Democrat legislators in New York are finalizing a bill to give payments of more than $27,000 each to illegal immigrants and ex-convicts. They call it the “Excluded Workers Fund” and claim it’s needed because illegal immigrants and ex-cons were disproportionately harmed by the pandemic shutdown because they couldn’t establish a recent work history to qualify for unemployment payments. You can go to the link and read the details, but trust me: it won’t make any more sense if you do.

The story notes that not a single Republican is on record opposing the measure, but says that’s possibly because they couldn’t stop it anyway, so they will just let it pass in as crazy a form as possible to use it as a campaign issue against Democrats. Although I seriously doubt that they’re going to have a shortage of crazy Democrat bills to run against in New York.

In what I can only assume is a related story, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo just signed a bill to legalize the possession and use of marijuana by anyone over 21, even in public places. He must be hoping that New Yorkers will roll up and smoke their newspapers instead of reading them.

The law will allow New Yorkers to smoke pot in any public place where the smoking of tobacco is allowed. Wait until all the potheads learn that thanks to New York liberals, there are no places left where the smoking of tobacco is allowed.

Certainly looks like NY Democrats feel that they need to buy more votes. I wonder is they would consider payments to ignored Republicans?
New Mexico has just passed "recreational marijuana." No provisions for illegal use while driving. Just compounds our driving under the influence accidents. Course, NM wants the money even though it advocates not smoking for health reasons. Talk about an oxymoron.

I'm totally against this! Neither one of those groups contribute to anything in American society. I also think all illegal immigrants need to be deported.

I have no words left. I have only Facebook as a recourse to spew my anger, opposition and opinions on this insane administration and the state I was born in, New York. Thank God I have lived in Texas for the past 40+ years! I want to do more to express my utter dissatisfaction but at age 78, although in relatively good health, I can’t get out and “pound the pavement”. How can us seniors help?

    Gov. Huckabee,
Maybe it would be a good idea to ASK the NY Republicans if they oppose it. Like all of us Republicans in CA, no one bothers to recognize and ask the NY Republicans. Just saying.....

Isn’t Biden from Delaware? It appears as is they have to show an ID, just like we’re going to have to (praise the Lord!), here in Georgia. Good grief!

    Governor Huckabee,

I always enjoy reading what you have in your newsletters and I enjoy how you present it. I especially like reading your Scripture of the Day.

Concerning The "Excluded Workers Fund" article, it sounds like the Democrats are trying to buying votes or someone's pockets are going to get padded for one fictitious reason or another. I believe that this is an excellent waste of taxpayer dollars. But then, it would appear that the Democrats like to waste money.

    Thanks

The excluded workers fund is one of the most outrageous bills ever, along with paying for illegal immigrants entering this country. Biden has got to GO! We can’t keep letting him get away with this. If you have Donald Trump’s contact information please let me know. I’m a disabled senior citizen but I feel the need to express my outrage at the purposeful decline of our country. God help us ??

I wo der how New York is going to handle all the crime engendered by all this free use of marijuana. They've cut back on funds for police and are restricting the police they have left from acting like police should. I imagine that pretty soon New York will become a gangland stronghold, like Chicago. Humph! Even the UN will want out.
I just pray they don't come south, we're having enough problems assimilating the California emigres.

How can a sitting president support boycotting a state of the union? That's certainly "unity" isn't it?
