but that will never happen.

$40 Billion
This week, the House passed a $40 billion bill to help Ukraine fight Russia. At least, that’s what it was supposedly for. I think most Americans want to help Ukraine, but Republican Rep. Chip Roy blasted the bill, saying he and his colleagues weren’t even given time to read it. While a number of Republicans voted for it, others argued that it’s too much money ($7 billion more than even President Biden asked for), it’s filled with unrelated expenditures, there’s no accountability for the money sent to Ukraine, and it could actually make war with Russia more likely. It’s also a massive amount of spending at a time when we have a $30 trillion debt, rampaging inflation, and we’re being told that we have no funds to secure our own border but we have $40 billion to defend the sovereignty of Ukraine’s borders.
At this writing, Sen. Rand Paul has managed to delay a Senate vote to next week, in hopes that more people will learn what’s in this bill and some sanity will be applied. To further that goal, here’s Bonchie at Redstate.com on the bill, and his commentary includes video of Tucker Carlson’s monologue ripping it apart.
Bedbug Crazy
National-level Democrat office holders are notorious for falling in line behind whatever policies are dictated by Party leaders. But when the Biden White House canceled two major oil lease agreements on the same day gas prices hit record highs, and as the world is suffering fuel shortages and being blackmailed due to the need for Russian oil, that was actually bedbug crazy enough to cause a Democrat Senator who’s not Joe Manchin to protest that Biden’s energy policy is incoherent and he “just doesn’t get it.”
Cruz sets Warren straight
After losing a Senate vote on the Democrats’ extremely radical national abortion bill by 51-49, Sen. Elizabeth Warren went on the warpath (sorry!) to CNN, ranting, “I believe in democracy, and I don’t believe that the minority should have the ability to block things that the majority want to do. That’s not in the Constitution.” She went on to say that “it’s time to get rid of the filibuster.”
Sen. Ted Cruz isn’t a mathematician, but he didn’t have to be to point out to her that 49 out of 100 votes is NOT a majority. The filibuster is immaterial: they couldn’t even come up with 51 votes to bring this abomination to the floor for a vote that’s subject to the filibuster.
As I’ve often said, leftists can only win arguments by redefining words. It’s clear that they’ve now redefined the word “majority” to mean them. When they say a “majority wants this,” that doesn’t mean more than 50% want it, it just means, “We want it.” It’s no wonder they’re trying to brand math as a white supremacist concept and ban it. They can’t win a vote if accurate counting is involved.
