BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
Note to Rhode Island Democratic Senator and conspiracy theorist Sheldon Whitehouse
By Mike Huckabee
If the FBI investigation of Brett Kavanaugh failed to turn up the unsupported sexual assault accusation against him, maybe it’s not because of a vast conspiracy to corrupt the FBI with Trump using all that power he had over them that somehow didn’t stop them from trying to undermine his presidency at every turn. Maybe it’s just because there had never been a hint of scandal about Kavanaugh to find until the moment he was nominated for the Supreme Court, when the left became frantic to do anything to stop his confirmation.
I’d like to introduce Sen. Whitehouse to something called “Occam’s Razor.” It’s the principle that the simplest explanation is usually the right one.
The Atlanta Shootings
By Mike Huckabee
I didn’t write yet about the tragic series of shootings at three massage parlors in Atlanta on Tuesday because it didn’t appear to have a political aspect to it. But leave it to today’s left to find racial politics in everything.
The alleged shooter is a white male while six of the eight victims were Asian women, so some commentators immediately leapt to the conclusion that, of course, it was a racially motivated shooting by a white supremacist. The shooter told the police race had nothing to do with it, so they assume he must be a racist because denying you’re a racist means you’re a racist (as does admitting you’re a racist…so basically, everyone’s a racist.) The digital magazine The Root even published an article about it titled “Whiteness is a Pandemic,” comparing some people’s skin color to a deadly disease.
This may be a crazy idea, but since the shooter told the police why he did it, maybe we should consider that as a possibility. He claims he’s a sex addict and blames the massage parlors, and he wanted to eliminate them. That sounds crazy, but then, so does going on a shooting rampage, so it fits. Maybe his victims weren’t Asian because he’s a white supremacist who wanted to kill Asians but because he’s a nut and that’s who works in Asian massage parlors. That’s a whole different issue that society could deal with, but the current obsession with seeing every problem in terms of nothing but race has made it impossible to deal with anything rationally.
Personally, I pray for a day when good people of all colors can come together in agreement that there’s no longer a place in society for the sickening racism of so-called anti-racists. And I’m not the only one saying that.
Biden and Putin
By Mike Huckabee
Maybe this is why President Biden’s staff is so terrified of him holding an unscripted press conference: in an excerpt from an upcoming ABC interview, Biden was asked if he agrees that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a killer. He replied, “I do.”
That’s now sparked an international incident, with Russia recalling its ambassador and threatening additional actions. The deputy chairman of the upper house of Russia’s Parliament called Biden’s answer a watershed moment in the relationship between the US and Russia and said such a comment "is not allowed from the mouth of a statesman of such a rank."
So wait: does this mean that when Trump was cordial to Putin, it didn’t mean that he was a Russian puppet but that he was just acting diplomatically because that’s the President’s job? Why didn’t someone explain this to Joe Biden?
Biden Administration Clamps Talk Down About The Border
By Mike Huckabee
President Biden’s thoughtless reversal of all of Trump’s border security policies has created a massive surge of illegal immigration and a security and humanitarian crisis on the border. Attempts to blame it on Trump were greeted with appropriate eye-rolling. So he’s falling back on another favorite tactic: holding the press behind barriers so they can't see what's happening. Reporters and cameras aren’t allowed into the detention facilities that are reportedly at over 700% capacity with children forced to sleep on the floors. And border officers have been put under a gag order and told not to talk to or cooperate with the media.
When pressed about this cover-up of his disaster, Biden’s spokesperson Jen Psaki insisted that he still supports “transparency,” but they have to observe COVID protocols and protect “the privacy of people who are staying in those facilities.”
News flash: it’s not a five-star Hollywood rehab resort. And if he cares about COVID protocols, why is he allowing so many COVID-positive migrants to enter the US at all? At latest report, that’s up to 50% of the ones who’ve been captured.
The only thing that’s transparent about this Administration so far is its transparently bogus excuses for its own ineptitude.
Republicans Fight Back
By Mike Huckabee
Republicans are finally wising up and using the left’s own tactics against them. Just as the left used countless lawsuits to stymie President Trump’s executive orders, red states are doing the same to counter President Biden’s flurry of radical, destructive EO’s.
Wednesday, 21 state Attorneys General, led by Texas and Montana, filed a federal lawsuit accusing Biden of overstepping his authority by canceling the Keystone XL Pipeline project.
The lawsuit argues that by unilaterally canceling the project and voiding agreed-upon interstate and international contracts, Biden usurped the power to regulate international and interstate commerce that the Constitution reserves solely to Congress. He also violated the rules set by Congress for what actions the President may take regarding the Pipeline. In addition, by doing this under the auspices of his global climate initiatives, he is illegally altering US domestic policy with the intention of conducting foreign policy.
They also point out, just incidentally, that there isn’t even a real environmental justification to canceling the Pipeline beyond virtue-signaling to the environmentalist lobby. As I wrote here before, the oil still has to get to the refineries somehow, and if it’s not flowing through a carbon-neutral pipeline, it will have to be transported by diesel trains with the pollution equivalent of adding over 400,000 new cars to the highways.
I’m not a lawyer, but that sounds a lot more solid than some of the cases that hamstrung Trump, like arguing that he had no power to enforce immigration laws that had been on the books for years.
Also joining in the legal battle: Ohio’s Attorney General is suing the Administration to overturn the part of the $1.9 trillion “COVID-19 relief” bill that bars states that accept relief funds from lowering taxes. The case claims that infringes on Ohio’s sovereign authority to set its own tax rates.
I hope there will soon be many more such lawsuits, from states, conservative legal groups, individuals, churches and any other entities that care about preserving America from the aggressive and out-of-control left. If the unconstitutional HR1 Legalizing Vote Fraud Act makes it past the Senate, I trust that the lawsuits to throw it out are already prepared for filing the second Biden signs it.
A Reader Writes Back...
Thank you for endorsing "Recall Gavin Newsom." Often times, I feel no one from Washington is listening to us or cares. I'm from California, my husband is white and I'm African American (true African American, born in Africa and naturalized American). We are not white supremacists and it's not about color or party (no shocker there pulling out the race card). The governor needs to do his job! Ask Newsom why he locked down small businesses throughout California, but his wineries in Napa were fully operational and how he dined out, mask free, to celebrate a birthday at a very expensive restaurant. This, along with his other inabilities to run our state, except into the ground, is WHY we want him gone. Perish the thought he should some day be our president! I honestly believe Newsom didn't think the recall would get this far, because the other attempts failed. Just like the democrats didn't think Trump would take the presidency, govenor gav, thought he was untouchable!
