The biggest threat to “our democracy,” as the Democrats call our constitutional republic, isn’t “misinformation” or “disinformation,” it’s control of information. Today, we have two glaring examples. Fortunately, thanks to the Internet, they were caught and widely exposed, which is why so many people in government are desperate to try to control speech on the Internet.

First up, remember earlier this week, when I told you the Media Research Center had identified 41 times over the past 16 years when Google had interfered in elections by manipulating search results, and it was only getting worse with time? Google denied that, claiming that they have a "clear business incentive" to keep both sides happy and that safeguards ensure unbiased and accurate search results.

Okay, then explain why, immediately after Democrats twisted Trump’s statement about Biden causing a financial bloodbath in the auto industry into a threat that there would be literal blood in the streets if he didn’t win, Google altered the definition of “bloodbath” to fit the Democrats’ narrative. Steven Green at PJ Media has more on how Google’s online dictionary mysteriously deleted several alternate definitions of the word “bloodbath,” leaving only the convenient “bloody slaughter” definition.

Meanwhile over on Wikipedia, someone edited the page on the Cloward-Piven Strategy, a leftist plan for collapsing societies and destroying capitalism. Maybe out of fear that it was giving away the game, the page no longer includes the information that it involves such current Democrat policies as running up unpayable national debt and allowing unfettered immigration.

This is why leftists hate Elon Musk and Twitter so much: he not only allows free speech, he lets users put notes on posts to tell you the inconvenient facts that were left out or misrepresented. That might explain a new Rasmussen survey that found that 40% of Americans believe the Trump “bloodbath” hoax, but only 3% of Twitter users do.

Imagine that: a social media platform that actually makes you smarter! No wonder the left wants to destroy it.
